Chapter one: "Somthing New"

"Is Tohru here?" Kagome Higurashi asked an older, snobby looking woman at the door to her Pen-Pall's grandfather's house. Tohru Honda has been Kagomes Pen-Pall for the past 3 years. Kagome even took the time to write her letters in the Warring Era so they would be ready to mail the moment she got home.

Of course Kagome never mentioned demons or jewel shard in her letters. Today was going to be the first day she would see her friend. It was to be a suprise visit, Tohru wouldn't have a clue. Of course this woman didn't look to happy at Tohru's name.

"Ha! That little slut ran off to live with a group of men about a year and a half ago. Get lost." Kagome seethed. What a horried woman!

"May I have the address please." Kagome said through clenched teeth. It waent a question but an obvious demand. The woman snorted and glared at her before sighing in defeat.

"Wait here i'll write it down." she spat. Kagome nodded and let go of the door she had grabbed to keep it from slaming into her face. The woman walked away from the the door and rummaged around in a side table drawer that was in the hall way.

Kagome sighed, vagly remebering Tohru saying somthing about moving in with some nice boys, one of them was Tohrus crush, Kagome had been told. yu-ya-yuaki? Yorki? What had been the boys name? Tohru didn't say to many names.

The woman came back with a peice of paper and handed it to Kagome. She smiled at the horried woman.

"Thank you Ma'am." The she raced off, while reading the address on the paper. Turning corners and doging forgoten trash, Kagome made her way to a house. It was secluded, out of the way of normal city go-ers.

She sighed and knocked on the door. Thats when it hapened. A loud crash souned as somthing broke inside the household, folowed by shouts and threts. Fearing the worst Kagome was about to go inside when a oringe haired boy was thrown through the clasic stlyed paper door, the boy crashed into her throwing them both to the gound. The boy grunted on impact and Kagome clenched her teeth, quite used to being thrown to the ground in a vicous manner like so. The boy was lying flush atop her, he seemed to be out.

"Hey," Kagome shook him. She couldn't get up if he didn't get up.

"Hey- get up, C'mon I don't want to lie here all day and if you don't get up I can't!" Kagome tryed again.

Kagome's Miko powers tingled, somthing was off about this boy, he was like Kurama, one of her team mates, the boy habored the soul of a cat Youki. The arua of it felt way to close to Kirara's for comfort. Somthing else was added to it though, somthing sinister, with an unsadated blood lust.

"GET OFF ME YOU STUPID CAT!" Kagome screeched; fed up with being crushed to the ground. Five people rushed out side at her scream, Kagome's Miko power prodded at her painfully waring her thies people weren't fully human ether.

The boy ontop of Kagome groaned and opened his eyes. He blinked seeing Kagome blue-grey eyes seething back at him.

"Get. Off. Me. Now." She demaned. The cat jumped up, vary cat like, Kagome noted while geting up and dusting off her skirt. He looked at himself as if expecting somthing. He looked uterly dumbfounded when he obviouly didn't find what he was looking for.

Kagome turned to the five that had come out side a moment ago. 'A dragon, a rat, a snake, a rabbit, and a dog?' Kagome thought. Odd mix of demon avatars.

The cat looked at the mouse and stutered

"I- I didn't change- a- and she knows... she called me a cat..." The others froze and stared at her.

"What? I didn't do anything to him!" Grumbled kagome back. She sighed.

"Look I'm not going to question you about why your here but i'm afaid i will have to tell Koenma that you demons are resindng in human world, its my job after all, no hard feelings ok? Dose Tohru Honda live here?"

They stared at her before the rabbit spoke up.

"Tohru lives here, were not demons its a curse, are you a boy?" Kagome was taken aback slightly wondereing what would make him think her to be a boy. 'So it was a curse then? Most would probably see it that way.' Kagome mussed to herself.

"No i'm a girl. May I please speak to Tohru?"

"And what would a pretty high school girl like you want with our little flower?" The dog question her in an almost perverted way.

"Tohrus a friend of mine. Is she here?"

"She left to do some shopping and wont be back for a while." The rat said nervously. Kagoe let out a barly adible sigh.

"My name is Kagome Higurashi, I'm Tohrus Pen-Pall I came here to suprise her, but it seems shes already left then. May I wait for her to return?" Kagome introduced herself properly.

"I'm Shigre Sohma, this is Yuki Sohma -he waved politly- Momiji Shoma, -he bounced up and down grinning at her- my two good friends Hatori Sohma, -He inclined his head slightly, reminding Kagome of Sesshomaru instantly- and Ayame Sohma -he grined lechouly at her making Kagome nervous- The one behind you is Kyo Sohma." He introduced every one.

"And we'd be honered if you would stay and wait for Tohru to return." He added.

"WHAT?! You letting her stay?!" Kyo screamed behind her. Kagome rubbed her ears, 'God he's loud.' She thought wistfully.

"It will be fine Kyon Kyon." Shigure said.

"Please come inside..." Ayame said huskilly. Yuki smacked him upside the head.

"Shut up. Your scaring her." The rat sniped at his older sibling, Kagome found from their Aruas. Kagome smiled her thanks at Yuki and he walking inside, The others right on his tail.

Kagome sat a moment after they told her of the Sohma curse, Momiji had been so couious about her he had hugged her about six times now, when nothing hapened he ploped himself down in her lap making Kagome giggle.

"You remind me of my friend Shippo." Kagome told the little boy in her lap.

"Realy? Is he a cross dressing baby too?" Kyo asked. Kagome set out a tendrill of power and zaped his curse lightly. he jumped up yowling and scraching at his arms.

"Don't insult my friends right infront of me, cat." Kagome calmly stated.

"What did you do?! That hurt!" A loud beeping noise broke through Kyo's hollering.

"shut up." Kagome stated pulling out her compact while it beeped anoyingly.

"could of sworn i turned the damn thing off." Kagome mumble. She fliped it open and held it at an angle so Momiji could see but couldent be seen. She didn't want his croiosity to get away with him and jump infront of the screen to let his perince know to Koenma.

"Hello Koenma. To what do I own the wounderfull honner of you calling me in the middle of MY time?" He voice honney coated steel, just like Sesshomaru had taught her.

" See! I told you not to call her! We can handle a few demons Koemna!" Yusukes voice drifted throug the com.

"Shut up dimwit." Kagome told the throughly greesed up boy.\

"Kagome I need you to look in on a group of people for me. They have been posed by the animals of the Chinese Zodiac. I need you to Get rid of the curse and escort the demons to spirit world for me." Koenma said suprising the hell out of every one who heard, or in Momiji's case heard and saw.

"The sohma's right?" Kagome asked.

"Yes that the family name, How did you...?"

"We've allready met. Do me a favor and seen Kurama here i might need his help."

"Kurama? Why?"

"Just do it toddler."

"I'M NOT A TODDLER!"

"Yes you are." Yusuke said from somwhere out of sight.

"Botan! take Kurama to Sigure Sohma's house!" Koenma hollered.

A loud 'POP' was heard in the living room followed by Kurma steping out of a portal.

"Good evening miss Kagome. What do you need my help for?" Kagome clicked her compact shut and tucked it away. Everyone stared at kurama. he ignared them.

"If i'm going to get rid of the curse it will take all of my consitration. I don't need any rabid demons attacing me while I work this mess out." Kagome answered.

"Ah. I figured as much." Kurama nodded.

Next: The Sohmas have a family meting with Kagome and Kurama along for the ride, Whats Akito up to when he look at kagome like that? And can Kagome realy cure them? Big suprises when Kuronue is discoved to be the spirit inside one of the Sohmas. How will the they react when they come face to face with their demon counter parts? Could Naraku realy be behind all this? Next in Jinmenjuushin; "Cured?"
