InuYasha Fan Fiction / Fan Fiction ❯ Naraku's Offspring ❯ Dear Father ( Prologue )
[ Y - Young Adult: Not suitable for readers under 16 ]
Dear Father,
I know I've been disobedient and wrong all these months, and I apologize. I know you are just looking out for me. I know you love me… but I can't do what you want me to.
I've lasted these six months of battling and arguing without any success, and I give up. I can't be mad at you for the rest of my life. You mean the world to me. Ever since mother died, I know you've tried your best to be there for me in her place.
Well, I'm seventeen, Father. Time for you to realize that just because he's rich and handsome doesn't mean he's going to make me happy. I can't stand his arrogance! You think I'm a child for thinking that I could never love him, but I never want to love someone after I've been forced to be with him. Then who's to know that I actually love him?
The only love I have in this world is you. That's why it hurts me to do this to you. But I'd rather be hurt and guilty, than hate you for eternity.
Goodbye, Father… I know I will see you again someday, after I have fallen in love with someone. When I come back, you will see how happy I am.
Love you always,
Adriana
He stared helplessly at the letter, as he stood over the bed from which he found it. He had come into her room, expecting to see her sweet face, framed by her rich dark brown hair… But nothing was on that bed of silk, except for this parchment.
It hurts me to do this to you…
I know you love me…
He buckled down onto his knees and clutched to the sheets of red, letting out cries for his only daughter. His maid came in, alarmed by the sounds. She was more alarmed by the sight of her master sobbing on an empty bed, clutching to the tear stained note.
“Damian! Where is Adriana?!?” She looked around frantically for some sign. She searched her dresser and saw only a few things missing. she searched in her chest and found the traveling pack gone. She was already crying when she looked into the music box where all her most prized possessions were stored and saw it empty. “Where has she gone! Tell me, Damian!”
He looked up, his red eyes swollen and looked at her angrily. “She has left because of me! She has runaway, because I am not a good father! She left because I tried to force her to marry that pompous ass, because I thought all the money in the world would make her happy! What do I get for doing such things, Delecia?!?” He stared at her with heart broken eyes. She crumpled up into a ball onto the floor and pounded her tiny fists. He looked at her saddened, and held her as they both sobbed for Adriana. She was the light of the house, a glorious flower that always bloomed every morning. The house already seemed cold without her.
He looked up and saw a drawling of herself she had done, lying peacefully on the dresser. He stood, and walked to the sketching. Her hair tumbled gracefully over her soft shoulders, dark and luscious with every wave. Her face was strong, but gentle, just like her mother's. In this drawling, her eyes were bright and happy, glittering like silver and diamonds.
He heard footsteps and turned to the doorway of her room. A large shadow stood in the doorway. In dark robes and an expressionless face, he traced the faces of the only life forms in the room. Then looked around at the otherwise empty room and frowned. “Where is she?”
Damian stood up and looked sternly at the figure with long black hair, but focused on his red eyes. “She has runaway, Naraku.” The figure's fists clenched.
“Why did you let her do that?” Naraku looked at the parchment he held in his left hand and snatched it from him. Damian steppe forward to take it back, then saw Naraku's steady gaze and looked away in anger. Naraku read the note quickly until he got to one part.
“My arrogance?” He put the letter down after reading the rest, and looked up at Damian harshly. “What a stupid little girl! She should never have done this. I can't just let her go. I can't let her do this to me!” Naraku turned away and started to leave, until Damian said something.
“It almost sounds like you love her?” Naraku stopped jerkily and turned around to see the grinning father. Naraku spat on Delecia and turned, leaving out the door. Damian, enraged, shouted out from the room. “Never enter my home again! Vile being!”
Naraku turned around and smiled. “I won't, not even when I find Adriana, because she's coming strait to our home, for she will marry me.” Damian stared dumbfounded as Naraku continued down the hallway, his robes flowing behind him powerfully.
Naraku was on the hunt for his bride, the beautiful Adriana. He did not want her for her beauty, he needed her for her blood. Every curve of her body was arousing to his cold flesh. He still felt the powers of lust, and couldn't forget when he first saw her… lying peacefully asleep in that red, silk bed. He was to have her tomorrow! Then she ran away… She'll pay. He hated waiting to be able to have her…
She will soon know exactly what she means to him, for he would search for her himself. Her blood held the traits of which he needed for the most powerful of demons. Their offspring would bring rule of all he desired. He needed her… her reddish-brown skin, her strong, flexible limbs, her silver, diamond eyes, every lock of her black shining hair, and her sweet blood. It all will be his.
