Koenma sat in his chair rather glumly, going over this latest letter that had been sorted into his stack of paperwork. The parchment had a yellowed sort of tint to it and the emerald green ink looked as though a quill had been the writting instrument of choice for this particular sender. As his eyes followed the spidery handwritting down the page, he suppressed another groan and his hand flew to massage his temple. 'How in the three realms had this letter gotten to me? And how did this Order of the Phoenix come to know about HIM the ruler of Rekai?'
Sure, Rekai knew about Voldemort and the magical world, Harry Potter had his own file in his storage hall. It was a subject they followed but didn't interfere in, certain laws of Rekai stated that it must not interfere directly with the matters of the human or demon worlds unless such events directly interfered with Rekai. But now, a letter was in his hands, addressed to him personally, begging for some sort of help. Koenma's mind flew immediately to his Tantei, and then, just as quickly, to Enma's rage and the lost of a comfortable sitting position for centuries. He groaned again.
No, Voldemort's return did not directly alter the livelihood of Rekai, but his newest state classified him as half-demon, as near to full demon as possible. One of his jobs was to keep demons in Makai, and humans in Ningenkai. You can, of course, see his dilemma. 'How am I supposed to get my Tantei over there, without it sending a red flag to Enma?' Koenma gave his aching Temples a renewed massage, setting down this troubling piece of parchment.
Koenma sat up slowly, vowing to give it thought while his letter traveled to wherever this one had come from. he quickly penned a reply, in a heavily flourished navy blue hand. He sat back, pondering his options to send this reply and folded his hands in his lap and furrowed his brow.
"Koenma-sama! I have your Coffee, just as you like it. Starlucky's, from the human world,"the bubbly voice trailed off in worry, "Koenma-sama?"
Koenma's head had lifted and his brown eyes glittered with understanding. 'Botan! She'll take it for me, perfect!' He unfolded his hands and jumped up to stand on his desk, merely coming to eye-level with his blue-haired ferry girl. "Thank you Botan," he extended his hand to accept the mug she held out to him and bent to place it on mahogany next to his left foot and grabbed the letter near his right. "I have a job for you," Koenma passed Botan the white envelope and continued his request, "I need you to take this to London for me."
Botan's eyes sparkled, she had never been sent out of Japan before and she knew it was important. She began to open the envelope only to stop in curiosity, "Is this a list of names for me to collect, Koenma-sama?"
"No, Botan. It is a reply for Minerva McGonagall, you should be able to find her in a dimensional rift at Number Twelve, Grimmauld Place, in London." Koenma gave Botan a calculating look, "No, she is not dead, but I'm sure if you explain who you work for, they will allow you to stay while she pens a reply," Koenma ended rather pointedly. 'Hopefully she understands that with her return I'd like a yellow envelope in her hands for me,'.
Botan processed this information rather confusedly and a bit slowly, the idea being rather new to her. She eventually turned around, summoned her oar and flew out of Koenma's office and into a permanent-Rekai-generated portal for England.

Yuske and Kuwabara stood silently in Genkai's courtyard, sizing eachother up, waiting for a 'go' signal from anything. the shoji door slid open and closed and they began sparring. Totally ignoring Kurama's arrival, who sat with a rather interested apperance on his face. The two had improved greatly, since the Dark Tournament. His senses flared as Hiei landed on the roof above him and he looked up in greeting as the apparition acquired a seat of his own.
"Morning Hiei, anything new in Makai?" Kurama spoke lightly, so as not to disturb the sparring partners, and only half expecting a response.
"hn. Yukina's been acting strangely recently so I researched the providers of the tea leaves she and Genkai drink. It turned out they started adding extra caffeine," Hiei ended his speech with a huff and closed his eyes to block the lowering sun.
Kurama had to stifle a yelp of surprise after Hiei's long response, he had only half meant the inquiry, but instead managed a collected, "ah, I see," in response. Kurama stood, having lost interest in Yuske and Kuwabara's sparring match in favor of investigating Yukina's 'strange new behavior'.
Kurama slid open the shoji door and stepped through, intending to find Yukina. Kurama's path led him to the Kitchen, where Yukina's silhouette could be seen through the doors. "Yukina, May I enter?" Kurama's voice floated thorugh the rice paper with ease.
"Yes, Kurama, you may," Yukina answered him with a briskness that was indeed new, but not marked. Yukina moved from the other side of the kitchen to meet Kurama as he entered and bowed respectfully, "May I interest you in a drink? Tea, maybe?"
Kurama's eyes crinkled with a smile, 'what's the harm in accepting some tea? it can't be too bad,' Kurama's mind trailed off as he straightened from his bow, "Certainly Yukina, is there anything I can help you with?"
A confused look passed over Yukina's face momentarily and then a face of thoughtfullness inhabited her small features. "The garden needs some pruning, I suppose you could assist me there," She retreived the carafe of tea from the counter as Kurama produced a cup from a cabinet.
"Sounds splendid! But first, I'd like to hear about how you and genkai are doing here. A shrine can be a boring place to live with no visitors," Kurama trailed off, leaving the topic open for her to respond while he drank his tea.

The inhabitants of number twelve, Grimmauld Place, London, were not expecting a personal delivery. Not to mention a personal delivery by a bubbly Ferry girl, sent from Koenma. Botan, as she had happily introduced herself, was currently sitting at the kitchen table, totally unaffected by the dark house and obvious dark magic imbued into the walls. She had Mrs. Weasley in a rather excited mood, talking about nearly everything, from Botan's apparent youth, to Botan's employer, to Botan's job. Mrs. Weasley was simply taken with the girl, and had set up a room for her on the third floor of the house so the girl could stay in a room of her own while the Order figured out a response for Koenma.
~*~*~*~*~
Botan had found several young teens in a room on the second floor on the third day after her arrival. The red headed boy around her death-age had introduced himself as Ronald Weasley (Ron, for short) and the bushy haired girl the same age as ron had introduced herself as Hermione Granger (and promtly put her nose back into the book she had previously been reading, Hermione did NOT beleive any of the 'rubbish' about who she was or where she came from). There was a pair of twins, Fred and George Weasley, who were a year older than Ron and loved to cause trouble, and a red headed girl, Ginny Weasley, who was one year younger than Hermione (Ginny, on the other hand, became fast friends with Botan, beleiving every word out of Botan's mouth, even if she had to have two or three explanations of what Botan meant).
A week after Botan had found these children, Mrs. Weasley had introduced Botan to Minerva McGonagall and left the pair to themselves in the kitchen.
Proffesor McGonagall (as she qutckly explained to Botan) held out a Yellowed Envelope, "Botan, I'd like for you to tell Koenma-sama that all of the arrangements discussed in this letter are to be followed exactly if he wishes to help and that he has until August 15th to respond."
Botan blinked at this rather forward and to-the-point introduction she had been given and the directions she was handed, filed the distinct differences between Mrs. Weasley and Proffesor McGonagall in her mind and smiled brightly, "Sure, I certainly will!" Botan took the letter from her hands and bowed, summoned her oar and flew directly through the front door.

Koenma heralded Botan's return with a sigh, he had a nice vacation from serious though while she was gone. "Thanks Botan, you can sit or do whatever..." he trailed off as he received the letter from Botan's hand and sat back as he opened it. His eyes widened as he read the letter, ignoring four other letters that fell out of the think envelope, reading parts aloud accidentally, "Rule of Spirit World ... need reinforcements ... arrangements already made ... lodgings already planned ... AUGUST 5TH?!?!" Koenma's outburst surprised the poor ferry girl out of her doze. "That's in a week!!"
His shout made the walls quiver and Jorge came running in, yelling, "Koenma-sama! please calm down!! Enma will hear you! Why are you shouting?"
Koenma froze Jorge with a stare of total determination, totally uncharacteristic of the young lord, frightening Botan into standing a bit farther away from Jorge. Koenma's gaze shifted to his desk and he found the last line of the letter, "Please find enclosed the letters of Invitation for four members of your Tantei you should chose to send," his gaze shifted to four letters of equal size, with green ink swirling restlessly in confusing patterns near the center of the envelope. He reached to pick them up and thoughfully set them back down after feeling the magic coursing through the envelope. "Botan, fetch me the Tantei, plus Genkai and Yukina. They have a new assignment to receive."
