This is what I promised a songfic without Naruto to prove that I am versitle. I'm going to get to the point of this one rather fast and it will be one close to my heart because I can't stand guys like this. So I felt this song diserved to have a songfic. Also I'm going to have a fight scene in this one as well. Because well I love fight scenes, read Resident Naruto if you don't believe me. That is the most intense story I've ever written. Takato sat back on his couch flicking through channels. Thinking the cliqued line "300 channel and nothing on." Ever since he moved out of his parents' house he couldn't find anything to do. Guilmon walked through the kitchen and sighed.
Guilmon: Takatomon there's nothing to eat. I want some bread.
Takato: Sorry Guilmon. I'll get us something later, okay.
Guilmon: But, I'm hungry now.
????: I said shut up!!
Guilmon and Takato simultaenously looked to the side wall. His friend Rika was the one who told him about this apartment and it was next to hers as well. Lately though it seemed like she welcomed him to live next the set of a soap opera. She lived with his, as far as he was concerned, ex- friend Ryo, her boyfriend. He learned through living next to them that he was a possessive jackass. Guilmon went into attack mode and Takato held him back. He had held deep feelings for Rika and thought very highly of her as a very tough person. He once again found himself listening to their arguement.
Rika: Ryo I-
Ryo: Didn't I tell you to shut up. Say one more thing and I'll shut you up Bitch!
Takato: I think I'll go get you something to eat now.
Guilmon: Shouldn't we do something?
Takato didn't answer, he just opened the door and walked out. As if it was fate Rika fell into the hallway.
Ryo: And stay out there until I say you can come back in.
Ryo looked to the side and saw Takato staring at him.
Ryo: Why the fuck are you lookin' at me like that? You got a problem?
Takato: Yeah.
Ryo: Oh.
He said shut the door back. Takato walked to Rika and wiped the tear from her eye.
Takato: You okay?
Rika: Mind your own business Gogglehead.
Takato: Rika.
Rika: I'm sorry, it's not your fault it's just......could you leave me alone for a while.
Takato: Rika you don't-
Rika: Please j-just leave me alone.
She said as she got up and walked down the hallway to the elevator. She walked on and gave one last look to Takato before the door closed. Takato leaned back against the hallway wall and looked to the ceiling.
Takato: I can't help but, wait. Oh, I, can't help but, wait. Check it out.
Takato looked in the direction of the elevator and walked torwards the one next to it while fixing his goggles.
Takato: I see you through wit' him. He ain't right but, you don't trip.
He said boarding the elevator and riding it down as he leaned against the back.
Takato: You stand by while he lie and turn right 'round and forgive.
When he reached the bottom he saw her sitting on the bench outside of the apartment and he walked through the lobby behind her.
Takato: I can't take to see your face-
He looked at her she sat there and saw her crying.
Takato: As those tears roll down yo' cheeks.
He reached out for her but, pulled his hands back at the last minute.
Takato: But, what can I do, I gotta stay true. Cause deep down I'm still a G'.
He said hitting the top of his fist to his chest as he walked away. He looked back one last time.
Takato: Though I don't wanna come between you and yo' maaan. Even though I know I treat you better than he can. Girl I can't help but, wait. Til' you give up wit' him it don't change. Can't help but, wait til, you see that wit' me it ain't the same. Can't help but, wait til you, see you for what you really are. An' baby girl you are a star.
Takato looked back and watched as Ryo walked up to Rika ad started to talking to her.

Takato walked down the street and smiled when he saw Rika. She looked over to him and waved until Ryo grabbed her hand and pulled to her away before glaring at Takato. Takato dropped is hand and stared.
Takato: It ain't fresh to just let him call the shots.
Takato looked into the store they went into.
Takato: You're a queen you should be gettin' all that someone's got.
Takato sat down in the driver's seat of his car and leaned back before putting the key in.
Takato: You should be rockin' the latest in purses, bracelets,an' watches. You're worth much more an accassional "I love you" or "I'm thinkin' of you".
Takato took off for home and looked back one last time as they exited the store.
Takato: An' I don't wanna come between you and yo' maaan, no. Even though I know I treat you better than he can.

Takato collapsed on his bed.
Takato: Girl I can't help but, wait til you give up wit' him it don't change.
He lifted his head to the sound of the door closing in the next apartment.
Takato: Can't help but, wait til you see that wit' me it ain't the same. Can't help but, wait til' you, see you for you really are. An' baby girl you are a star. An' I can't help but, wait.
He stood up and left the apartment as Guilmon watched him out. He closed the door and went to the elavator. He walked into it and down.
Takato: Get it together, you can do better. Seein's believin'. An' I see what you need so.
When he reached the lobby he saw Henrey waiting on him. Takato looked back up as they walked to the store.
Takato: I'ma play my position, let you catch what you been missin'.
Takato and Henrey finished their errands and walked out of the elevator.
Takato: I'm callin' ouuuut.
They both came to a halt at a thunderous sound. Takato looked out of the elevator and saw Rika on the ground covering her face as Ryo stood over her as if he had just delivered God's judgment down upon her.
Ryo: You think I like hittin' you.
Rika dared not look at him but, something did catch her attention. She heard the sound of a bag dropping to the ground. When Ryo turned towards it all he saw was a fist flying into his jaw. Takato punched him so hard that he fell off balance just from thhrowing it. Ryo took advantage of Takato's punch and grabbed him. Takato reached back and elbowed Ryo twice in the face, freeing himself from his grip. Ryo stumbled back and tried to block a punch that came at his head but, no luck. He caught Takato's next punch and got his entire hand over Takato's face before slamming him to the ground head first.
Ryo: I told you to mind yours bitch.
Rika: Stop it!!
Ryo grabbed tightly onto Takato's neck and began to squeeze. Ryo pulled back his fist and punched Takato in the face as he gasped for air. Henrey was stuck on whether or not to intervene. It was a fight Takato had told him would happen for a long time. The warrior in him told him to let the him fight alone. While the friend in him told him to kick Ryo in the face and fight side by side with Takato. For some reason the Warrior didn't have a problem with the second idea either. People began to spill from thier rooms, but merely as spectators.
Rika: Henrey.
Henrey nodded, Takato would handle himself. Takato caught Ryo's punch and knee him in the stomache before punching him in his side. The second that Ryo got off of him Takato kicked him in the face causing him to stumble back to the wall. Takato charged at him but, Ryo moved to the side and grabbed the back of Takato's head. He tried to slam his face into the wall but, Takato stopped himself. Ryo kicked him in the back and made him kiss the wall. He pulled back his fist and rammed it into Takato's side. Takato elbowed him in the face and punched him down to the ground. Most of the people in the hallway were rooting for Takato. They were glad someone was finally kicking this guy's ass.
Old man Gerald: That's right kick his ass!
As if he could feel the momentum Takato grabbed Ryo's shirt and launched his fist into his stomache, followed by a quick punch to the face. Ryo tried to push Takato off of himself but, when he tried Takato pushed him on the wall and tackled him vicously, knocking the widn out of him. Takato lifted him by his collar and pulled his fist back.
Rika: Takato.
Takato turned back to her slightly and looked back.
Rika: Please.
Takato stopped and let her words sink in. He frowned and let go of Ryo's collar as ouut of nowhere policemen cleared out the halls. They ran up to Takato and Ryo before tackling them both to the ground. Rika looked down at Takato and smiled before mouthing the words "Thank you." Before he was taken out he mouthed the words " Any time." back to her.
Takato: Girl, I can't help but, wait til' you give up wit' him it don't change.
The policemen lifted him up and dragged both men from the building. As Takato was sat down in the car next to Ryo he looked out of the window and saw Rika smiling at him.
Takato: Can't help but, wait til' you see that wit' me it ain't the same.
He said as he looked down.
Takato: Can't help but, wait til' you, see you, for what you really are. An' baby girl you are a star. An' I can't help but, wait.

Takato leaned back in his cell and looked to the cell across from him. Ryo kept pouncing his fist into his palm.
Takato: Yeah whatever, you just keep on signin' wolf tickets.
Ryo: What was that?
Takato: I said anytime you're ready to have to get saved again, I'm willing to make you a damsel in distress.
Ryo: You got lucky.
Takato: Yeah I got lucky all seven times huh?
Takato looked over to the sound of a door opening. He saw a guard walk in with Rika beside him. Takato sat back as they both turned to Ryo's cell.
Ryo: It's about time.
The gaurd started to fiddle with the lock on the cell.
Guard: You Ryo right?
Ryo: Yeah.
Guard: Well I came to tell you...............don't drop the soap.
The gaurd smiled at Ryo and stopped trying to unlock the door.
Ryo: What!?
The guard turned to Takato and opened his cell.
Guard: You've got bail.
Takato: What?
He said smiling at Rika.
Rika: Com'n let's go Gogglehead.
Ryo: Bitch, get me out of here.
His cry went unanswered save for the sound of a slamming door. Takato walked down the stairs of the police station with his eyes caught on the beauty in front of him.
Rika: Takato, why did you help me?
Takato: Because we're friends, right?
Rika: Just friends, huh?
She said with a huff. Takato blushed at her comment and stumbled over his words. Rika laughed and called him over to the car. He took a deep breath and walked to the passenger's side. When he sat down Rika laid her head on his shoulder and kissed him on the lips.
Rika: Thank you.
Takato smiled and nodded as she took off. He looked out of the window and thought. Patience is a virtue and in the end everything worked out. But, still he wish he had acted sooner. He knew that now that he had this beautiful girl next to him, he had found his queen.

Woo, this one has been sittin' on me for a while. I'm glad I got it done. This will make three at once. I like this one because as a man I can't stand to see a man hit a woman. I merely made Takato do hat I would have done. The fight scene wasn't as vicous as I wanted but, I still think it's good. Not as good as Resident Naruto though or Strength's wake.
