He passed the ball to his receiver down field seconds before he was tackled. Tidus caught the ball and dodged an opposing player then was tackled after gaining a few yards. She watched on as her friends played against their biggest school rivals. Inuyasha called the team into a huddle.
“Miro, this one's goin' to you.” Inuyasha said shaking his arm.
“I'll clear the way.” Tidus said looking over at Miroku.
“Alright.” Miroku said walking to the line of scrimmage. The team lined up on the line. Inuyasha lined up in shotgun formation with Miroku to the left of him.
“Red 57. Red 57. Hut hut.” Inuyasha said as the lineman hiked him the ball. Inuyasha caught the ball and handed it to Miroku. Miroku grabbed the ball and ran to his right, Tidus pulled out in front of Miroku. Tidus rammed his helmet into an opposing player, then another, then he tackled another leaving Miroku on his own with no one behind him. Miroku ran into the touchdown and slammed the ball into the floor. Inuyasha ran over to Miroku and pulled him to the floor. Tidus jumped on Inuyasha and Miroku. Their team had won championship. Inuyasha and Miroku stood and removed their helmets. Inuyasha had his hair tucked away under his helmet so it wouldn't be pulled during the game. His silver hair dropped to his mid-back, his bangs stuck to his face as sweat dripped to his nose and fell to the floor. Inuyasha turned as she ran towards him. He loved her and she loved him. Kagome threw her arms around Inuyasha's neck and kissed his lips lightly.
“Hey Kagome. I didn't think you'd make it.” Inuyasha said as he put his arms around her waist.
“Hey, Kags where's Yuna?” Tidus asked walking up to Inuyasha with Miroku.
“She couldn't make it. I'm sorry.” Kagome said giving him a sympathetic look. Tidus dropped his head slightly. “It's ok. She was probably busy anyway.” Tidus said as he walked off.
“He really likes her.” Kagome said as she stared at Tidus sulk away.
“Yeah, but he's afraid.”
“Of what?” Miroku asked overhearing the conversation.
“Rejection.” Inuyasha, Kagome, and Miroku kept talking about Tidus and Yuna. Tidus leaned against the wall thinking about the girl that made his words tremble. “I don't understand. Why can't I just tell her how I feel?” She turned the corner and saw him standing against the wall.
“Tidus, what are you doing over here by yourself?”
That voice it couldn't be her. Tidus slowly turned to the voice. “Yuna.”
“Hi, Tidus. Sorry I didn't get here early.” Yuna said dropping her head.
“It's ok. Hey, we won championship.” Tidus said trying to make her feel better.
“That's great.” Yuna said giving Tidus a hug.
“Let's get out of here.” Tidus said grabbing her hand pulling her towards the parking lot.
“Where are we going?” Yuna asked running alongside Tidus.
“It's a surprise.”
“Hey, Tidus goin' somewhere without us?” Inuyasha yelled from behind Tidus.
“I was just gonna take Yuna somewhere.” Tidus said stopping.
“Yuna!” Kagome screamed hugging her.
“Hey, Kags.”
“So, where were you taking her?” Inuyasha asked turning back to Tidus.
“If you must know I was taking her to the sea-side restaurant over by Heights beach.”
“Tidus, you were gonna take me there? Oh.” Yuna said throwing her arms around him again.
“Yeah, but Inuyasha had to ruin it.”
“Sorry.” Inuyasha muttered dropping his head.
“Hey, why don't ya come with us?” Yuna asked.
“Hey, yeah.” Tidus agreed hitting Inuyasha lightly.
“I guess. We have nothing better to do.”
“Yay!” Kagome said jumping up and down.
“Oh yeah. Here you go Tidus.” Inuyasha said handing him the ball.
“What's this for?”
“It's the game ball. I'm giving it to you.”
“Thanks.”
“Hey, bye guys. I have to go meet Sango.”
“Where you going?”
“That sea-side restaurant.”
“Might as well come with us. That's where we're goin'.”
“Oh alright.” Miroku said walking through the parking lot.
“Are we gonna walk?” Yuna asked taking Tidus's hand.
“Yeah.” Tidus replied running faster. Inuyasha started running after Tidus with Miroku following.
“Hey, wait up.” Kagome yelled running after the guys. Yuna ran alongside Kagome. Tidus slowed down as they neared the restaurant.
“Why'd you run off like that?” Inuyasha asked trying to catch his breath.
“I don't know.”
“Stupid.”
“Shut up and let's go.” Tidus said opening the restaurant doors. Miroku entered the building and saw Sango waiting at a table.
“Sango, my dear.” Miroku said taking her hands as he sat. “Miroku.” Sango said blushing slightly.
“Hey we need to talk about what we're gonna do over the break.” Inuyasha said sitting down.
“Well, we could just stay at home.” Miroku said eyeing Sango.
“Hey, my father's sending me to Hawaii you guys should come.” Tidus said remembering his father's words from yesterday.
“Alright yeah sounds good.”
“Well I know we're not sitting in a restaurant to talk. I'm hungry.” Inuyasha said grabbing a menu.
“Inuyasha, is that all you think about?” Miroku asked turning towards him.
“Um... yeah” Inuyasha said calling the waitress over. Tidus stood from the table and walked out onto the beach. Yuna stared at him as left, she decided to follow him. Tidus found some old pieces of wood, and rocks. He grabbed some grass, then clamped the rocks together to make a spark. Shortly the grass and wood caught fire creating a small fire. Tidus sat in front of the fire and stared into its glowing magnificence of orange light. Yuna slowly came up from behind Tidus and sat beside him.
“Hey, are you ok?” Yuna asked softly.
“Yeah, I'm just thinking that's all.” Tidus turned and gazed into her gray eyes. The way they sparkled against the light of the fire, her hair dropped to her shoulder and fell above her eyes. Tidus felt like kissing her when he heard his name being called.
“Tidus catch.” Inuyasha yelled as he threw the ball into the air. Tidus stood and ran back for the ball, he had to jump to catch it and fell on his back. Inuyasha ran over and jumped on him. Tidus pushed off and threw the ball to Miroku. Miroku caught the ball and ran into the water. The girls were sitting around the fire as the guys threw the ball back and forth.
“So, Kags how's it goin' between you and Yash?” Sango asked going into their usual conversations.
“Fine. I really like him I might even love him.” Kagome said blushing.
“Have you had sex?” Sango asked making Kagome blush even harder.
“Sango!”
“Well, have you?”
“No!”
“Ok.”
“How is it with you and Miroku?” Yuna asked turning to Sango.
“Fine. He stopped being a pervert and he told me he loved me. I told him the same thing.”
“Oh Sango.” Yuna and Kagome said jumping on her.
“Ok, ok you're choking me.” Sango gasped trying to breathe.
“Oh sorry.”
“So, Yuna. What's goin' on between you and Tidus?” Sango asked with a smirk.
“Nothing.” Yuna replied trying to hide her blush.
“Do you like him?” Kagome asked trying to get the truth out.
“Yes.”
“Then tell him.”
“What if he doesn't feel the same?”
“He does trust us.” Inuyasha and the others walked over to the girls. “What ya talkin' about?”
“Nothin'.”
“Ok.”
“Hey, Tidus sing that song you were singing before the game.” Miroku interrupted.
“Nah.”
“What's the matter scared?”
“No, I just don't feel like it.”
“What song?” Yuna asked looking back and forth between Inuyasha and Tidus.
“Nothing, it's nothing.”
“C'mon sing it.”
“Sing it please Tidus.” Yuna said touching his arm lightly.
“Fine.” Tidus said giving in. He cleared his throat as he sat down. Yuna scooted closer enough to him for their legs to touch. Tidus sang the song in a light voice almost gentle and romantic
I carry the burden of losing rest
Upon my shoulders
And its weight seems unbearable
Your tomb is where your heart is,
I should have told her
But within me hid a secret so terrible
To cry is to know that you're alive
But my river of tears has run dry
I never wanted to fool you, no
But a cold heart is a dead heart
And it feels like I've been buried alive by love
If I should die before I wake
Pray no one my soul to take
if I wake before I die,
rescue me with your smile
If I should die before I wake
pray no one my soul to take
if I wake before I die,
rescue me with your smile. Tidus whispered the final line hoping no one would hear, yet everyone did. Yuna and Kagome just stared at him. “Ok, you can stop staring at me now.” Tidus said growing uncomfortable.

“I'm sorry it was just so good.” Yuna apologized.
“Thanks.” Tidus said lying back against the sand. Inuyasha wrapped his arms around Kagome's waist as she against his shoulder and fell asleep. Sango leaned against Miroku and fell fast asleep, dreaming of their trip to Hawaii. Tidus struggled to keep his eyes open when Yuna put her head on his shoulder. Yuna fell fast asleep on Tidus's comfortable shoulder. Tidus turned his head and kissed Yuna's lips lightly. Yuna felt the kiss and opened her eyes.
“Tidus, why'd you do that?” Yuna asked touching her lips.
“Um… I… uh… I like you, ah who am I kidding I love you Yuna.” Tidus said in a low tone of sadness.
“Tidus, you really love me?” Yuna asked with a bit of shock present in her voice.
“Yes, I do.”
“I love you too.” Yuna said capturing Tidus's lips in a fierce kiss. Tidus was stunned for a bit then returned the kiss. Tidus broke the kiss after losing his breath.
“We should go to sleep for now.” Tidus said lying back once again.
“Yeah.” Yuna agreed lying beside with her arm around him. They fell asleep until the next morning when the sound of seagulls awoken them. Tidus was the first to awaken he looked around then at the sleeping Yuna in his arms. Yuna stirred awake and her eyes fluttered open.
“Morning.” Tidus said brushing her hair to the side of her face.
“Morning.” Yuna replied cuddling against him. Inuyasha stirred awake rolling off to his side. Kagome sat up and looked over at Tidus and Yuna.
“Hey, ya ready to go?” Kagome asked dusting off her skirt.
“Um… yeah let's go.” Tidus said kicking sand into Miroku's hair.
“Hey, what the hell?!” Miroku yelled getting up off the sand and shaking his head. Sango woke up due to Miroku's yelling. “Miro, shut up.” Inuyasha said hitting his leg.
“Hey, you try getting sand in your hair.”
“We all have sand in our hair, we slept on the beach dumbass.” Tidus smirked at Inuyasha's comment. It was true except the girls didn't have sand in their hair.
“Hey we should the plane leaves in two hours.” Tidus said helping Yuna off the sand. They left the beach, walked towards their homes which weren't far apart. Tidus packed clothes, shoes, and something a little special just in case. Inuyasha just packed clothes and his boxers. Miroku did the same. The girls however packed everything they could find. Shoes, panties, bras, brushes, toothbrushes, food, and other “essential” items.
“Hey hurry up.” Tidus yelled down the street as he got in his car. Inuyasha ran out of his carrying a small sports bag, same as Miroku. They jumped in the backseat and waited for the girls to show up. Kagome exited her house and threw her bag at Inuyasha then jumped on top of him. Sango sat on Miroku's lap, while Yuna sat in the passenger's seat. Tidus back up out of the drive-way, then sped off towards the airport. Tidus was looking forward to this trip, especially with his friends going with him. Nothing could ruin this trip, or so he thought.
