Scene 4

 

[Ten seconds of silence after Harry had left, all looking at each other uncomfortably.]

 

Molly: [Voice squeaking.] Is that letter authentic?

 

Vernon: Of course it is, here have a look. [He hands Molly the letter.]

 

[Molly waves a few spells over the letter, and frowned, giving the letter to Arthur after doing some basic revealing spells. Arthur then did some of the revealing spells himself and frowned as well.]

 

Fred: Can we try and see if it's a fake?

 

Arthur: Sure. [Hands the letter to Fred and the twins begans working on the letter for about two minutes, trying every spell they knew. Including soaking the entire parchment in purple ink and it revealed none.]

 

George: It seems that this letter—

 

Fred: —is authentic, it's really is true. He wrote—

 

George: —the letter himself. Five years ago in fact.

 

[Silence]

 

Ron: I'm going to kill Dumbledore when I see him after I die.

 

Molly: Ron!

 

Fred: I don't blame you, I think we should torture Dumbledore.

 

George: In the most painful way possible.

 

Ginny: Leave a piece for me, too!

 

Molly: Children! I—I can't believe you. He really must have had his reasons…

 

Ron: Didn't you hear the letter? He was practically preparing Harry as an object, to control! Do you want him treating me like one, mum?

 

Molly: Well, of course not—

 

Ginny: I'd feel very violated if someone took control over my life—oh wait, someone already did. Voldemort. [Molly and Arthur winced at the name.] Mum, dad, you really need to stop reacting like that. If I can say it with no problem at all because of my experience, then you shouldn't too. Anyway—

 

Ron: We're sorry for torturing you, Dudley.

 

Fred: Solemnly sorry for that.

 

George: Although, you'll have to admit—

 

Fred: —that it was funny beyond hilarity.

 

Dudley: [Flusters] Er—um… okay.

 

Ron: I'm going to go find Harry. [Gets up from the table.]

 

Molly: No you won't, someone on guard duty will be watching him.

 

Ron: Right, the load of help that will do to Harry! [Leaves the dining room, ignoring Molly's pleas.] Hey, someone here? I need to find Harry.

 

[Alastor Moody revealed himself from under the invisibility cloak and nodded.]

 

Moody: Kingsley has gone after Potter. What happened in there?

 

Ron: [Rolls his eyes.] Just show me where he is.

 

Moody: Fine. [With a flick of his wand, he sent a silver message off.] I'm just calling for someone else to stay guard here while we go off.

 

Tonks: [Apparates in, raising an eyebrow.]

 

Moody: Stay, I need to lead this Weasley to Potter.

 

Tonks: What—[Sputters in confusion as the two boys left.]—wait a min—! [Tonks shook her head at the front door and used the De-illusional spell on herself.]
