Chapter 10: The Way Home, Maybe…

 

 

Harry and Hermione were excited, what was the news?

 

“A time turner came in; I believe I found a way to send you home.” It was what they had been waiting for! “I'm not sure but so far using other time turners this process has worked 70% of the time, depending on how much is being sent back. The reason they didn't do it with this time turner is that they want to know if you want to take the risk.” This was it, a way home, maybe.

 

“I don't know I don't have any family to go back to, but Hermione you should.” Harry didn't want to be left behind but he didn't want to risk Hermione being hurt if he went with her. “You need to go back; I'll make you go back if I have to.”

 

“I won't leave you behind Harry, we can take two trips. There were five altogether, four left when they sent the first one, they sent one at the beginning of the year, one now, that leaves two left, and we can both go back without as much risk.” Hermione had come through, even with the hangover she was still the smartest witch at Hogwarts. “I think, Harry if you don't want to risk it we don't have to.”

 

“That would work; do you want to do it?” Dumbledore looked at the two students. Harry nodded then looked at Hermione.

 

“Hermione we, you at least, need to go back home, I'm sure your parents miss you a lot and want to see you again.” Hermione nodded, she was willing to take the risk to go home and be with her parents again.

 

“Go and get your things, I will wait for you to get back.” The two left to the Gryffindor Common Room to get their things and say goodbye. Harry put everything he had back in his bottomless pouch.

 

“Harry what are you doing?” It was James, his Father, someone he would be leaving behind forever.

 

“I'm leaving, Dumbledore found a place across the ocean to keep me and Hermione safe.” Harry hated lying to his Father but had to.

 

“Well that sucks, gonna miss having you around. Means we need to get a new Chaser, you're leaving right now?” Harry nodded. “Well good luck, be safe, and make sure you remember us Marauders.” Harry would, he would never forget them. “Sorry about Wormtail, can't believe he did those things.”

 

“It's ok you have no control over him.” Unlike Voldemort does, or will. “Well as long as I'm leaving I can tell you what you want to know.” James put all his attention on Harry. “To get pass the entrance just ask it to let you up, that's it, say `May I please go up' and it will let you.”

 

“That's it?” Harry nodded. “Thanks Harry.” They shook hands and Harry went down to the Common Room to wait for his `sister'. A few minutes later Hermione came down with Lily Evans, his Mother.

 

“Hermione says you are leaving, it was nice to know you two, have fun wherever you're going.” Lily hugged Harry.

 

“Thanks Lily, it was nice knowing you to.” Finally, after 15 years he got to finally know his parents.

 

“We have to go soon, sorry for the quick leave Lily.”

 

“It's ok Hermione, you need to go, bye.” They hugged again.

 

“Bye.” The two teens walked away, they left the Common Room, and went to Dumbledore who was waiting for them.

 

“Are you ready?”

 

“I guess, yes, I think.” Harry was with his parents, Sirius, Remus, he had his family! If he goes back he would have no one, if Harry went back home he would be leaving his parents behind. “Hermione you go first, if you make it then you can send me the other time turner.” This would give Harry more time to think abut what he would do. There was a humming noise as a time turner landed on the table.

 

“Ah yes Hermione grab the end of the time turner.” She did. “Now wait for it to reactivate, if it works properly you will be back in your time.” A few seconds later there was a new humming noise and Hermione disappeared. Now Harry waited, if another one came would he take it? It would be his only chance to go back, but did he want to? Here he could be with his family, kill Death Eaters, stop Voldemort before he became powerful, but then he would be leaving Hermione, the Remus he knew, Tonks, the Weasly's, everyone from his time. A new humming noise was heard and a time turner appeared. “Well Harry grab the end and prepare to go back home.” Harry stuck his hand out not yet touching it; did he want to do this? Do this and leave his parents.

 

“I can't do this, I can't leave them.” Harry started to take his hand away when he heard Dumbledore use a spell.

 

“Imperio. Harry now touch the time turner and hang on until it re-activates.” Before Harry could fight the spell he touched the time turner which began to hum. “I'm sorry I had to do that Harry but you need to go home now Harry.” The humming got louder and louder, the world began to spin, Harry wanted to let go but couldn't, the spell was still on him. The humming got louder and louder as the world spun faster and faster, was Harry going home or was he going to fall under that other 30%?

 

 

A/N Ok really short but it worked for me. Anyways hope you enjoyed Book 5.507, 6 will be out soon, maybe, it will be called

Not sure when the first chapter will be up, not sure where Harry ended up. Have two ways to go with this, he makes it home or he doesn't. One leads to a bunch of stuff, second one leads to other ways. Both work with the Title but not sure which one yet. I actually have two chapter ones and trying to figure out which one to use.
