Hellsing Fan Fiction ❯ Abraham Von Hellsing's Journals ❯ Book 1: August 10 - September 23, 1834 ( Chapter 1 )

[ Y - Young Adult: Not suitable for readers under 16 ]
This is.. well, I won't say a side-story.. more like just some extra information for the story "Hellsing Goes American". It CAN be read alone, same with "Hellsing Goes American - Cat's Medical Notes" (also an extra for "Hellsing Goes American").. this is just for if you want more info to try and figure out what's going on before it's revealed in the story and/or want to see what Abraham wrote in his journals (my idea of it anyways). Please forgive the spelling, I know it's terrible. =T__T=

ALSO: I do NOT own Hellsing or anything else mentioned in this fic

This was requested by my babies, Riko, Umi, and Namari. Love y'all! (and of corse I love Minoru, Saiyuri and Azuki as well! even though they aren't allowed to read the main story I still want to say that!)

Please no flames! This is my second (or third.. I'm writing this at the same time as the Med Notes and the main story) fanfic.. Constructive criticism is more than welcome!

Abraham Von Hellsing's Journal
Book 1: August 10- September 23, 1834

August 10, 1834

Just returned from London. I was called in to look at a young woman whom had been attacked just a few months prior by a wild dog. They should have called me in sooner! That was no wild dog but a vampire in disguise, I recognised the symptoms immediately. She was a friend to the couple who called on me for assistance and the husband, a Mr. Jonathan Harker, pulled me aside and informed me of a vampire whom has just moved to our country and was, he suspected, trying to seduce his wife. We've aranged for Seward, Holmwood, Morris and myself to meet at the Harker residence tomorow night as Morris is away at the present time. Mr. Harker has been fortunate enough to be able to keep his wife from leaving their home after dark for about a week now, so one more night should not hurt.

August 12, 1834

The vampire managed to escape us last night. The fool had actually come to the Harker residence to find the young lady. He is a very powerful vampire to be sure, but nothing we cannot take care of. On a happier note, XZI-G592 is working better than expected. We were hoping for it to help with the issue of the sunlight, but it seems to also give these creatures more strength. I am going to try adding a bit more of the active ingredient to see what it will do. Hopefully, something interesting.

August 13, 1834

I've been hunting this monster for years and now we may finally have our chance to capture Dracula. What a glorious day that shall be! Unfortunately, Mrs. Harker has gone missing. I believe it to be the work of that beast. He knows I'm on his trail again and seems to be geting quite desparate. Never before have I known the Count to be so foolish as to continue to torment a woman when he knows we know he's playing with her. We shall have him soon, then I can begin my gratest experiment yet!

P.S. The modified XZI-G592 - XZI-G593 was a failure. It killed the subject instantly.. not even a bit of suffering on it's part. Hopefully we will have better luck with the next one.

August 15, 1834

I was so excited, I'd forgotten to write yesterday. Oh what a glorious day it was! We were finally able to capture the infamous Count Dracula! Unfortunately, we were unable to find Mrs. Harker although we had indeed seen her with the monster durring the chase. She will show up eventualy. She had been turned, after all. Ah! Everything is ready for the ceremony. After tonight, I will have a new servant and pet unlike any other!

August 16, 1834

It is too early to know if the ceremony was a success or not. We atended Morris's funeral this morning.. just a normal funeral for a dear frend. Steward and Holmwood are in the study, worrying themselves to death as to if the ceremony worked or not. I do wish they would stop their insistant prattle for at least a few hours. I've just injected one subject with the latest XZI-G594, it didn't seem to do anything, but we will see. The Count is still unconcious from the ceremony.. it seemed quite painful on his part.. good. Because that monster deserves no mercy for his crimes. I wonder just how long he will survive our experiments.

September 1, 1834

Nothing new with the Count, he has yet to wake.. I'm begining to wonder if he is indeed dead this time. The subject I'd injected with XZI-G594 went berzerk today and displayed a grand increase in strength and speed. It killed several assistants and one doctor before being restrained properly. We are going to wait a few more days to see what else this drug will do to it. Also, GMV-5 has turned out to be a failure. While productive in the immunity to silver at first, after a couple of weeks it began to rot the subject from the inside out. We will need to work on this one a bit more.

September 2, 1834

The count has awakend finally. He was quite angry too, especially when I dumped a bucket of cold water on him to try and remove the stench. He'd thrown up sometime between wakeing and my getting to his cell. Disgusting. But now we know the seel is fully functional and working as the witch said it would. He tried to attack me and was immediately repremanded by the seel. I could not help myself from laughing at the look of immense pain upon the creature's face. I've decided, also, to rename him. It shall not only be fitting of his new position, but shall also help in breaking him down mentally. After much contimplation I've decided to merely turn his name around. I find it rather fitting as his life has been reversed, so shall his name. I shall tell my new pet of this tomorrow when I go back to check on him.

September 5, 1834

My pet is fighting me every step of the way. He absolutely refuses to drink the pigs' blood he's been given, which is fine by me, let the fool starve himself. He's started his training today, beginning with the issue of garlic. As to why it affects these creatures the way it does is sill a mystery. Tomorrow I believe I will take him out to the garden for a bit and start working on getting him immune to the sunlight. If he never becomes immune, then he will merely go out and bake every day for my pleasure in watching him squerm.

September 6, 1834

He put up one hell of a fight to stay out of the sun, but in the end, Alucard still faced his demons in the sun.. after a good beating, of coarse. 'Twas such a lovely day. Not a cloud in the sky. Although, in my mind I can still hear the monster screaming as he baked.. Ah! I shall most certianly have pleasant dreams this night. Perhaps I should beat the creature more often, it seemed to have a favorable effect.

September 7, 1834

Harker has finally come to his senses and gave his wife over to me for experimentation. She is not the same women he married and he has finally realized it. Mina is being kept in the basement under the east wing, Alucard's cell is in the basement under the west wing. I fear that problems may arise should he discover her here. I do believe I will try something new with her, it is also for Harker, somewhat. I wonder if it is possible to turn one back into a human.. The Vatican wishes to try and create a vampire. They think it would help in returning a vampire to a human.. I really don't see how that would help, but they can do as they please so long as they continue to aid my experiments financially. I have also sent out for a new toy for my pet, a special whip with silver imbeded into it. I cannot wait to see it and try it out, but for now the usual silver rod works fine. The stupid beast still refuses to yeild to me. That shall change soon enough, however.

September 8, 1834

My pet has finally given in and drank the pig's blood. Oh, the look on his face when he tasted it! It still makes me laugh just remembering the way he cringed!
Ah! and the subject injected with XZI-G594 has settled down enough to return to his normal cell.

September 9, 1834

Experiment T-37 expired today. It was not a complete loss, however, as we learned that takeing out the toung results in the subject bleeding to death as such a wound refuses to heal. It also seems as though Alucard is planing an escape. The fool! I can't wait to see what he comes up with, it should be quite interesting.

September 10, 1834

Alucard seems to be waiting for something, the right time, perhaps, to try his escape. He also seems to be useing his time during his beatings and sunning to think about his plan. It apears to help him tolerate the pain.

September 11, 1834

It just isn't as much fun to torture my vampire when he doesn't scream and beg. Oh, I do wish they would hurry with that whip! It shall be such a joy to hear his screams again. XZI-G594 has had some interesting results. The subject is able to withstand far more pain than before and is showing signs of increased mental activity.

September 12, 1834

I've found a new way to torture my pet! I simply place his food just out of reach and let him tire himself out trying to get it. It is a great amusement to watch. Alucard has even tried to gnaw his own limbs off and dislocate various joints to reach it! After about two and a half hours the other doctors and I took pitty on the creature and I kicked the bowel to him. Also quite amuseing was that he actually licked it up off the filthy floor! Every last drop! He brought me such great amusement this morning that I decided to give him a little treat. He was given the option of cleaning the library or going out to sun again. I am quite astonished at how well he did. Why, I havn't seen the library this clean sense Father passed away!

September 13, 1834

I wonder what has caused such a change in my monster. He is cooperating.. Perhaps it's finally gotten through his thick skull that it is far more productive to cooperate than to try and fight your master. He has much to learn when it comes to cleaning, especially making beds as I let him clean my bedroom today in exchange for only half of the normal time sunning. I really need to find a diferent reward for him as he still needs to do his sunning to see if it is posible for the creature to become immune.

September 14, 1834

Today Alucard learned an important lesson: Never try to eat the staff.
He managed to find a loophole in my comand to not harm any human. He somehow got one of the assistants to cut himself so that he could take the blood. Damn vampire!

September 15, 1834

Mrs. Harker has finally woke and we have began her testing. We started with a dose of GMPV-3 which has shown in previous subjects to reduce their strength to that of a human's. Alucard has yet to regain conciousness after his extra long sunning session yesterday. He needs to be whiped into shape before the Vatican's representative arives in two weeks. His visit will determine wether or not they continue funding the project.

September 16, 1834

The whip I sent for has finally arived! It's just beautiful and works wonderfully! The beast was lucky it was raining today, so there was no sunning. Mrs. Harker has yet to show any changes. We shall wait a couple of days before giving her the next dose.

September 17, 1834

I have my pet scrubing the kitchen floors at the moment, he's going out to do some sunning after he's done with this. I do so love my new toy! Alucard is still recovering from his 'introduction' to the whip and keeps having to go back and clean up the blood. I cannot help but laugh at how frustrated he is at this! Oh, he's going to be so happy when he finds out that he's going to have to go out to the garden wether he finishes or not. We've started working on GMV-6 and pray that it works this time. -~* Oh, my! I must end this entry short, my pet has just scard one of the kitchen maids. *
he made a weird accedental scribble*

September 18, 1834

Yesterday was such a good day. The kitchen maid Alucard scard was bringing in a new set of silverware that I'd orderd and dropped it on him! The poor girl was so frightend, especially when he began to smoke when it fell on him. I took pitty on the poor thing and gave her the rest of the day off. Alucard was given the rest of her chores to do after sunning (I told him it was for scaring the girl) and a bath. We don't want the house smelling of burnt flesh, now do we? He was up until at least 3:00am finishing the chores. Mrs. Harker was given her second dose of GMPV-3 this morning (it took fifteen doses for our test subjects before they were back to their original Human strength). It will be about a week before GMV-6 is ready, we have to let a few of the chemicals set for a few days after mixing them before it's usable. I wonder what it is that makes Alucard so diferent from other vampires. Is it something that's genetic or perhaps he was just taught well in the ways of war? I had an assistant take a blood sample for testing this morning while he was being given his daily dose of garlic.

September 21, 1834

DAMN VAMPIRE! The damn monster tried to escape (and almost succeeded!) while I was buisy with a client! Damn him! Damn him to the deepest pits of Hell! He'd been planing this with the test subject for XZI-G594 for God knows how long! I must say, however, that XZI-G594 is most certianly a sucess. The test subject could barely form a proper sentence, now he's helping to concoct elaborate plans of escape! He's been moved to a cell at the other end of the West-wing basement (as opposed to his previous cell that was right next to Alucard's) with far better security while Alucard, the obvious mastermind of this scheme, has been punished sufficiently.. I beat the son of a bitch until I tired myself out, then let an assistant or fellow doctor have a turn (whomever was next in line). I supervised, of corse. I cannot have my pet die. We took a break whenever he'd pass out, then start again the moment he awoke. His punnishment just ended half an hour ago.

Here's what their escape plan was: It was quite ingenious, actually. Alucard had been useing his time doing chores in the mansion to look for a suitable escape rout and places where he could set up diversions. I'm not sure how the test subject got involved or at what stage of the planing. Durring his chores, Alucard left a few candles burning, siting on the very edge of various tables in strategic locations throughout the mansion so when there was the slightest disturbance, they'd fall atop a highly flamable surface. The test subject had moved a few things in the lab that was next door to the testing facility where he is tested for new effects of XZI-G594. They waited for a day that he was in there and I was away before going through with their plan.

The test subject slammed into the wall connecting the testing facility and the lab, knocking some viles of specific chemicals off the table set against that wall. These chemicals explode when combined. The explosion was the first diversion, the next was the fires started by the candles that fell when the explosion shook the entire mansion. The test subject had managed to hide a needle (probably under the skin near a wrist) and use it to pick the locks of his shackles while everyone was panicing over the fires. Alucard was upstairs tending to his chores at that time (or was supposed to be doing so), had secured them both uniforms that the staff wore and they both snuck out in the midst of the confusion. He also secured them both some rain coats to keep out of the sun, it also helped them to blend in as it was raining.

They would have gotten away if I hadn't forgotten some supplies and caught them on the way back to fetch them. Alucard was easily apprehend, but we had a bit more difficulty with the test subject. He managed to evade us for almost three days, but we captured the monster in the end. He's curently being punished in a similar fashion that Alucard was, though not nearly as severe. He's not as strong as my pet and we need him alive to see if there are any further effects of XZI-G594. It's been a long three days. I'm going to bed early tonight.

September 23, 1834

The incompatent fool that was left in charge of the test subject for XZI-G594 went too far with the punishment and beat him to death. I'll get back to that project at another time, I have too much else to do at the moment. Alucard is unable to do much else than lie there and whimper. Hopefully this will teach him that it's useless to try to escape. Mrs. Harker was given her third dose of GMPV-3.. It does not seem to be working as well on her as it did on our test subjects. I can only wonder why.
