Coping with the Weasley's
Harry flooed to the Burrow just after breakfast and looked around the room. The house looked the same as before and it seemed that no one was awake. Walking into the kitchen, Harry saw Molly speaking to Hermione.
“Good morning ladies, I hope I'm not intruding.”
The two looked at him with wide eyes and rushed over to hug him. After being suffocated by both women, Harry sat down and told them what he had spoken to Remus about a week ago.
“I'm actually quite glad that I get to talk to the two of you alone first. I have realized after the battles were over, that I had changed. I like quiet people apposed to loud, I can't stand people who put up a happy face no matter what, and I found out that I am gay.” He held up his hand, “I really need to let this out, but it isn't anyone's fault that I only like women as friends, like adopted sisters, or adopted mothers.”
Looking up with trepidation, Harry bit his lip. “I hope you don't take it personally, but I can only see you as my own family, and nothing more.” Molly smiled and hugged him. “I'm glad you told me Harry. I respect your choices, but be careful of Ginny; she won't take it well at all.” Harry's shoulders dropped in disappointment, but looked at both women with thanks. Just as he was about to speak, he heard Ginny squeal, “HARRY!”
Before she could grab him, Harry had stepped behind Molly and smiled softly. “Hello Ginny, how are you these days?”
She blinked a few times, but soon her face was as bright as the sun. “I've been waiting for you to return. I love you remember?” She spoke to him as if he was a child, and his face went blank at the tone.
“I told you to forget about me Ginny. What would have happened if I had died in battle? Would you spend the rest of your days grieving my death? Do not answer that. I know you say you love me, but I can't love you.” His voice was calm and collected, and there was no hint of any emotion, making Hermione wonder what had happened when he fought Voldemort to change him so.
Ginny's face began to crumble. “But you love me...” Harry shook his head and sighed in frustration.
“When we were dating I told you that I was confused about my sexuality. I've gotten that dealt with, as well as some other things as well.” Hope lit up in her only to be crushed again. “I'm gay; girls or women can only be friends, sister or mother-like to me.” Before anything else could be said, Ron walked into the room and gasped. “Harry, is that you?”
Nodding at his friend, but keeping his eyes on Ginny, he waited for her reaction, knowing her temper was as bad as Ron's was. It didn't take long for her to react.
“YOU'RE GAY? HOW COULD YOU DO THIS TO ME? I THOUGHT YOU LOVED ME! WELL YOU CAN'T GET SHALLOWER THAN THAT. ADDED TO THAT IS YOU LEFT ME HANGING! WELL, I HOPE YOU ROT IN HELL!”
Harry shook his head as Ginny stormed out. Even though he knew this would happen, it still hurt. “You're gay.” Ron's voice was flat and his face hid his emotions.
“Yes Ron, I'm gay. While I was searching for the Horcruxes and preparing for the final battle, I discovered that I could only deal with women as friends, as a sister or as a mother. It's nothing against them, or Ginny, it's just the way I am.”
He was not expecting Ron to be so calm about it, but he was happy that his friend might have grown up in the five-year search, enough so that they could remain friends.
“So who do you fancy?” Ron's voice was cautious as Harry's face took on a dreamy look and a sweet smile graced his lips.
“Well, he's very kind and helped me when I had just finished fighting Voldemort and most of the Death Eaters. Some were still on the loose, so he took me in. He's cunning and sweet; but I don't know if you'll like him.” Harry bit his lip and Ron cocked his head to the side.
“As long as it isn't Malfoy, then I don't have a problem with it. They just have to make you happy.” Harry looked at Hermione and Molly before he faced Ron again.
“That's just it though; the person I fancy is Draco Malfoy.” Ron's face was passive, but the anger was burning in his eyes. When he finally spoke, Harry knew that he had lost a good friend. “Good bye Harry, I hope you enjoy your choice.” With those cold words, he left the room, and Harry sat heavily into a chair.
It took a few minutes, but Harry had come to terms with what he knew would happen, losing Ron as his best friend. Molly gave him some juice and toast, while Hermione asked how he was doing now that the war was over. As lunch rolled around, Harry said his good byes and invited the two over, but to floo ahead to see if he wasn't busy, and if they had guests. Hugging them both, he apparated back home and was surprised to see Blaise and Pansy visiting. Smiling he looked at both of them.
“Hello, I didn't know that both of you were visiting today. If you would like, there are some rooms made up if you wish to spend the night.” Their eyes widened in surprise and he went to the kitchen to get a bottle of brandy and a glass after being told that they did not want anything from the kitchen.
Draco and Severus both winced at how quickly the glass was downed, and Blaise asked softly, “Is everything alright Harry?”
He winced at the second quick drinking of brandy and heard him mutter, “I expected this to happen, but why does it still hurt so much? You see, Molly and 'Mione were great about my coming out, but Ginny became the bitch and Ron turned into a person who didn't even care. Am I a bad person to tell someone to get over me because I prefer men to women? Is it wrong to ditch your best friend's sister when you know she will be more vindictive than the Devil himself, because you told her the truth? Or were they both mad that they can't stand the person I fancy?”
Shadowed eyes looked at the occupants of the room and Draco took the bottle of brandy and empty glass away from Harry. “If they can't accept it, it is their loss.” Harry saw the worry in Draco's eyes, but he just felt so hurt and confused. Sighing, Draco capped the bottle and put it away as he finished his chat with Blaise and Pansy.
The rest of the day passed fairly well, but neither guest could stay over night. Once they left, Harry had picked up the bottle again, and continued to drink, telling those that were still there what had happened. Remus, Severus and Draco were glad that Molly and Hermione were so caring and understanding of the situation, but became angry once he had gotten to the part with Ginny and Ron. Their reactions were expected, but the amount of hurt that Harry showed was unbelievable.
“Was it so wrong to want them to stay in my life and help me if I needed it? Why couldn't I see that Ron only wanted to be friends with me because I was The-Boy-Who-Lived? Am I that blind and desperate that I'll push away all the bad qualities, and be stuck with plastic people?” The bottle was long since polished, and Draco cradled Harry in his arms. Soothing Harry, Draco never saw Remus and Severus leave the room so that they could attend to themselves as Draco tended to Harry.
Draco held Harry as he let out his pain from his short visit to the Weasley's, and he tried to hold back the rage. Harry trusted Ron to be there when he needed it, and by holding onto the grudge of five years ago, only made this rejection harder. Ginny's reaction was somewhat understandable, but when the person you love tells you they don't love you, you should wish for their happiness instead. Helping Harry up, Draco lead him to his room, and put him under the covers. Looking down upon the sleeping face of his friend, Draco began to wonder what it was that made Ron reject Harry's new love life.
Walking away, he thought back to what he called “Weasel Logic” and came up with that the person must not be good enough for Harry and that because Harry fancied him; Harry was rejected from Ron's view of the Weasley clan. Draco smirked at his idea, but then began to wonder whom Ron was so against Harry wanting. He was about to knock on Severus' door when he heard a loud moan of pleasure. Blushing at the lack of charms and spells on the walls, Draco wandered back to his room to find out who Harry wanted.
In Severus' room, the low lights and dark colours kept the two forms from being seen from the outside. However, one was pinned against the wall as the other ravished him. Remus smirked at the submissive moans and whimpers coming from Severus' mouth, and he kept up his teasing touches. Ripping off the clothing for both of them, Remus flipped Severus so that he was facing the wall, so that he could prepare him. Chuckling when he heard Severus yelp from the lubrication and stretching spell, Remus kept kissing and nibbling on his shoulder.
“Ready Sev?” With a whimpered growl, Remus chuckled at Severus' reaction as he slid into heaven. Moving slowly Remus kissed along Severus' spine and murmured, “This is revenge for your constant tempting of me. You know I can smell your arousal, and you know what it does to me. So, I'm going to move at my pace at which ever rhythm I choose.”
A whimper came from the captive's lips as he tried to get the other to move faster, but Remus kept his snail pace. Just when Severus thought Remus was never going to move, jack-knife jabs nailed his prostate with perfect accuracy as Severus let out scream after scream of pleasure, before being silenced by Remus.
“Now, now, we can't wake the others Sev, but don't worry, I'll keep you happy all night long.” The smile that lit up Remus' face would have scared even Lord Voldemort, but luckily, Severus didn't see it, or he would have run out the door.
The next morning, Harry woke to a pounding headache and cottonmouth. Moaning softly in pain, he made his way to his bathroom, and glared at the brightness of the room. Seeing his haggard face, he decided to freshen up before heading down to breakfast; he also prayed that Severus had some of that hangover potion lying around. Cleaning up and wearing dark green top and blackish-silver pants, Harry slowly went downstairs and was surprised to see Hermione there with her bags.
“Mione, what happened?” She was wearing a pair of dark sunglasses, and Harry feared that Ron was cruel to her.
His assumption was correct when he saw the dark purple bruise around her left eye and the tears running down her face. Hangover forgotten, Harry lead her into the kitchen, not seeing the other three and checked her face.
“Merlin, `Mione, did Ron do this to you?” His face was so sad and broken that she could only nod her head. Feeling another set of fingers on her bruise, she jolted in pain, and Severus handed her a potion.
“Drink this Miss Granger, it should reduce the swelling and take away the pain; Harry take this it'll get rid of your hangover.” Both quickly drank the potion and made a face at the horrible flavour.
After the five of them ate a small breakfast, Harry led everyone to the living room and let Hermione tell her tale.
“I went upstairs after you had left and Ron wasn't around. Ginny had stormed out not that long after you left, but I never heard or saw Ron go. When I woke up this morning, I saw him packing my things and when I asked him why, he told me that I was betraying him by accepting that you fancied someone who had made your life hell before. When I explained that you had both gotten over your differences, he yelled that he did not want to hear it and punched me in the face. I panicked, taking my things and flooing right here, after I tossed his ring in his face.” She sobbed softly as she spoke, and Harry held his friend close.
“It's not your fault `Mione, he can't accept that people change, and it will be his downfall. It took me a full bottle of brandy to get that knocked into my head.” She pulled back from him a bit and gave a rueful smile.
Looking at the other people in the room, she sat up and held her hand out to Draco. “I'd like to start over. Harry told me that both of you have stopped fighting, and I think that we would both benefit from another friend.” Smirking at her words, Draco shook her hand and knew that he had another ally when it came to wooing Harry.
The day passed relatively calm and Draco managed to find Hermione in Harry's library.
“Hermione, are you busy? I have a few questions for you, if you feel up to them.”
Smiling she waved him in and he sat beside her. Looking her in the eye his face took on a solemn look and he held her hand.
“First, I'm sorry that Ron was so cruel to you. Harry hates violence even after what he had to do, maybe even more so than from before. But, enough about that.”
She blinked at his statement and motioned him to continue.
“I need your help in wooing Harry. I know that he's gay, and I must admit that during our sixth year, I began to have a crush on him. When I was helping him after his final battle with Voldemort, I saw the boy behind the fame, and knew that he never wanted this burden. I actually began to admire him even more. By helping Severus heal him, I realized that I never got over my crush, and it continues to grow each day. So, can you help me? I swear that I only have the best of intentions when it comes to Harry. He needs to be pampered, in one way or another.”
Hermione smiled at Draco's admission and knew that her work had now been cut in half. She also agreed with him that Harry needed pampering, and Draco was the man for the job. Also, he knows Harry Potter as both the Boy-Who-Lived and as the Boy-Who-Needs-Love. Agreeing readily, Hermione began to tell Draco about all of Harry's likes and dislikes, as well as what he enjoys doing when he doesn't have a million things on his mind.
“He loves to garden. When we were at school, he would go to Ms. Sprout's green house and tend to the less dangerous plants. Since you and Severus love to make potions, he could grow some of the herb and plants you would need. He has a good green thumb for these things. Also, he loves to bake. I've tasted some of his desserts, and they were to die for. He hates being sick, but you know he loves to fly. If he goes flying, make sure he dresses for the weather. Other than that, you know that he loves greens, silvers and blacks; also that he would rather spend time with friends than go to some fancy party. If you need ideas for romance and whatnot, come see me. I'll try to see what he likes.”
Draco smiled and hugged her in thanks, leaving the room to get some things ready.
Draco found Severus with Remus and shook his head at their impulsive Snogging.
“Severus, I know that you like to spend time with Remus, but I have an idea for you.” Severus glared lightly at his godson, while Remus hid a laugh.
Continuing, even though his godfather was being a brat, “I know that you hate going into town for some of the herbs and plants that you need for potions, so we can make a garden. Harry loves work in a normal garden, and he can cultivate the herbs and plants for you.”
Severus' face went from angry to thoughtful, and was about to ask more when Harry walked in. Seeing the opportunity, Draco put his arm around the smaller man and asked him.
“Harry, would you mind gardening the Herbs and plants that Severus and I might need to make potions? It can help you relax when you need some time to yourself, and it could be a useful hobby when you have some free time.”
Harry's eyes lit up at the thought of a garden and smiled, “Are you sure it wouldn't be a problem? I love to garden, and it would be nice to get back into it.”
Draco smiled at his small victory and he looked at Severus.
“Harry, it wouldn't be a problem, and it would help to keep Severus and myself safe since we won't have to go into town to get the plants and herbs we might need.”
Severus nodded at his godson's words and smiled as Harry lit up in happiness.
“When can we start it? I can ask Hermione to come into town to get some of the supplies we'd need as well as the seeds and what-not to start the garden. Also, we'll need to set up a green house so that they can grow all year round.”
Harry kept rattling off things that would be needed as he quickly wrote them down. Draco blinked at how excited Harry was, and smiled at Hermione's thoughtfulness. This wooing would go by faster than he had anticipated. After a few minutes, Harry had two lists; one for the green house and the other for all the seeds and extra ingredients he needed to grow. Remus took the one for the green house and told Harry not to worry about it, and to just go with Hermione to get the seeds and other plants and herbs that they needed in extra.
