Sango yelped as her foot got stuck in a root, she fell forward, face first. But she managed to turn so she could take the brunt of the fall on her shoulder. When she turned to look at the thing that had caught her foot she saw the dark figure known as D appeared in front of her. His eyes glowed like liquid rubies. "Shit, I am in for it now." she cursed and took hold of her boomerang and was prepared to use it as a shield. She could here the muffled sounds coming from his left hand; obviously D had grown tired of the ranting face inside his hand.

- You can not run from me… taijya, he whispered harshly.

- Perhaps not, but I sure can defend myself against perverts like you, snarled Sango and flicked her boomerang so it hit D right in the balls.

His eyes crossed and he fell to his knees. Sango was soon up on her feet again and she regained the rush through the forest. Good for her that all males got a "soft" spot. But she knew that she probably could not keep up this pace much longer, she could feel her muscles scream out in agony and pain. "I need a shelter, a hide out. But with my luck I guess he has a sensitive nose just like Inuyasha." she growled and felt a branch hit her right over her face, drawing blood this time. "Fuck, he is definitively going to smell that…" she cursed and smeared the blood that trickled down over her lips.

Sango had been right about him having a sensitive nose, but it was rage alone that drove him towards her now. D could still feel jolts of burning pain where she had hit him with that fucking boomerang. But the rage turned over as soon as her blood scent hit his nostrils. She had been hurt. He needed to find her to make sure she was alright, that she was not badly hurt. "Sango, where are you?" He pushed his body to the limit to catch up with her speed.

Sango found an old oak that still had a bushy crown of leafs. She used the last of her strength to climb up and found a perfect branch to settle down for the night. She took a deep breathe and waited for D to show up and hopefully continue to run past the tree. She concentrated on her skills and she willed her body to take small almost none existing breaths, trying to be as silent as possible. She saw the black figure through the thick layers of leafs and it hit her that her night vision must have improved as well from his violation of her dying state. "He saved your life." said her heart. "I know that… but what will I do in this barren world of … vampires.. blood suckers?" her mind snarled back. "Perhaps you should help him vanquish some more of these vampires and try to find a way back home? If you were brought here by Kagome's purifying arrow, perhaps your new power can help you get back home?" The idea was not impossible. Perhaps she could find a way to go back home. But she needed him for that and he was in a blood rage right now. "Man, I am so good at messing things up." she groaned silently. She closed her eyes for a short second, never noticing the drops of blood escaping her wound and fell through the air down towards the black figure below.

D felt something cold and sticky land on his hand and he smelled it, he smiled. It was her blood; he looked up and saw her curled into a small bundle on one of the top branches. "There you are, did you really think you could hide up there?" His eyes widened when he saw her form launch itself from the high branch.

A moment later he was crushed to the ground, he felt her weight on top of his stomach and he could feel the coldness of a small blade against his throat.

- Alright D, this is the deal I got for you, listen well because I am only telling you this once, said Sango and saw him nod. - I don't like this place one bit, but I think that my new power to purify may help me get back home, but I need you to find out how to make it possible. I will travel with you; I will help you to vanquish more vampires along the way. You will help me to live like a vampire, dunpeal or what the hell I should call myself now. Is it a deal?

- Deal.

- Good, now loosen up your fist, you are suffocating your facey friend.

She got up but she was still on battle mode, she was not sure if he had come out of his blood daze yet. But she saw him brush off his body as he rose to his feet and she heard a spitting sound from the face inside his hand. A small smile appeared on her lips. She could not help it, but she found the face to be a source of joy in this dark age of the future.
