InuYasha Fan Fiction / Fan Fiction ❯ Dreams of Reality ❯ Confession ( Chapter 10 )
Inuyasha was stunned, he stood motionless as Leyna made her escape. Leyna ran as fast as she could through the crowd. She kept running until she was back at the fountain where she had seen the damned vision that was causing her so much pain. She stood watching the water fall gently into the fountain's pool. She felt an urge to run her hand through the water that had collected in the fountain. She walked over to the fountain and sat on the hard edge as her right hand made its way to the water. Her hand moved through the cool water as she felt an energy coarse through her veins. Her eyes widened as the water moved up into the air, its molecules taking the shape of two figures.
Inuyasha finally found himself able to think clearly. He searched through the crowd, but was unable to see Leyna anywhere. He closed his eyes , and inhaled the sweet smell of roses mixed with jasmine which was obscured by her fear. He opened his eyes and made his through the crowd in search of her. His heart knew what he needed to tell her, what she needed to hear. He continued to follow her scent, back to where she had received her vision. He stopped moving when he saw a captivating sight. Leyna was sitting on the edge of the fountain, her hair falling out of the bun. An unseen and unfelt wind was causing her hair to blow around her face. Her hands were moving in delicate motions, and what seemed to be frozen water figures danced along to the movements of her hands. Inuyasha took a few steps closer and realized the two figures were of him and Leyna. The figures seemed to be dancing. He kept walking until he was directly behind her. He placed a hand on her shoulder, and she turned to him. Her eyes were not her's, the didn't reflect her osul but instead an espty hollow. The figures kept dancing as a voice which he didn't know spoke to him.
"Inuyasha, it is time. Leyna is not human, this you already know. Her destiny and her past are calling to her, as are yours. Soon, the time to fight will come and you must not let her do it alone. Do not fret about Kagome. She will find her true mate soon, along with her past. Your friends are linked to Leyna's true past as well. Don not let her fight alone. That was her mistake last time."
Inuyasha was about to say something when Leyna's eyes closed and she slumped back a bit. After a few minutes, her emerald eyes fluttered open. She found herself looking into two amber orbs. Inuyasha watched as her eyes turned to a deep gray which caused his heart to ache. She sat up and pulled away from his touch. The two figures stopped dancing and fell into the fountain water. Leyna reached into the water and picked up the icy cold figures which felt like glass. The figures were intrically etched to look like her and Inuyasha. Inuyasha felt that this was his moment to speak, so he did.
"Leyna, don't be sad. I'm not going to leave you because of your vision. I know, as you saw, that Kagome was under Kikyo's control, but I never loved her. I was already planning on breaking up with her before you came back."
Leyna turned to look at him.
"Why?"
"Because she isn't you. You know that Inu Youkai mate for life, and technically we mated even though I never marked you. You are the one I want to spend the rest of my life with. I should have never gone with Kagome, I was just trying to avoid the pain in my heart. Leyna, I will never leave you. I still love you."
Leyna stood up and faced him. She looked deep into his amber eyes with her now midnight blue eyes. She wrapped her arms around his neck and placed her lips to his. Inuyasha wrapped his arms around her waist as he put all of lover for her into the kiss. Leyna pulled away and stared at him.
"I still love you to Inuyasha. The pain I felt after I left was the worst I've ever known. We have to tell Kagome about my vision though. She has the right to know, and if she's still being controlled, I have to wake her from it."
"I know. Now, I think I have to sing in a few minutes. So, lets go back."
He interlocked his hand with hers as they walked back to the stage. The two ice figures melted into the fountain water instantly.
