Chapter 2: Troublesome night.

"F'ki, why where you so impatient, I could hear your call form Dover. As I recall you where very good at dealing with the Craving for Blood. Or is there any other reason you called out for me" Allucard asked, his face going from amused to smug to a feral grin.

"Eep!" was all Victoria managed to say, her face burning red.

"Is it my teasing, or you really missed my company?" now Allucard's smile went only smug again, for he could hear Victoria's thoughts and knew exactly what she tired to stammer out.

"B…B…But didn't you… you…"

"I wouldn't fade out even if 99% of my mass where destroyed. Now that I took care of some other problems, it's time for me to deal with you. You didn't really take my blood, you know that…"

"Oh"

"So de facto you are still mine! And when my protégée is crying form an empty stomach and loneliness, who an I not to help him?" that sounded strange coming form a complete monster like him, but somehow it still made sense.

"I can't just" she begun, only to be cut short of a sentence again.

"I know, that's where I come into the picture. You can relax, I won't force anyone to give their blood to you, but there is a solution to your problems.

"But…But…"

"Don't worry, I'll come with you".

"Really, you won't leave me just to make fun of me?"

"When did I do something of such kind to you?" He sounded almost hurt "But then again you have witnessed my sense of humor too much to trust me. That's good, until you start cultivating one for yourself" he ended grinning again and burst into maniacal laughter, seeing that he made her also smile. He felt the pain of loneliness in her subside. Now it might take a lot of work to make a real vampire out of her, but this is certainly the first time in the year I had her as my protégée I really had the time for her… good grieve that the order is temporarily out of business, after 140 years I finally have some business myself!

"Now, young lady, listen to me. I've been a posh aristocrat, social lion (or rather a very convincing impersonation of a lion by a large dog, MUAHAHAHAHA!) for over seven centuries. Trust me to teach you some tricks about socializing with humans and vampires alike" except for the dog part, he sounded like a parody on a Victorian era manners teacher. Victoria gasped and landed on her butt form the shock of his behavior. "Good that you now sit, we can do this more efficiently, police girl. I'm going to be on the inside of your head and help you along, but first we need to dress you up"!

"What's wrong with my clothes" she asked him in indignation, pointing to her lockers. Dracula gave them a quick scan.

"Nothing at all, they're excellent, I didn't know you own gothic clothes. Form what I think I saw about you the only thing distantly resembling a vampire trait about you was your hunger for blood. You are the owner of gothic clothes? Ha, that is unthinkable!" the grin of the maniac teacher form Pink Floyd albums didn't even change all the time he grilled her for having what he though where decent vampire clothes "What you where, some kind of Metal fan?"

If she had some blood left, she would have blushed, but her banks where really low so she only got dizzy "Yes"

"And what kind of this wonderful music you prefer? Alternative, Industrial, Electronic, Death, Black, Doom, what?" Alucard was intrigued by the fact Victoria liked that kind of music. He thought it was some kind of thing she wore because she wanted to look tough, not that it would help her in the past, maybe now…

"Power, Heavy, Fantasy" he answer threw him off balance. These schools where almost as obscene in their anti-occultism as church hymns! They spoke of warriors of right and might, of angels and gods of light, of Gaia and Iron of love and rage. Victoria loves this kind of music; it meant that she'll fit only into one ideology of vampires, one which had taken a severe beating over history. The smile on his face vanished as his jaw hit the floor. Even someone as ancient as him could be surprised! But then he exploded into giggles then into laughter of epic proportions, even for him.

"HAHAHAHAHAHA! No way, this hilarious! You like Fantasy and Power Metal! What kind of vampire are you? Proper vampires like Death, Black and Doom, or Electronic music, or classic, or tango, but no way Power and Fantasy! That's as bad as a vampire liking church hymns or cantor singing! HAHAHAHAHAHA, you are the funniest little vampire I've all my life, that's why I fuss so much!" then he stopped as suddenly as he begun "Sing me your favorite song, Police Girl".

Victoria filled her lungs to the full and stood up to gather up resonance:

I wish I had an angel
For one moment of love
I wish I had your angel tonight
Her voice rung clear as church bells, melodic through the use of the supernatural hearing of the vampire girl, rich with warmth and passion, truly it was Victoria's voice.

Deep into a dying day
I took a step outside an innocent heart
Prepare to hate me fall when I may
This night will hurt you like never before

Old loves they die hard
Old lies they die harder
Suddenly her voice broke into that of a Nosferatu elder, hoarse form pain and jealousy, angry at the world, just like Incognito's. The change had shocked Alucard.

I wish I had an angel
For one moment of love
I wish I had an angel
Your Virgin Mary undone
Then she returned to her original singing voice, answering herself as if she were the two voices needed for the song. He didn't know the song, though it sounded likable enough to him.

I'm in love with my lust
Burning angel wings to dust
(Alucard smiled at that line, for it was very emotional for him)
I wish I had your angel tonight

I'm going down so frail `n cruel
Drunken disguise changes all the rules

Old loves...

I Wish...

Greatest thrill
Not to kill
But to have the prize of the night
Hypocrite
Wannabe friend
13th disciple who betrayed me for nothing!

Last dance, first kiss
Your touch my bliss
Beauty always comes with dark thoughts

"Marvelous! This is grate, you should do this for a living, not to shoot up helpless ghouls like we do now!" he grinned at her, truly happy to see her smile back. It seems that the music driven out the last remnants of melancholy out of her, and she was ready for the continuation of the evening.

"Now be a good girl and dress pretty, because today it's a rare "quality time" for us, F'ki"…

Two vampires walked the streets of Night-time London. Walked, for one of them could not yet transform, nether to an animal, nor to mist or bats. She was barely a year old in her new life and the few powers she have gotten where still limited to the "Improved Human" range, nothing fancy as her master could pull off.

"Master?" Victoria Celes blushed thinking how she looked, almost running to keep up with her master's long stride. Probably like a high school girl with her older boyfriend, except they weren't holding hands. But the looks she was giving him where more studying and attentive than affectionate. He was her Teacher and Master, but she didn't love him any more than a student loves his favorite tutor. That's exactly what it was and they where in the middle of a lesson.

"Yes, Victoria, what is it" he asked smiling his content smile. Usually he got one after a full meal (which usually left casualties), a good gunfight or a quite time with his friends and clan members. Having his newest cub by his side made him fell three hundred years younger, back when the continent was torn by strife and the Light Stick clan had a lot to do.

"You've said that you are going to find food for me but… But I don't bite people"! The statement came form deep within her immortal soul. Celes couldn't bring herself even to contemplating something like that. You couldn't just grab someone and take his blood for food!

"I know, and I'd like that to stay that way, F'ki. Today for lesson 1 in "vampirism 101" "how to pick the lick". His smile turned into an "I know something you don't" that the math teacher in high school used to get before he started explaining something completely new.

"Please, pretty please tell me already" the cuteness was a play, not a real thing, because no matter how hungry Celes was, being with her master brightened her mood, that and the promise of the relief of hunger. But it was by all means the right way to for a toddler to demand something form its parent. It came complete with a pout (disclosing cute little bloodsucker fangs) and puppy eyes (and cat years for those of the Asian imagery)

Alucard burst laughing at the display.

"Oh, by all means, young lady" his manners suddenly went totally proper English, his voice going on like Father Maxwell's, dry and monotonous, the proper voice of a lecturer in the college "Today we will encounter the basic means of feeding: Bank Vendors - blood banks also have their dispensing machines, you know, Lick Clubs where humans submit willingly to predation by us for the kicks of it, Dark Back Streets with rats and lowlife humans who're the last resort. There are other ways to get blood, but that's for the more advanced class", he finished, as they turned the corner to a dead end street not far away form St. Albert hospital.

"This" he pointed at a metal double door with a small window on the right top side of it. "This is the vending machine. It accepts what humans call Quid, but we call them "Phunt". You knock on the window, place the money on the tray and the corrupt medical staff member will present you with a refreshing drink in a minute at most. Stationed between…" he was cut off by the window opening and an indigo haired young man sticking his head out, shouting at him

"Who'ja call cor'pt, yu old sod"? On perfect Londoner accent "Haven't had enough, shishkabab prince? My price is too much for your lined hind?"

"Stop it, Nathan, I meant it as a joke, here, meet this young lady, her human name is Victoria Celes" Alucard introduce her.

"Ain' got no vampire name yet, miz"? he asked, his face a mask of wonderment and his brown eyes scanning her form knee height to chin (anything a man sees in an attractive young woman is in that exact area alone), then coming to focus on her face. To see a blushing vampire is a rear enjoyment for someone who works with them.

"I… don't… don't know" she stuttered, feeling awkward. What kind of human was he to ask her questions?

"Nathan here is a human liaison of clan Forger, they are the clan of the Caribbean, and one of the few neutral blood vendors in London and he operates this vending machine. You hand him cash and he hands you fresh blood, simple like that". Alucard finished, noticing the lack of comfort in Victoria's brain at the idea.

"But what if some living human needs that blood dose and we take it for ourselves selfishly? That's pure evil, I can't do that!" she finished, turning away.

"O.K, if you don't like this option, what way you think is blood best acquired?"

"Given willingly, knowingly, to sustain life" Victoria hammered out form what she learned in the paramedic school.

"That's what 'e have on our hands, people gave their blood knowi'ngly and willi'ngly to allow others to live. What difference dose it makes really if that blood goes to some hemophilia sick geezer or to an idiot who got into a pub fight, or to you, a law abiding vampire who's life the blood will prolong for sure?" asked Nathan, clearly Victoria's reactions shocked him, he never met a vampire older than a day who refused blood on moral grounds. And by the looks of it she was turned for almost a year!

"But… how much?" she stammered out, finally her hunger took over.

"The costs are: Whole Blood for fifty quid, pasteurized red cells &plasma drink for twenty, white cell and pletates serum for eighty, Dated cells& plasma for twenty. That's for Type 1+, other types costs go up for availability!"

"What difference does it make?" Victoria asked, mystified for the different types of infusion bloods. She was a medic, but her knowledge ended with normal human anatomy. From before being turned she was sure if someone tried to rape her she could rip his neck artery open with her teeth, now she needed not to trust her instinct to where she should bite. That is if she ever decided to bite.

"Ok, the Whole blood contains all the parts and is less then 12 hours old, it's like biting, but chilled. The pasteurized is what you drank all the time until now. It's like milk, it can sustain you, but it's not the best thing. The white serum is like cream, it is much more nourishing, but you can't take stomach it yet, it's a food addition for sick puppies. Dated cells is a mix which expired, it's like expired date food, it can sustain you or make you sick, you never know. The types and RH is something I have no opinion, such ideas of modern idiocy".

"Oh" Victoria's perplexed expression faded and her hand fumbled in her coat's pocket, to produce a wallet.

"You take credit cards or…" she asked, almost making a joke.

Alucard's eyes almost fell out of their sockets. She still had a credit card of her own, which could only mean that she was still registered, had an ID number, records in twenty official agencies.

"In Judas I trust, all others pay cash, young lady. Now show me the money" Nathan was amused by the offer of a credit card.

Victoria handed him two ten pound notes and was rewarded by a blood bag.

"Cheers" Nathan said and shut the window with an audiable metal clank.

"Now we go to St. James park, drink this bag of blood and then I'll show you other ways to get blood"…
