“Shit!! I'm gonna be late again!! How the fuck do I always manage this???” Gaara thought. His iPod was blasting through his ears at top notch but even then he could still here the loud school bell as he entered the school. He turned into the office to receive a late slip when he saw her! She was dressed in the schools uniform, plaid red skirt and white button down top. The school code said that the jacket was to be worn when entering the building but he knew new students got their jackets as they arrived. But what really surprised him was her eyes. His were an unusual color, but hers were a rainbow! The edges were a light blue darkening into teal but quickly fading into a dark but shining sapphire. Then he saw what really surprised him on her right temple was the kanji symbol for hope! It was in a faint silver but was shining brightly in the over lit room.

“Late again Gaara!! I have a wonderful idea though! If you would want to be out of the detention hall today at lunch, that is.” The secretary Hakari quickly said.

“Hn” was his simple response.

“Well,” she started “Kagome has the exact same schedule and I will write you out a pass that says you were here this morning helping me out with the new girl.”

His nod was enough confirmation for her.

“Well then Kagome this is Sabaku no Gaara. Gaara this is Higurashi Kagome. You can leave now.”

As they left the office Gaara realized that kagome was plugged into her iPod already. As they turned the corner he saw her stop at the special notices board and look at with horror the picture before her.
