<Kagome's POV>
We, meaning Naruto, Koga and I, are going to my home to let my mother know that I am now mated. Mated to two demons. Hopefully mother will accept them. She was worried I would stay in love with Inuyasha. But he was half demon, not a full one like Koga. Naruto could probably count as half with Kyuubi sealed inside him. Koga and I are still dealing with his insecurities. Often I just collapse in horror. I'm glad that most of his torturers are now gone or they be killed, by me. The things that been done to him.
“Okay, loves,” I say as we approach the shrine. “Here we are. All we have to do is climb these stairs.”
“Awww, man,” moans Naruto as Koga rolls his eyes.
“Come on,” I say with a smile and the two follow me up the stairs.
“100, 101, 102, and 103,” counts Naruto. “There are 103 steps.”
“Thank you, Naruto,” says Koga sarcastically. “Now that mystery will be forever solved.”
“Koga,” I giggle. “I think my mother will love you both.”
“I don't know,” says Koga and Naruto nods his head.
“Yeah,” he says. “I mean you are a Miko. It's odd for one to have demon mates.”
“What about Anna, Naruto?” questions Koga.
“She's Anna,” he answers.
“Exactly,” I tell him. “She's herself. She's not just a Miko…She's herself. I will not follow how society wants me to be, but how I want to be.”
*Ding-Dong*
“Coming,” says a voice inside.
“Koga!” I shout.
“What?” he asks. “Thought it be good if we do this now.”
~Groan~ “Let me talk to her first,” I tell them as my mother opens the door and smiles at us.
“Kagome!” she shouts and hugs me. “Dad! Souta! Kagome is home!”
“Yay!” cheers my brother as he launches himself at me and gives me a hug. “Big Sis!”
“Kagome!” shouts Grandpa. “'bout time you came to visit.”
“Hi, everyone,” I say smiling. “I want you guys to meet…”
“Hey,” interrupts Souta, “Who are these guys? Where's Inuyasha?”
“That traitor is dead,” hisses Koga.
“Koga,” I growl. “Heh. Heh. Well, he's dead. Long story. This is Koga and this is Naruto. (Both bow to my family) They are my…well, mates.”
~Cricket chirps in background~ “WHAT?!?” “COOL!” “HEH?!?”
“Well, they are taking it well,” says Koga. *Eyes rolls*
“Mother?” I question. “What's wrong? I thought you be glad that I have two loving mates.”
“Two mates?” asks Souta. “Cool. I'm happy for you, Kagome. Man, all my friends are going to be so jealous.”
*Giggle* “Thanks, little bro,” I say. “Gramps?”
“Demon Be Gone!” he says and slaps sutras on Koga and Naruto.
“Grandpa,” I say rolling my eyes as my mates peal the sutras off. “They are good demons.”
“Oh,” says Grandpa. “Why didn't you say so? Daughter, close your mouth. It's rude.”
“What was wrong with Inuyasha? He was such a nice boy,” she pouts.
“Nice boy my ass,” I mumble.
“Kagome, language,” mother says with a frown.
*Chuckles* “I agree with her,” says Souta and Gramps nods. “He was never good enough for my precious granddaughter.”
“Dad!” shouts mother. “At least he was part human. None of these two are. One's a demon and the other is a vessel to a demon.”
It was like a knife was shoved into my heart. My mother was not only insulting my mates and calling them callous, she was calling me a whore, indirectly.
*Growl* “Fine,” says Koga. “You're daughter is a loving woman and if you cannot recognize that then you are a fool. We may be demons, but we know the meaning of loyalty and faithfulness. We will take care of her and if you wish to visit us, we're just a phone call away. Come on Kagome. Naruto. We don't have to take this abuse.”
He grabs my wrist and Naruto's, turns around and walks down the stairs.
“Bye sis!” shouts Souta. “We call you soon. (Glare from mom). I'll call you soon and maybe I can come and visit.”
~At home~
“Kagome,” whispers Naruto with tears in his eyes. “Why wasn't you mom happy for you?”
“She had her heart set on me marrying Inuyasha,” I sigh. “I told her that we split up a long time ago.”
“Well, that certainly went well,” says Koga as I narrow my eyes at him and stick out my tongue at him.
“How did it go?” asks Anna and Rin as they enter my home.
“Awful,” says Naruto. “Her mom doesn't like us.”
“Huh?” says Anna. “She was fine with Naraku and Gaara…not! She tried to purify them.”
“What?!?” I shout. “Why didn't you tell me?”
“Oh,” she says. “They are very powerful and I knew she wouldn't have been able to do it. She called me a whore. That got her a free trip to the land of nod. Your grandfather apologized for her. Your brother, though…”
“What?” I ask.
“He's…he's so cute and informative,” she answers with a grin.
“Oh, man,” I groan. “He showed you the pictures.”
“Yep,” she chirps. “I know just what will cheer you up.”
“What?” asks Sango as she walks in.
“Ice cream and a movie,” Anna answers. “Who's up for a comedy?”
“I don't care as long as you share your ice cream,” I say. The three of us grab ice cream from the freezer, curl up on the couch with Koga and Naruto, and watch the movie.
