Chapter 5: Fun with Master and Pet (and Pet)
A few weeks had gone by and Alucard had taught his pet the basics; sit, stay, come, attack, release, play dead.... release and stay were the hardest ones, especially when there were gouls and freaks attacking him... or Seras getting to close to him...
Walter had insisted that he teach her to eat like a civilized person, so that's what he was currently doing. He groaned inwardly to himself, this just wasn't working.
He kept handing her the fork and showing her what to do, but she didn't feel like she was able to get enough food on it and kept grabbing for the plate with her free hand. Then when he got tired of having to grab her hand away from the plate, he decided to hold her arm down with his shadows..
She tried desperately to move her left arm, then looked up at her Master with tears in her eyes. He sighed and tried to not let that look get to him, but damn it was hard. "If it were up to me, Sweetheart, I'd let you eat any way you pleased.. My Master will only let you stay if you learn to behave properly, and that includes how you eat... Please try, for me?"
She blinked at him a few times before looking at the fork he was making her hold and back to him with a look that pleaded 'do I have to?'
He sighed as he ran his fingers through her hair, "You do want to stay here with me, don't you?"
She looked ashamed of herself as she looked away and he let go of her hand to let her try herself. She just couldn't get it, the stupid thing didn't want to cooperate.. and damn it, she was hungry. She began groweling at the fork and food and started stabbing the food with frustration.
He quickly grabbed her hand with a small chuckle, "Now now, patience... Like this." He showed her again, readjusting the fork in her hand so she held it correctly, then guided her hand.
He gave up after a good hour and a half and just let her go at it with the promise that they'd try again tomorrow.
It was almost three hours past dawn as Walter entered the room to find Saya eating like an animal and her Master slumped back in his chair looking like he'd been up for three days streight.
"I have been trying for the past three and a half hours.. I'll work with her more tonight." He stated grumpily as a reply to the buttler's annoyed look.
Walter shook his head in defeat and went ahead tidying up the room, almost getting his hand snapped off when he went to get the girl's plate before she'd gotten that last crumb.

Integra was interupted from her paperwork around 11:00pm by her servant wanting to show her a new trick his pet could do. She begrudgedly watched as he pulled a lazer-pointer from his pocket after setting her down and pointed it at the wall where she'd see.
Her eyes widend, it was back! She followed it with her eyes as it moved to the floor and pounced on it when it got close enough.
Where'd it go? Where'd it go?! THERE YOU ARE! -she pounced on it again, then chased after it, even tried biting at it a couple of times.
Alucard and his Master were trying so hard not to laugh and make her lose focus, she was just too cute! She was chasing down that light with the same determination as a spazmatic kitten. Then he pulled a mean little trick on her and turned it off just as she pounced on it.
She sat there a moment watching to see if it would escape from under her hands. It didn't, and she looked up at her Master with pride that she'd caught it for him.
She slowly pealed her hands off the floor and was shocked that it was gone! She looked around frantically for the light, sniffing at the floor and going in cercles trying desperately to find it.
He couldn't help himself, Alucard fell flat on his ass laughing. But she wasn't giving up! She would catch that light for her Master if it was the last thing she did!
After calming himself down, he turned the lazer-pointer back on and made the light 'run' up a blank part of the wall and watched as she chased it. She even tried to run up the wall to get it!
She tried to climb up, jump up, she just couldn't reach, then she had an idea. She scampered over and behind a chair, peaking her head out from behind it to see if the light was still there, and it was.
She snuck up around the side and wiggled her little butt in the air just before she sprung across the room . She gained enough momentum to run a few steps up the wall and frantically tried to snatch the light before she fell back to the ground, twisting at the last moment to land on all fours.
They were both quite surprised at how high she'd managed to get as she glared at the light that sat there teasingly just out of reach. But she wasn't giving up! She backed up past the chair this time, never once taking her eyes off the light and tried again. And again.. Each time she backed up a bit further and got a bit higher.
After a few more tries she was wore out and left it there on the wall with a growel that said 'I'll be back! Just you wait!'
Her master was still sitting on the floor, so she sleepily crawled into his lap and curled up for a nap after one more glance at the light to make sure it wasn't comeing near her Master. She dreamed sweet dreams of catching that damned light for her master as he let her sleep while he went to work.
