Alena stared up at the ceiling of her room after another sleepless night. Yet again her sleep evaded her from another series of emotions and thoughts that clouded her mind. She still felt the emotions that seemed to make her body not get its restful sleep. Her eyes wandered to every corner of the room keeping her distracted from her thoughts. The room seemed to lack interest to her as she continued to distract herself.
She thought about her necklace which was given to her by her ex-boyfriend that held so many memories. It was a cross that held a skull in the middle while having rubies on each end of it. It was beautiful she cherished it, even though they weren’t seeing each other anymore. She held the cross in her hand getting her emotions under control hoping that they wouldn’t come out and bother her. But instead she decided to stay where she was, watching a figure appear in front of her.
The cloud revealed a boy her age standing before her in black clothes staring at her with a blank stare. He had huge bags under his eyes reflecting the emotion that she felt. She stared at him showing him that she didn’t care that he was there at all.
“Hey Leth” she whispered making sure not to bother her foster parents.
He looked at her walking over to her bed sitting at the edge yawning in a low voice.
“Alena did you have another long night again?” he asked.
“Yea I’m tired, but it seems that my body doesn’t wasn’t to rest, so I’m just laying here” she answered.
She scooted over on the bed allowing him to lay next to her. She turned to face him laying on her side coming face to face with her, which didn’t seem to bother him much at all. He was more focused on being tired then realizing how close she was to him.
“Well your exhaustion was enough to bring me out” he said letting out a soft laugh.
“You didn’t have to come to me you could’ve stayed where you were” she replied.
He looked at her “Like I had a choice your tiredness was so strong it was hard to stay away” he explained “Usually I would leave you alone”.
“Well I don’t mind you being here, I need company every once in a while” she replied.
She looked at him still with curious eyes trying to see if he would react to the answer that she gave him. Like always he didn’t react instead he stared at the ceiling like she had did before. His mind went completely blank listening to her as well as going off in to his own little world. She saw that his mind started to wander watching his face become relaxed and clam still keeping the tired look on his face. The clock on the other side of him read three in the morning making her feel that she needed to be asleep.
Leth suddenly felt a hand grab his clothing making him look down at Alena’s hand that firmly had grasped the fabric of his shirt. She pulled his body close to her wrapping her limbs tightly around his body. This did surprise him, he felt her hug tightly on to his body not giving him time to react. She felt herself grow very tired the more she clung on to him the more his power seeped in to her pores.
“Leth before you jump to conclusions I’m holding you so I can fall asleep” she yawned.
He didn’t say anything instead he wrapped his arms around her body holding her closer to him. Now she was confused by his actions as well because it was rarely that he showed affection in any way. But she decided to ignore it and slowly closed her eyes focusing on sleep instead of Leth. Her body started to relax getting ready for sleep while he rested his chin on her head. Alena felt comfortable with him as she fell in to a deep sleep resting on his chest. Leth laid there holding Alena feeling awkward that she was absorbing most of his emotion before closing his own eyes. Alena and Leth fell asleep together Alena knowing that he would probably disappear when she awoke.
Alena awoke the next morning still in Leth’s arms not surprised that he hadn’t disappeared yet. She looked up to see his peaceful face that still seemed to be so far away resting in the deep sleep that he was in. She slowly unwrapped his arms from her body slipping out of bed making sure not to wake him. Leth didn’t seem to be bothered, his soft snore was her assurance that he was still asleep. He sprawled across the bed causing her to smile at his sleeping form.
She slipped in to the hall way passing her brother without a word rushing in to the bathroom. Her brother never talked to her unless it was to make fun of her or demanding something to be done. He was a sophomore at her high school making her the older sister or almighty ruler of the house. But usually she didn’t use that title instead she decided to leave him be. She slammed the door behind her hoping that Maggie wouldn’t gripe about it when she came out.
Alena took a quick shower allowing herself to feel the hot water which woke her up quickly. She needed to get to Leth before Maggie discovered him in her bed causing her to have to make up a story for the boy in her bed. She wrapped a towel around her body running out of the bathroom heading straight for her room right before Maggie came up the stairs. She closed the door behind her, putting her back on it hoping that she wouldn’t come knocking.
Maggie knocked on her door “Alena why did you close the door on my face?” she asked.
Leth looked up from the bed sleepily before widening his eyes in surprise after hearing Maggie’s voice. He suddenly focused on something real quick, nodding after relaxing his face meaning that he had made himself invisible.
Alena opened the door “Well I’m getting ready for school and I’m sort of in a hurry” she explained.
Maggie had an annoyed look on her face meaning that she wasn’t falling for the lie. She looked over Alena’s shoulder scanning her room for anything that looked out of the ordinary, but found nothing. She let out a huff before walking off to find her brother, Jayden, who seemed to be missing in action. Her hand pushed her door closed relieving the panic that was building up inside of her. She looked behind her to see that Leth just sat there trying not to be a nuisance.
She seemed to be at ease with the situation as she walked over to her closet. She opened it before she noticed that Leth was still in the room. She gave him a look which meant that she wanted to be alone to have some time to herself. He disappeared leaving her all by herself no worries what so ever hopefully. Someone suddenly banged on her door making her jump out of her skin causing her to give a loud shriek.
“Hey weirdo you need to hurry up, I need to go to school too not just you” Jayden yelled from the other side of the door.
She quickly grabbed her clothes choosing a black shirt that said ‘Bloody Heart’ in big read letters that looked like they were painted over with blood. Also she decided to wear a short black skirt that went halfway down her thighs showing off a little skin. She pulled her cross out of her shirt making sure that it was visible instead of hidden from the world. She looked in to the mirror that lay beside her bed seeing what she looked like making sure that she looked okay to walk outside. Her long Black waterfall of hair reached down all the way down her back almost reaching her backside.
Her sapphire blue eyes grew darker the more she looked in to the mirror giving her that eerie feeling, like always. She grabbed her bag and cell phone walking over to the door where her half brother was waiting impatiently. He took one look at her before grunting in disapproval yet again of her attire which he always seemed to do. She walked downstairs with Jayden on her heels no foster parents in sight to make her life miserable. Today must have been her lucky day not to see the terrible twosome this early in the morning.
She walked in to the kitchen grabbing her car keys that rested on the counter making her way to the garage. Her brother went ahead of her opening the door nicely allowing her to go through it as well. There in the garage she saw it the beast that she loved always looking sexy even thought it was stuck in a very old garage that it resided in. In front of her stood her Black Nissan 350z parked next to Jayden just waiting to burn some rubber. She walked over to the drivers side getting in unlocking the passenger door so that he could get in as well.
Her key found its way to the ignition bringing the car to life with just one turn. With an instant kick start it roared before settling down with a low purr trying to please its master. Happiness flooded through her as she opened the garage door before hearing a high pitched laugh that could cut through glass. A girl appeared behind her in the partial backseat making sure that she was invisible to the human in front of her.
“Hi! Alena good morning to you!” she yelled.
Alena looked at her before deciding to speak with her thoughts instead of her actual voice.
‘Hey Innocent morning to you too’ she thought.
The girl had short blonde hair that slightly went past her jaw line. She lip and eyebrow were pierced along with her ears having multiple on each ear. She wore a tight dress that was black with red rose along the side of it with vines and thorns that were black but were outlined in red. She was about two inches shorter then Alena give or take a few inches.
“Why are you talking in in your head, you can just talk to me with your normal voice” she explained.
Alena looked at her ‘Um I guess that you haven’t seen my brother sitting next to you yet, have you?” she thought.
Innocent looked beside her looking at the 16 year old kid sitting there with a bored expression on his face. She smiled looking him in the face still remaining invisible examining the boy in front of her. She looked him from head to toe enjoying the view before noticing what she was doing was wrong. Innocent sat back in her chair looking ahead making sure that it wasn’t obvious that she had interest in Jayden.
“Hmm so you still haven’t told your family about us, but I see that there is a reason why you can tell them” she said.
’Yea they love me enough already’ she grumbled.
The school came in to view show its enormous structure that seemed to tower over many of the students as they entered through its doors. Alena looked at Jayden’s face seeing the extreme embarrassment that seemed to dance across his cheeks. He slightly lowered himself to wear his head at level with the window hoping that nobody saw in the car with her. She stopped next to the curb as she saw his little group of friends walking on the sidewalk getting ready to enter the school.
He looked at her puzzled “What are you doing?” he asked.
“Dropping you off so you can go talk to your friends” she replied
His eyes went from her face to his window seeing his friends stare at her car waiting for him to emerge. He opened the door slamming it behind him running off to join his friends, who’s faces lit up with joy at the sight of him. She drove off without a word while Innocent hopped in to the passengers seat with glee. As Alena found a parking spot close to the school so that she wouldn’t have to walk as far to the school.
“Wow that was really nice thing that you just did” Innocent said.
“What I’m not that heartless geez!” Alena replied.
Innocent laughed before making a serious face “Who are you and what have you done with the real Alena?” Innocent asked.
She was waiting outside of the car since all she had to do was teleport out of there while her master climbed out the car at a human pace. Alena just stared at her, her eyes giving away the answer causing her demon to retreat a few steps. Innocent kept a safe distance as she followed her master to the school. Before they reached the doors a boy appeared looking demented in a way. He wore a black shirt with a purple pentagram on it meaning that he meant business and big time. His hair was jet black as a piece of it covered one of his eyes. His eyes glowed red with humor looking Alena straight in the eye waiting for a reaction.
Alena glared at him “Fury what are you doing here!” she hissed.
He just gave her a grin meaning that it wasn’t good or something was going to happen and it wasn’t good. Luckily no one was around to hear her talk to herself in an angry manner.
“Hi Alena you rang babe” he answered playfully.
Fury had that mischief look to him which only made Alena trust him less meaning that he wasn’t getting away with anything today.
“I didn’t even call you, my anger wasn’t even that strong, looks like you came on your own free will” she explained.
He listened before looking at Innocent “Scram” he whispered.
Innocent looked at him in surprise before disappearing in to thin air leaving them alone. Alena didn’t want her to go, but it seems that Fury wasn’t in the mood for her jolly aura. He looked like he was having a bad just like her, or maybe he was just in the mood. Before Alena could testify to his appearance two muscular arms wrapped themselves around her waist surprising her. She turned her head revealing her best friend Rave trying to give her a bear hug from behind.
Fury crossed his arms looking at the two hugging friends in front of him which seemed to only add on to his mood.
“Umm can the bastard holding my master let go of her before I get really mad” he growled.
Rave looked around “What was that?” he asked looking around.
Alena shot a glare at the demon from the corner of her eye before returning her attention to Rave.
“I don’t know, but lets get to class before we’re late” she explained.
He nodded following after in to the school walking in to the mass of students that seemed to go on and on. She walked to her locker opening it, and putting away her bag and other materials. Hoping that Fury wouldn’t hurt Rave when she wasn’t looking even though he couldn’t see him. She turned around just in the nick of time to see that Fury was about to tear Rave to shreds. She cleared her throat getting his attention stopping him dead in his tracks.
Fury looked at her hoping that she would let him hurt her best friend. She shook her head before she got Rave’s attention keeping a close eye on her demon.
“Hey lets go” she said
Rave looked at her and nodded “hey did you ever figure out what that noise was before?” he asked.
She frowned “I don’t know maybe it was just your imagination” she replied.
He said nothing more as they ran to class going separate ways running in to a different hallway. She ran to her science class making it through the door just before the late bell rang. The teacher looked up to acknowledge her, looking away so that she could start class. Alena looked around the room spotting her friend in the back waiting patiently for her. She walked silently to the back a few kids gazing up to look at her as she passed by.
She finally reached her destination sitting in her without a word not causing a scene.
“Morning Alena” her friend said.
“Hey Luna long time no see” she replied.
Luna had blue black hair that seemed to slightly go past her shoulders showing off her pale skin quite well. She wore all black like Alena but instead she wore jeans. Her face looked so perfect showing off her green eyes that pierced anyone who dared to look at her. She also had a secret that only Alena and her ex-boyfriend knew, Luna was immortal.
“So which demon is with you” she asked lucky that the class wasn’t in hearing distance.
“Fury, he showed up after I got mad at Innocent” Alena whispered back.
Luna turned her attention to the front of the class making sure that she was looking at the lesson that the teacher was writing on the board. Alena looked around for Fury until she saw him sitting next to her in the chair between her and Luna. She jumped when she saw him getting the attention of a few classmates in front of her. She suddenly grew red with embarrassment mouthing sorry to them before they turned away from her. She glared at the demon beside as he gave her an evil grin that made his face glow.
“Where were you?” she hissed.
“Right next to you Alena” he replied innocently.
“I find that really hard to believe” She said.
Luna looked at her “Don’t tell me Fury is right next to you?” she asked.
Fury made himself visible to Luna “Hi Luna long time no see” he said.
Alena turned her attention to the teacher letting her friend catch up with the demon of destruction and anger like he was a common person. But she decided to ignore it and focus on her note that she was taking.
“Alena do you love me?” Fury asked.
She looked at “Yes you know that” she replied.
“Well if you really love me then you would let me kill one of the these humans for your and my amusement” he pleaded getting closer to her.
She looked at him with shock that he would even suggest doing that.
“No Fury” she growled.
“But Alena” he whimpered.
“No” she said giving him a cold stare.
He looked away from his master in pure anger giving Alena the same emotion as he grabbed her hand so that she could feel what he was feeling. Anger filled her using up all her energy just to not make a face. Fury desperately tried to get her under his spell but it seemed not to be working. She needed to do something or it would result in an outburst in front of the whole class. Luna obviously was oblivious to what Fury was doing as she continued to take notes and go off in to her own little world.
There was only thing that she could is get on her other demons to deal with the situation. She decided to call his brother instead of the others because they were to scared to even touch him. She couldn’t call him right instead she felt a second emotion which happened to be hate in order to summon his brother. A cloud formed next to her revealing the demon of hate, Venom and all his glory standing there invisible to human eyes. He looked around at Alena before focusing his sights on his brother who seemed to be happy that he was holding her hand.
Venom stood there wearing a black shirt that said ‘poison’ on it that went slightly past his waist. His pants looked very tight but he seemed to be quite relaxed. His white hair glowed in the florescent light above showing off his blue eyes perfectly well. Venom walked over to his brother snatching his hand away from hers shocking him.
“What the hell Venom what are you doing here?” he asked.
“Our master thinks that you need time to cool off so lets go” Venom explained.
“Thank you Venom” Alena said sweetly.
Venom grinned at his master before grabbing Fury and disappearing in to thin air. Alena sat there with a grin on her face sitting there with victory written on her forehead. Luna looked at her with a confused look mouthing ‘Where’s Fury?’ she asked. She just smiled turning her attention to the front of the class room listening to the teacher. Luna decided not to ask any questions and get on with class wondering what her friend was thinking about.
Alena decided to block her emotions before anymore interruptions showed up to ruin her day. The school day went by great lunch was okay, but it seemed that she was getting lonely in her last class. Luna wasn’t in this period with her so she felt like having some company to keep her sane. She felt bored out of her mind watching the teacher walk around watching the students work. Suddenly Leth appeared in the empty desk keeping himself invisible looking just as bored as she was.
She looked at him expression less as he flashed a grin at her remembering what she had done earlier.
‘What are you smiling about?’ she asked.
‘I heard about what you did to Fury’ he laughed.
She thought about it before remembering what she had done to the angry demon.
‘Oh yeah, Fury was starting to get on my nerves so I had Venom take him away’ she said.
Leth laughed causing Alena to look at him in disbelief, she had never seen him laugh before. He held his sides from laughing so hard almost falling out of the seat that he was in.
‘he was so pissed when he got back, then he started regretting what he had done to you but he has to stay away from you until you summon him” he laughed.
After he said that Alena became sad inside because of the fact that she did that to Fury but it was worth it if she was going to keep her sanity. Suddenly a cloud appeared on the desk where Leth was sitting revealing a girl sitting in front of the demon in the seat beside it. She had blood red hair the went all the way down her back almost reaching her waist. Both ears were pierced along with her eyebrow opposite of Innocent’s piercing. She wore a white dress that went all the way down to her ankles only wearing Heels so that the dress wouldn’t fit her like a tent.
Alena saw the look on Misery’s face which matched her own, it was very sullen and depressed. She sat there for what seemed like forever until she moved her head to look at Leth before focusing on her master.
“You rang?” she asked in a quiet tone.
‘Hi misery, you must know why you’re here’ Alena replied.
The demon looked around “Not a clue” she frowned.
Leth let out a puff of Breath get their attention for a split second before being ignored once again.
‘I feel sad about what I did to Fury’ Alena whispered.
Misery looked at her in disbelief cocking her head to the side not fully understanding what her master just said.
“You’ve got to be kidding me Alena what’s with you and your softness?” Misery asked.
’Well I did summon Fury on accident but earlier I kind of made him angry by telling him that he and I couldn’t kill anybody’ Alena answered.
Misery and Leth stared at her both in disbelief that Fury had even suggested that to her. Usually they warned him about doing it because it would lead Alena down the wrong path, but it seemed that he didn’t listen to them this time. Leth felt a little angry himself towards the anger demon for asking that kind of question to her. Misery expected it more then she bargained for but this time it was during school and moments away from her transformation tonight.
“I’m am going to hurt him for even suggesting that” Leth growled.
“I agree lets kill him in his sleep” Misery suggested.
Alena looked at them ‘You will not touch a hair on his head!’ she growled at them.
The demons in front her hissed like snakes as if trying to provoke a response or a challenge. Alena looked at them in confusion watching them with carefully looking deeply in to their eyes. They were filled with enough hatred to make Venom go crazing with power. But she couldn’t figure out who they were directing their hatred towards. She looked behind her at the students in the classroom sitting quietly still doing their work.
But she did notice something odd in the air around her a sort of power that she recognized.
‘Why does the air feel weird’ she asked.
Leth and Misery continued to hiss glaring towards the other side of the room. Alena continued to look in the direction that they were looking at trying to find the reason for their actions. She spotted a girl sitting on top of a desk looking directly at her as if she were watching her the whole time. She was pixie like with black hair the reach half way down her back. She had crystal blue eyes just like Alena like she was a mini her. Alena knew exactly who she was, her mind registered who the demon sitting on the desk.
“Remey” she whispered.
