“Ron, how could you just let Harry do this to himself?!”
“Hermione, come on! I tried to stop him!”
Tried? Well you didn’t try hard enough!”
“I’m not his father! Whatever he wants to do, he should be allowed to do it!”
“Including drink himself into a coma?!”
What?! Is that what he did?! Is he okay?”
“He isn’t in a coma, it was a figure of speech.”
“Augh, Hermione, don’t do that to me! I thought I was having heart failure!”
“Sorry.”
“Well, he’s okay, right?”
“I guess.”
“You guess?”
“Well, he threw up this morning. Twice...”
“And?”
“By the time I saw him next, Mrs. Weasley had him in bed.”
“Oh, is that all!”
“She told me he had a high fever, but that he’d be okay tomorrow.”
“Well, that’s good.”
“Still, Ron, that was so irresponsible! You’re his best mate, after all!”
“Come off it, how much power do I really have over him? None, Hermione!”
“You’re seventeen, and he’s not! You could have forced him to stop!”
“And what? Have him furious at me for the next month? Brilliant plan, Hermione.”
“Well, you could have done something other than watch him binge drink for half an hour!”
“Easier said than done.”
“Oh, please! Lame excuses!” (Moment’s silence)
“Do you really think that this is my fault?”
“No, I guess it really isn’t. I have no clue what Harry was thinking.”
“Trust me, me neither. He was...really down. I felt really bad for him.”
“But you didn’t know what to tell him, did you?”
“No, I guess I didn’t. I thought he was trying to kill himself.”
“I hope not! Harry knows how much we mean to him!”
“Yeah, and he means a lot to us. We can’t lose him...”
“You’re right.” (Moment’s silence)
“He will be okay, right”
“Yes, Mrs. Weasley said it’s only a minor case of alcohol poisoning.”
“Good to hear.”
“But she said Harry will have a hell of a hangover after he’s recovered a little.”
“Ha ha, I bet he will! Maybe he’ll think next time before he does that again!”
Again?! I thought he would’ve thought before he did it once!”
“Guess not.”
“Well, if Harry tries to do this again, what are you going to do?”
“Tell him that Mum will take him to St. Mungo’s to get his stomach pumped.”
“That works. Pretty clever!”
“Ha, thank you! See, I do have a brain!”
“You just don’t use it much.” (Hermione laughs)
“What? That’s what you think?”
“Yes, it is. But come on, maybe if Harry’s awake we can cheer him up.”
“Sounds good. Lead the way. Course, Fred and George might’ve been us to him.”
“All they’ll do is make him feel worse.”
“Nah, they wouldn’t do that. Come on, let’s go.”
