"Now, you take care, Lily. I don't want you wondering off all by yourself!!" Mrs. Evans held her daughter in her arms. Mr. Evans held her in a tight embrace, and nudged Petunia, who was silently murmuring to herself.

"Take care, I suppose." she murmured airily.

Lily lunged at Petunia, hugging her with a tight embrace. Petunia was taken aback. "It's going to weird, not seeing you until the summer!! I'll miss you all! And I promise to send you a letter once I get there!!"

They helped her carry her trunk to the train, except for Petunia, who was lurking in the shadows. Once she was settled, she gave her parents a final goodbye, and when the train began to move, they had become nothing but a blur. She sighed heavily, and walked further down the corridor to find a compartment. There, she waved at a couple of first years, who looked very small and timid, and to her surprise, a young boy, with jet black hair introduced himself to her.

"James Potter." he said, holding out his hand.

"Lily Evans." she said smiling, shaking his hand.

"Do you like frogs?" he asked.

"Umm... not really..." she answered, confused.

"Good answer!!" he pointed his wand at her, and hundreds of little frogs erupted from it, , covering her from head to toe. She screeched, jumping on one foot.

"You sicko!!" she spat, running towards the end of the train, grabbing handfuls of frogs from her hair. She went from door to door, looking for a compartment, when the train gave a horrible lurch, as it began to speed up. Lily lost her balance, and began to fall backwards, when an arm stopped her falling.

"Watch where you're going!" said a drawling voice behind her.

She staggered, and held on to her trunk. "I'm sorry." she murmured shyly, and opened a compartment door, which was lonely. She settled herself in, and spent half of her time, pulling out frogs from her hair. When she was finished, the compartment door slid open, and someone entered the compartment. He knocked on the door to get her attention.

"Yes?"

The boy blushed. "Hello.... I'm Remus Lupin... I just came here to apologize."

"Apologize.... why??" she asked, confused.

"Because... well... you see.... my friend James Potter is too cowardly to come tell you in person-"

"I am not a coward!!" someone hissed from behind Remus. Lily blushed, when she recognized the voice.

"YOU!!" she barked.

James entered the compartment. "Barking mad!! Look I'm sorry, geez!!"

"Well, you should be!! It was a dirty trick, that was!!" she spat

"But you have to admit, it was pretty funny..."

"LEAVE!!" she ushered them out, and Remus apologized again.

"The nerve of that boy!!" she rested her head on the window, and the dark silhouette of Hogwarts was looming nearer, and nearer........

~5 Years Later~

A vivacious 16-year-old witch, Lily Evans, pinned her head-girl badge to her chest, with a great sense of pride. Her parents were so proud of her, except for Petunia, who felt that Lily was taking all the credit from the family, just because she was a "freak." But she didn't care less anyway, and Lily didn't bother about this at all.

Lily found her usual compartment, after patrolling the corridors and was deeply conversed with a couple of friends of hers, when the compartment door flew open, and Lily stared at the intruder with a glum expression in her face.

"Potter."

"Evans."

"I'm still not going out with you, if that's why you're here for." she said, before he opened his mouth to speak.

"You could read minds, Evans?" he asked suspiciously.

The other girls giggled, and James ruffled his hair grinning. Lily frowned.

"No Potter, I can't read minds." she responded slyly.

"Oh good... because you wouldn't want to know half the things that go through my mind." he smirked.

"Ewww.... Gross!!! Go take your dirty thoughts elsewhere!!" she spat blushing. She got up, and shut the door in his face. A piece of his robes got caught in the door, and it soon disappeared, along with a couple of loud footsteps.

"Maybe you're being a little to hard on him." one of her friends murmured.

"Oh, you're just saying that because he's good looking!" spat Lily. "He's a big-headed, egotistic know it all!!"

She was Bickering with her friends about James as they made their way to the Great Hall.

"Oh, poor James, He's in love with you, and you've rejected him so many times-"

"Oh hush up!!" spat Lily.

"Look out!!!"

She looked up, and a big, red, water balloon landed right above her head. The water had seeped into her robes, and shoes, and socks.

"PEEVES!!" she, and someone else shouted. She turned around, And a very angry looking Severus Snape, who was completely drenched in water as she was, was standing next to her.

"Fucking Poltergeist!!" he spat.

"Hey watch your mouth!!" spat Lily. They stared at eachother for a split second. "How was your summer?"

She remembered the first day they met each other. It was in their first year; She had tripped, and he had saved her from the fall. They had been enemies ever since then, especially since the incident from last year, which involved a tree, James, and underwear.

"It's none of your concern of what I do in the summer."

"Okay, okay, fine, I won't ask anymore, jeez!"

He headed towards the slytherin table, when Lily called out to him again. He paused, turning his head ever so slightly, looking very irritated. "What!?" he spat, waiting for whatever stupid thing she wanted to tell him. She pointed her wand at him, and emerald flames erupted from it. Seconds later, he was as dry as ever; she did the same to herself.

"You're welcome." she murmured. He shrugged, and joined the Slytherin table, starting a conversation with Lucius Malfoy, and Narcissa Black. Lily shook her head to herself, and joined the Gryffindor, and was interrogated yet again by James.

"Evans." he grinned.

"Didn't I make it clear!?! I don't want to go out with you!" she spat, irritably.

"I wasn't going to ask you." he murmured. "But I do want to talk about it..."

Lily slapped her forehead with her hand. "Oh, good grief...." she sighed.

He took a seat next to her, slightly smirking. "Did you get my letter?" he murmured hastily.

She blushed, and looked away. During the summer, James sent her a letter, saying that he really liked her, and that he had his set on her since they first met.

"So?" he continued.

She blushed. "I'd have to think about it." she murmured.

"Oh." he tapped his fingers on the table. "Are you done thinking?"

She laughed. "No, Idiot. I'll tell you when."

The food on the plates disappeared, and she called out for the first years.

"Are you finished thinking yet?" he followed her.

"No."

"How about now?"

"No."

"Now?" he smirked.

"NO!!!" she shouted, and walked a little further from him, though a smile had formed on her lips.

"Evans ... wait!!"

..oOo..

It was only the first day of classes, and already, Lily had loads of homework. She wondered if she was ever going to finish then in due time.

"I'll tell you what you're not doing." murmured James.

"And what is that?" she asked airily, though she already knew what he was going to say.

"You still haven't finished thinking about going out with me."

She sighed heavily, "It takes time to think about that, be patient!"

"So was that a yes?" he nudged her on the shoulder.

"I'm too tired for that, can you just drop it?" she murmured dully.

All of a sudden, he went behind her, and held her by the sides. She blushed at their contact. "What is it?"

"Snivellus." he hissed smirking. And Surely enough, Severus was heading their way.

"Just follow my lead." he whispered in her ear. Lily blushed when his hot breath trickled her neck.

"Exactly what are you planning to do to him, James Potter!?"

James froze. She had said his full name in a distasteful manner; not a good sign.

"Erm... a little hex, nothing doing...." he murmured tersely.

"No, you're not!!" spat Lily.

"That bloody git is going to get it for calling you a you know what!!!!" he hissed.

"I don't care about that anymore!!" she blushed. "Besides... he did have a reason..." her eyes fell to the floor. James turned around to face her, and held her by the shoulders.

"You actually approve him of calling you that?? Are you going to let yourself!!??"

No, I just don't want to..." He glanced at Severus, who was now talking to Regulus Black. "I don't want to talk about it." She stared at Severus, and felt her face flush when he looked in her way. She looked away quickly.

"That little shit is going to get it!" he ushered Lily out of the way. Severus had already pulled out his own wand before James did. Lily did the same also, and pointed her wand at James. Lily did the same thing, pointing the wand at James, and murmured an incantation, causing him to fall on the ground, as though a string had tied around his feet. She covered her mouth with her hand.

"I'm so sorry, I didn't meant to... I just don't want you to hurt anyone!" she knelt beside him, lifting the curse from him. James had an agitated look in his face when Severus walked off in the other direction, with a satisfying grin in his face. It just made James even angrier.

"That little fuck." James hissed, going red in the face. Then he suddenly realized he was still on the ground, lying on his stomach, and Lily was kneeling beside him... He could see her legs. He drooled slightly

"Well I better get going, I'm going to be late for class." she patted him on the head, and ran off, towards Slughorn's office, leaving a very tense looking James behind.

..oOo...

Lily rushed into Slughorns Office, panting and sweating, very glad to make it in time. She took her usual seat next to Severus, and as usual, made no comment, or made any contact with him.

You seem to get in my way all the time." murmured Severus.

Lily stared at him, bewildered. They usually never made any contact in class, and it was strange for him to start a conversation with her, especially since he doesn't socialize with "her kind."

"E-Excuse me?"

"Yes you." he snapped. "I could've taken Potter on my own. I don't need any girl to do my biddings."

"Oh, so you want me to allow him to hex you!?" scoffed Lily.

"Precisely."

She gave him a deranged look, and opened her textbook, reading to herself. She stared at him, and looked away.

"Why can't you guys just... learn to get along? You're acting real immature." murmured Lily.

"I'm not the one acting immature. It's your Potter Boyfriend, and those other bloody gits." hissed Severus.

"He-is-not-my-boy-friend!!" spat Lily, causing all heads to turn to them.

"Is there something wrong." Slughorn asked sternly.

"No Professor." Lily and Severus murmured together.

It turns out, she got more homework after all, and an extra assignment for interrupting in class. she followed Snape out the door, and caught up to his long strides. She poked him hard on the rid. He turned around startled, pulling out his wand at the process.

"Oh... it's you... Whaddayawant?"

"I just wanted to say that I'm not going out with Potter." she murmured hastily.

"And the point... is?"

"I just wanted to make it clear... seeing as you thought I was." She stared at the floor, thinking of what to say next, when she noticed that Severus was already walking away. She pursed her lips, and headed to her herbology class.

The next few couple of days were severely better than the first day, and it seemed as if nothing could possibly go wrong, until certain rumors about Lily, and James spread like wildfire in just a short amount of hours. A fifth year girl asked her in person, if the rumors were true.

"What rumors?" Lily asked, unknown of what was going on.

"Is it true... that you snog with Potter in the prefects bathroom?"

Lily spat out a mouthful of pumpkin juice, it spilled out all over her front.

"I... WHAT!?!?!" she spat.

"Is it true?" she asked again.

Lily shook her head hastily. "Of coarse I'm not!! I would not... I would never!!! Who told you this!!??" she demanded.

"A Slytherin girl told me." the girl said hastily, blushing. "That Lestrange girl."

She looked away angrily, and cleaned herself. "Why would she... say these things... about me!!??" she spat.

"The fact that you exist."

She turned around, and noticed Severus was standing next to the fifth-year girl. She gave Severus a grotesque look, and walked away. Lily glared at him carefully.

"What to you mean by it?" she asked. "Do you know something that I don't?"

Snape sighed. "I overheard them talking about spreading the rumors. It was originally her idea." he murmured, referring to Lestrange.

"I see."

They remained quiet for a moment, when he broke the silence all of a sudden. "So you two snog in public for your entertainment?"

She blushed. He was asking her this... NOW!!?? How could he possibly be interested in that!!??

"We don't snog!! PERIOD!!!"

"Right." he said, sarcastically.

She felt her mouth drop. Why was Severus interested in her personal life all of a sudden? "And why do you care who I snog with anyway!?!?! I can snog with whomever I please!!!"

"Are you implying that I snog with you, because I’ll never snog with you!!'

"Who said I was going to snog with you!!" Lily shouted, blushing crimson red.

"When you said everyone, it included me!!" he spat.

"Your pathetic!! I wouldn't snog with the likes of you!!!" she purposely crashed into him, and broke into a run. Severus gave her a disgusted look, and rubbed his shoulder. "Stupid girl."

..oOo..

Severus noticed that Lily glanced at him at certain times from the Gryffindor table. He pretended he didn't notice, and nudged Malfoy, who grinned back at him maliciously. "breaking her spirits, isn't it, that little mudblood." hissed Malfoy. Severus nodded, hardly paying attention to what he was saying. He was becoming uncomfortable under Lily's watchful gaze.

"Serves her right." Malfoy continued.

Severus nodded, and gut up from his seat. "Where are you going?" Malfoy murmured.

Severus glanced at Lily, who just happened to look his way. She look the other way quickly. "Somewhere." Severus said airily.

"Well that explains a lot." Malfoy said sarcastically.

Severus smirked, and went down to the Gryffindor table, walking stiffly. He knew he shouldn't be talking to her, especially after the strange argument they had the previous day, but he really had to tell her not to stare at him anymore. It was making him uncomfortable. He finally made it to her, and she turned around quickly, blushing.

"Severus." she murmured.

"Quit staring at me, would you!?!"

Lily frowned. "I'm not staring at you!!" she spat. "Besides, I can stare at anyone!!!"

"Well, don't stare at me then!!" he spat. Lily made a face, as though someone he had slapped her in the face. He sped off into the corridor, and she ran after him, her hair almost crackling with electricity.

"YOU STUPID GIT, YOU'RE ACTING REAL IMMATURE!!!"

He turned around, anger seething from him.

"Shut up!!! Go snog with your boyfriend, you're irritating me!!"

"I-DON'T-SNOG WITH-POTTER!!" she shouted, making heads turn their way. She made a noise that sounded like a bark, and she quickly grabbed his hand, taking them to a lonely corridor. Severus blushed at the sudden contact, and at the fierce look in her face.

"What are you doing!?! Where are you taking me Evans!?!" He looked around at the deserted corridor hastily, and pulled out his wand just in case.

"Evans-"

She wrapped her arms around his neck, and kissed him, almost angrily. He kissed her back, just as angrily as she did, but he didn't know why she had kissed him in the first place, but he didn't care, because a snogging is a snogging, right?? And she did prove a point, she will snog with whomever she pleased, hut he proved her wrong, because she said she would never snog with him, and she's snogging with him right now... and was it possible for one to think all this while snogging?

She pushed him away hastily, very red in the face, wiping her mouth with the back of her hand. she backed away slowly, a look of utmost queasiness dawning on her face. He stared at her with the same face as her, also wiping his mouth with the back of his hand. She opened her mouth to say something, when she heard something crash behind her. She quickly, as if struck by lightning, and saw James staring at them oddly, his complexion paper white.

"James-" she began.

He hissed, and stormed off, his robes whipping like a whip. How was she possibly going to explain all this to him?
