The sound of swords clashing echoed throughout the walls of the enclosed room as two figures dressed in white danced around one another. Both of their faces were hidden by protective masks. One figure appeared to be having more trouble than the other. It’s movements were slower, and its breathing harsh. Finally, it’s torment ended as the other figure pointed it’s dull, rounded blade at it’s throat. “ You’re dead.” The voice was muffled from behind its mask.
The other removed it’s own, long, black hair with a hint of grey pulled into a tail fell from the mask. The face was old and wrinkled, and looked as if it had a story written on it. The man let out an exhausted breath and reached into his pocket. He pulled out a handkerchief and wiped the sweat off his brow. “ I’m afraid I’m not much of an opponent for you any more, Sir Integral.”
The other removed it’s mask, long, platinum locks of blonde hair escaping it. Her face was much younger, yet also looked as if there were a story on it, but only well hidden. She ran her hand through her hair to remove it from clinging to her face. “ You really shouldn’t let me win, Walter, I’m not a child any more.”
“ Sir Integra, I’ve never let you win, even when you were a child.” Walter said with smile. Integra chuckled at his comment, then reached into the pocket of her fencing suit and pulled out her glasses. She carefully placed them on the bridge of her noise, then gently adjusted them into place. She turned and started walking away, pulling off her gloves as she did so. “ Would you care for some tea?” He called after her.
Integra kept walking, but talked back to him over her shoulder. “ Yes, that would be nice. Please bring it up to my office in about an hour.”
Walter gave a bow. “ Very good Sir.”
Integra was now walking down the corridors of the manor that eventually led to her bedroom. She seemed not to notice, or either not to care, that the path behind her she just took began to darken. Hundreds of red eyes emerged from the darkness, all of them gazing at her. They followed her as she walked. When she paused in her movements, they quickly vanished. “ Alucard.” She called calmly. “ Was there something you wanted?” She asked in the same tone.
The shadows on the walls began to move rapidly as form as one. The jumped to the floor in front of her and outlined the form of a man, though, Integral knew it was no man that was about to appear in front of her. None the less, she remained firm in place. When color finally took over the blackness, the form revealed it’s true nature. It’s skin nearly as pale as snow, yet still held some darkness in it. Coal black hair rested unevenly upon it’s shoulder’s. It’s form bowed before her, hiding it’s face from her sight. “ Good evening, Master.” The voice was low and sinister, and held a hint of humor.
He then rose, standing tall above Integra. A slight grin on his face, as if it was it’s natural state. His eyes, which were focused on the floor below, were red as raging blood and bare of his normal glasses. The same was his head of it’s normal covering. “ What is it you want?” She repeated. And by the change in her tone, it was visible that she did not like to repeat herself.
Alucard picked up on this, actually he already knew this. “ I have a request.”
Integra seemed some what amused. “ Go on.” She was interested now.
“ Master, the police girl still refuses to drink, thus she is growing weaker. I do not think it wise to send her on the mission tonight.”
Integral’s amusement was no longer. This was not a topic she liked discussing. “ Well, Alucard, she is your responsibility, you should make her drink. However, it has already been planned and decided that she is going on the mission tonight. It is too late now to change it. The men need her there tonight.”
Alucard then lifted his eyes to look into hers “ She will be of no use to you if she goes in starving. She may even turn on her own men.” He replied with a bit of annoyance in his voice. However, Integral heard the annoyance as clear as day, and was more than aware of his rebellion of eye contact. Her eyes narrowed into slits and she glared at him.
“ You forget your place.” She somehow managed to make that sound as a threat instead of a simple statement. When he lowered his eyes once more and remained quiet she continued talking. “ What does it matter to you anyway. I would think you would enjoy the sight of you’re fledgling feasting upon humans. Unless of course, you’re actually worried about her?” She raised her eyebrow at this.
Alucard grinned. “ I was merely concerned that she would fail in her mission and bring disgrace to the honorable Hellsing name.” His words reeked with mockery. He then lowered into a small bow. “ Please forgive me for forgetting my place. I shall leave you..”
“ I have not dismissed you yet.” She cut him off. He straightened from his bow. “ You will awaken Seras and brief her on the mission tonight. After, you are to report to me before and after the mission, understood?”
“ Order accepted. Do you wish anything else?” His mocking was gone, but only replaced with humor.
Integra glared at him once again, then sighed. “ No. You are dismissed.” He gave another bow, then traveled back into the shadows which he had emerged from.
About an hour had passed. Integral was now sitting behind her desk, dressed in her usual attire, and sipping on the tea that Walter had just brought. With a small bow, he exited the room. But just as he left, another entered, but not through the door. Integra gently set down her tea, then looked up to Alucard, who was now standing in the middle of the room. He kept his distance, with his head low. “ Is she ready?” Both knew who she was referring to.
“ She is prepared, but not ready.” He said blankly.
Integra looked at him a moment, her eyes revealing her annoyance with his behavior. “ Then you may start the mission. Report to me as soon as it is accomplished.”
“ If it is accomplished.” He muttered.
“ What was that?” Integra tone was angry now, although her features appeared normal.
“ Nothing. I will report to you later.” And then he was gone. Integra sighed, then walked out of the office.
