Dear James,

I’m starting this at about 4 a.m. You’re probably thinking that that’s no way to begin a letter, but that’s what time it is now. I’m not sure why I woke up, but I just felt like writing.
Lupin says the scratching of my quill is waking him up, so I’ll write back later. I guess I’ll try to catch some more sleep.
Back again. This time Lupin and I are both awake. We’re in the middle of breakfast right now, so if anything gets on this letter, it’s probably my fault.
So, how was your and Lily’s honeymoon? You went to America, didn’t you? I think Wormtail said something about Washington D.C., right? I’ve heard it’s nice there in the spring.
So, while you and Lily were dancing under the cherry trees, Lupin and I were stuck inside, watching the rain pour down the house. Hope you’re happy! I’d give anything to have been where you were. I still think you two should come over!
