Prologue
“This is madness, Gregory. Pure madness. I haven’t agreed with many of your decisions, but I went with them. I did not, for instance like the fact that you chose Lily Potter, a 22-year old woman, to rule the legendary Rose Crusaders. But now, you speak of wanting a mere 18-year-old boy to rule us? I forbid it!"
"But this is not madness, Geoffrey. And this 18-year-old boy is now mere young man. he is St. Rose's son. he has every right to rule. I know this very well. And you do not rule us at present. With Lily's guidance, we overthrew Millicent Bagnold, and sent her packing for good. And now, we will do the same to this new dictator trying to control us. I will request his prescense."
"You will destroy us!"
"I will do no such thing."
"First you bring in Lily Potter, now a young whelp! Next I suppose you'll be asking Draco Malfoy to rule us!"
"You do not scare me."
Geoffrey could say nothing more to Gregory to change his mind. Geoffrey knew that Gregory was 65 years old, but still as witty and clever as ever, not to mention stubborn. But, the harm that this boy could do to us...all because he is her son, not because of any greatness, Geoffrey thought in spite. He'd wanted to be St. Rose ever since he'd joined the Rose Crusaders, some 45 years ago. But, with gregory appointing new St.s all the time, Geoffrey never had the opportunity at all. he was angry, angry and envious, that an 18 year old could be leader when he, at 65 years old, could not. But, Geoffrey knew that trying to convince Greg otherwise was a waste of time. He was fighting a losing battle...but he could not deny that Lily had been a great leader, when she was alive...
