The day was bright, it was high noon in the middle of Summer. Hatsumi wiped the sweat from her forehead with the back of her kimono sleeve. "It's so hot today." She complained to herself. She hefted up her basket filled with vegetables and a bag of rice. She frowned, the basket was so heavy. It wouldn't be so bad if Akane hadn't run off with a few other girls to go see the new samurai in town. She was so boy crazy, Hatsumi shook her head. She hefted it up one more time, her arms felt like they would be pulled out of their sockets.
In the smoldering heat she walked through the crowds arching her back backwards to keep from dropping the heavy basket. Her face was red and her hair was starting to become flat with sweat. Making it home she dropped the basket with a relieved sigh. "I'm home!" She called out. Her mother greeted her, "Where's your sister, Hatsumi?"
The young girl smiled, "She um, she helped me bring these and left to go with her friends to the shrine, they said something about a wish." Hatsumi couldn't tell her mother Akane was off flirting with samurai. The poor woman would have a heart attack. And if her father found out, there's no telling what would happen.
Hatsumi's family wasn't poor, but they weren't well off. They lived in a rented house owned by the Tachibana's. The Tachibana's were rich of course, they rented out many homes to families who didn't have land passed down to them, or couldn't afford to buy land. The Narita's were one of those families. Her father was always away making money for the family. He worked under the Tachibana's, he was often sent to other cities. Hatsumi didn't understand quite what he did while he was away.
The Tachibana's were high class people. Mr. Tachibana was always away on business leaving his wife and son in their mansion on the rented out property. Mrs. Tachibana was a snob, she of course only wanted respectable people living in the rented housing. To keep from being kicked out everyone acted accordingly, the house wives often gossiped, of course Hatsumi's mom usually stayed to herself, there was no use making trouble, she always worried Tachibana would try to kick them out. One word from Mrs. Tachibana to Mr. Tachibana and a whole family could be homeless!
Then there was Ryoki, the Tachibana's son. Arrogant, smart, good looking, snot-nosed Ryoki. Hatsumi feared Mrs. Tachibana like her mother, but she especially feared Ryoki. Ever since he pushed her down the stairs of the shrine she just couldn't be near him. She avoided him as much as possible, scared he would beat her up or call her names. Even now at the age of 17 she still had that fear. Maybe he would push her down the stairs still, if he had the chance.
"Hatsumi? Could you get your sister, I'll have dinner ready soon." Her mother was boiling rice.
Hatsumi was playing with her little brother, Hikaru, "Sure, mom." She tickled her little brother, "I have to go get Akane, I'll come back and play with you." She laughed as he giggled and squirmed. He made a noise of disappointment but knew she was coming back so he would wait patiently for her. Hatsumi stood and dusted her kimono, "I'll be back!" She waved over her shoulder as she left the house.
The sun was lower now making the sky a dark orange. All the buildings casted shadows and the wind seemed to pick up. She had to admit the sound of the wind chimes made it seem so much more cool out. She sighed, finding her sister shouldn't be too hard. All she had to do was look in the local taverns. That's where all of the passing samurai go. For some reason Akane just thought they were so manly, she didn't want a book worm, she wanted a swordsman with huge muscles and long hair.
Hatsumi shook her head, she didn't like the thought of falling in love with someone who would go out one day and might or might not return that night. Glancing into the bar Hatsumi could see Akane flawning all over a gruff looking samurai. He was guzzling sake. She clenched her jaw, 'If Akane or I are seen in there it could get back to Tachibana!' Hatsumi thought cursing her sister's taste in men. Sighing heavily she marched into the tavern.
"Hey cutie, you want some of this?" Came a man's drunken voice.
Hatsumi blushed and scurried to her sister's side. "Akane, we have to go. Mom sent me to get you." She whispered in the girl's ear. Akane seemed annoyed, "Alright, I'll be there in a minute, ok? Go on without me." Hatsumi looked around nervously, didn't this place make Akane nervous at all? The older sister was so nervous and blushing. Akane on the other hand was enjoying herself, she shouted, "Drink! Drink! Drink!" along with the crowd. Hatsumi tugged on her sister's sleeve, "I'll wait for you outside. Ok? Don't take long, mom's waiting." Akane shruggd her off, "yeah, yeah."
Hatsumi looked around at the drunk, happy faces and scurried to the door. She reached the door and stumbled tripping over her own feet. Yelping she cursed herself for being such a klutz. On top of that she knocked someone else over, too! Both bodies toppled to the ground infront of the tavern, a place where little Hatsumi shouldn't have been.
"You stupid little klutz!" Yelled the male voice, obviously he was the one she bumped into.
Hatsumi bowed still on her knees, "I'm so, so sorry, sir! I didn't mean to!" She continued, "Please forgive me!" She looked up blushing and froze. Any color in her face left and she quivered in fear.
Ryoki Tachibana stood up before her, he was staring down at her with the nastiest look of disgust. "You little idiot! Look at my clothes!" He pointed to the dusty spots all over his cornflower blue kimono. She stared in shock and horror, what should she do? Ryoki's eyes narrowed, "What are you doing in a tavern?"
Hatsumi looked back at the building filled with laughing men. She looked back at Ryoki, then back at the bar. She looked up at his angry face again and bowed instantly, "Please don't tell your mother! I'm begging you, please don't!"
Ryoki blinked, a little confused, "tell my mother..?"
"I'll do anything, just please don't tell her!" Hatsumi's face was bright red.
"Anything..." he repeated. He thought a moment as she bowed so servant-like. He smiled, "Get up."
She stopped bowing and looked at him. He was smiling?
"What are you waiting for? Stand up I said!"
Hatsumi raised instantly to her feet her eyes wide and alert. His smile widened and he commanded, "Follow me." She didn't know what to say. What did he want? She was so afraid but she couldn't help but follow him. She watched his back as he walked ahead of her. She followed obediently, "W-where are we going?" Her voice was small and her face was still flushed.
They left the front of the tavern, the streets weren't busy this time of day so next to nobody saw their squabble on the street infront of the bar. Hatsumi looked around and noticed they were heading towards the surrounding woods, not far from the village, just out of ear shot of anyone around. She was shaking with fear now, what did he want? Was he going to hit her?
She was so caught up in her own thoughts that when Ryoki stopped she didn't know and bumped into him. Yelping she looked up at him as he spun around to grab her arms. He was irritated, "You're a real klutz."
"W-what are we doing here?" She asked.
"You don't want me telling my mother about your trip to the bar do you?" He smiled devillishly.
"N-no. Please don't tell her, she'd have us kicked out! I can't do that to my family!" She was panicking. Whap! Ryoki stared down at her, "Quit rabbling!" He ordered. Her lips sealed out of fear he would hit her again. "I wont tell my mom if you become my slave. You have to do ANYTHING I say." His eyes narrowed down on her.
Her lip trembled, "But... "
"If you don't become my slave I'll tell my mother about your trip and how morally corrupt you are, she'll have your family kicked out as soon as possible."
Hatsumi's eyes welled up with tears, "No, please don't I'll do anything!"
"Good... Slave." His brown eyes scanned her body. She was wearing a pink kimono with darker pink flowers on it. Her brown hair was pulled up and tied into a bun, it was a little dishevaled. The obi around her kimono was also the darker pink color. Her eyes were large and innocent, a little darker in color than her hair. His hand reached up and grabbed the flaps of her kimono.
She gasped and gripped his hands, "What are you doing?"
"You're my slave, I can do what I want with you. I want to see what my slave looks like, all of you." He batted her hands away and tugged loose the top, pulling the fabric so it hung open. His eyes lit up at the sight of cleavage.
"Ryoki don't!" She was blushing and pulled away. He pulled her back, "Address me as, 'Master'."
She still clutched her kimono closed, "Don't touch me."
"I can always tell my mother. It's up to you." He was so calm and quiet.
Hatsumi's face dropped along with her hands. She didn't protest when his hands reached into her kimono and cupped her breasts. She couldn't look him in the eyes, she kept hers closed tight. 'Mom's gunna be so mad that I'm late.. MOM!' Hatsumi pushed Ryoki away, "I have to go! Mom's waiting for me!" With her heart beating so fast she stared at him a moment while clutching her kimono. Ryoki was glaring, "What?" Hatsumi continued hastily pulling her kimono together and tucking it into her obi awkwardly, "My mom sent me to get my sister! I have to get home they're probably wondering about me, I have to go."
"Fine, but you'll meet me at the top of the shrine steps tomorrow at sunset, and that's an order."
Hatsumi nodded and ran off, her geta clapping loud on the hard dusty ground. Ryoki watched after her, she had a very nice, thin body. He could see it in her slender ankles and wrists. She wasn't the most beautiful girl, but she was good for practice.

That's the end of this chapter. That was more of an introduction. I'll try to put in better descriptions and stuff. I hope you enjoyed it. It's kind of just like the book, it follows the same story line, though that may change in the future. I'd like to get some reviews on this too, so please review. Also suggestions are welcomed!
