Chapter 1
He stared at the page, fighting the blush that he felt heating his flesh. There was no way that this could be happening to him. But it was and the proof was there not only in black and white but in full color that took up all of page one. If no one had suspected before they certainly had no doubt now.
His quiet shock was interrupted as arms wrapped around him from behind. He stared at the face in the picture just hair widths away from his own. It was the face he'd woken up to this morning, but why was it staring at his from the news paper. He'd nearly forgotten he was holding the coffee cup when a sure hand wrapped around it, taking a sip.
"Good morning, Gorgeous. What's happening in the world now." Without waiting for a response he took the paper and took a look himself.
"Well, they certainly wasted no time getting the new scoop!" He chuckled as he threw the paper down on the table and moved to pour himself a cup of joe. "Well, any plans for today or shall we just sit around and do nothing." He chuckled again. "Or we could do each other."
How could he laugh at something like this? Make jokes at a time like this? It was an invasion of privacy, it was...it was...a disgrace. He felt the tears silently slipping down his face as the full impact hit him, when he caught the caption under the photograph. Harry Potter doesn't seem to be acting here as he participates in PDA with unknown man! And what a cute couple they make. - full story on page 6.
Now if he wasn't confused before, he was confused now. "Who is Potter, Harry?" He ran the name around in his head.
The man he'd addressed had the grace to look ashamed before his face smoothed out into perfection once again. "It's my surname."
"It can't be. Everywhere we've gone you've been referred to as James. Harry James. But regardless, why would you been so exciting to the papers." He waved a hand at the paper. None of the puzzle pieces where fitting into place.
Now Harry looked confused. "Surely, you watch TV or gone to the movies." He ran a hand through his hair. "If if the answer to both of those are no, you're had to have heard of the actor, Harry J. Potter." He looked at the man standing stock still as the smooth skin lost it's color.
He just stood there in shock. The man he had been dating had just come out the closet, and not in the way he had. Of course he heard about the most popular, and needless to say, eligible bachelor on TV but he'd never seen the need to flock to the screen like so many of the mans admirers.
He never had the need to doubt the truth in Harry's words. There were always easy explanations to the unasked questions. Maybe, he thought now, he should have asked them. Yes, the security had seemed weird, along with the private dinners, the tinted limo the secluded areas at theaters. He shook his head. It had all seemed excessive but who was he to question the rich. It was just too much to take in.
"You expect me to believe that I've been dating 'the' Harry J Potter without knowing it? Surely, I don't look that gullible. Your Harry James, rich but surely not famo..." It all clicked, and it came with a sick filling. He'd been dating a star unbeknownst to him. He'd been sleeping with someone he barely knew, someone who didn't trust him with his true name.
"The J stands for James, doesn't it." It wasn't a question, but a statement.
Harry watched the emotions play across the blondes face. First disbelief, surprise, hope, understanding and surprisingly anger. But what stuck for him was the hope. That was what made him weary of every relationship and that's what brought his anger around.
"Surely, you do not expect me to stand here and believe that you did not know who I was! Not after all these weeks, where you played hard to get and then finally threw yourself at me!"
"Threw myself at you? You tricked me, plied me with kind words and gifts. What right do you have to be upset?" He set his cup down atop the paper blocking his face from view. "I should be the one who's angry. It was me who was lied to and outed to his family who is surely sitting down to breakfast and read the paper!" He walked stormed toward the bedroom to get dressed and away. He wasn't going home but he definitely wanted to get out of here.
"And what a way to come out! How do I know it wasn't you to orchestrated this? Maybe the unknowing family will be a little more accepting of the fag who managed to snag a rich beau."
The sneer on his face took away everything he had once thought was handsome about him. It made him sick to his stomach to think that he had ever gone to bed with someone so...so...vindictive. It was like a smack in the face to have his pain twisted and warped into a devious 'outing' And before he could stop himself his anger got the best of him.
"You figured me out." His voice was calm and composed. "I wanted to come out to my family. Been planning it for months now but didn't know how to do it without them thinking me wrong and perverted" He was dressed now and was collecting the rest of his belongings strewn across the massive bedroom.
"When I saw you in that club, I made my plan. You fell right into it and played the game just the way I wanted. I just didn't think it would take so long for it to be put into print." He kept his tone cool and impersonal.
He ignored the look of loathing on the other mans face and slipped into his shoes before walking to the front door. "It was fun while it lasted but seriously, you should have known that no one would want you without using you." He walked out the door. Not stopping to look back at the man he left behind.
Harry retrieved the forgotten coffee cups and dumped both down the sink. "You may think that you've gotten away without retribution but you haven't. You'll pay and you'll hurt. That's a promise, Draco." His chilly words rang through the empty loft. He stared at the coffee ringed face. "You'll wish you never met me."
Draco stopped once he was standing in the fresh air. Taking several deep breathes he pushed back the tears that threatened to blind him. He took a moment to collect his thoughts when a flash caught his attention. Looking around he caught sight of a woman not too far away, trying to hide herself behind a light post
"Oh, great. I can just see the head lines now." He muttered to himself as he flagged a taxi. Could this day get any worse?

"Oh, my dear lord." The woman gasped, giving way to a dramatic swoon which left her sprawled in her chair.
Hands fanned her face trying to chase way the rising heat that colored her face."Dear, what is it? What's happened today in the ghastly news?" But he didn't need her to answer. He saw it himself in the paper she had let flutter to the table. "Is that who I think it is?"
Splashed across page one was his son, his only son, in the arms of a man. They looked to be in the throes of forbidden passion, without a care in the world.
Picking up the paper he, hastily turned to page 6, thinking there must be some mistake. He read the half page article that what spliced with other photographs of what appeared to be other dates.
Actor, Harry J. Potter was caught leaving the club several weeks ago arm and arm with what appears to be a new love interest. It appears to be a whirl wind affair, as seen in the photograph (page one) the couple only have eyes for each other. The two where seen leaving a private viewing of 'Wicked' wrapped in each others embrace. This appeared to be only the first of a series of dates that the couple would be observed on.
Later that week, the couple were seen enjoying a romantic dinner at the hot new restaurant in downtown Chicago, Soulmate. Apparently for our favorite actor, the meal held no flame to his dining partner. The meal lay forgotten moments later when he pulled the mysterious man to his feet and made for the door.
This whole affair comes just days after his very public break up with with co-star Blaise Zabini. The two where thought to be 'destined to be together' and after a year of romance it ended in heart break. Sources say that it was staged but pictures prove that one party was more then devastated. (Photographs can viewed online.)
Phone calls to his agent yielded no hints as to who this lovely gent is or the seriousness of the relationship.
"Mr. Potter is human like everyone else and he is entitled to his privacy like everyone else." Hermione Granger (a friend) was quoted saying through a telephone interview. There no further comment on the subject she was observed saying leaving her office later that day.
We are informed however that the eligible bachelor may no longer be eligible. "All in due time. We can't expect love to just be announced on a whim." His publicist told reporters in an exclusive interview. (interview page 10)
His flippant dating habits may be at an end for all you love struck fans. But who is this mysterious man that shattered all our dreams?
Her patted his wife's hand. "Don't worry, dear. We'll get to the bottom of this." He picked up the phone and dialed. Getting the answering machine, he left a brief but clear message. "As soon as you get in your mother and I are expecting a phone call."
