Chapter 3: Home

Alecto Stepped out of a shadow near a large wall and leaned against it before proceeding through the gate which closed behind her. In front of Alecto was a large forest and what appeared to be a small version of an Irish castle. She made her way to the house and let herself in, as she made her way to the living room she was nearly rammed into be a large African lion, she braced herself against the wall to keep from being knocked off her feet.
“Kane it's good to see you too.” She said as the large feline sniffed hand and licked her wrist. She slid down the wall so that she was sitting on the floor in front of Kane; the lion sat down and tilted his head - watching her through stormy grey eyes. His glistening white fur and dark red mane standing out, as well as the tuft of dark red on the end of his tail. A streak of bright gold color fur ran along his spine, but the strangest thing about this creature, well besides his massive size, was the fact that he had a pair of silvery-blue wings folded against his back.
“I know I've been gone for a while haven't I?” Alecto asked as she leaned against the wall and closed her eyes.
Kane's tail twitched slightly [Yes you have.] he answered in a deep, rumbling voice as he lay down with his head across her legs.
“Well I'm here now, we can continue on our path. Soon we can start to look for Kagome again.”
Kane was purring [Good to know, now get some rest Lec, you look like you could use it. I'll keep watch.]
“Alright.” Alecto mumbled, already half asleep.

War entered the house quietly and removed his shoes just inside the door before proceeding into the house. It was silent inside but he knows that Alecto was here. As he entered the living room he spotted Kane lying with his head across her legs and Alecto who was asleep sitting against a wall. Kane opened his eyes and sat up as War came farther into the room; he yawned and revealed sharp white fangs. He stared at War as he approached them.
[Why am I not surprised to see you here so soon?]
War shrugged and whispered “I don't know, maybe because I care.”
Kane let a chuffing sound escape him as he laughed at War's answer. Suddenly Alecto's eyes flew open and she jumped to her feet, eyes searching her surroundings but not really seeing. War approached her slowly, afraid of startling her anymore then she already had been.
“Alecto, what's wrong?” he asked quietly.
She blinked and looked up at War before shaking her head slightly and relaxing slightly.
“Just bad memories, that's all.” She answered, and then smiled at him as she dropped her illusion. She was about an inch taller making her about 5'5”, her hair remained wine colored with the exception of a silvery white streak of hair that started at her left temple and her eyes remained tawny but a sea green ring now circled her iris and her pupils are now white. She had a tattoo that ran from her right wrist and up her right shoulder; it was red and black flowers and small white stars on a green vine. A set of wings covered in black fur and feathers adorned her back and a black cat tail wrapped around her waist. A set of cat ears twitched on top her head, as midnight colored as her tail and wings. Sharp claws appeared on her hands and shorter ones on her toes. One pointed fang peaked over her bottom lip as she smiled and stretched. When she yawned another fang could be see to match the other and two shorter ones could be seen adorning her bottom teeth.
“That feels better.”
“I agree.” War answered, now wearing a small smile.
Alecto raised an eyebrow at him.
“What?! You look better like this, besides it's your true form and how I have always seen you before.”
Alecto rolled her eyes, then realized that she still really need to take a bath and put on some clean clothes.
“Make yourselves comfortable and I'll be back in a few minutes, I want to get cleaned up.” She headed off to shower while War sat down on the couch and Kane stretched out on a thick blanket that lay on the floor to wait for her to come back. In fifteen minutes Alecto returned wearing a crimson leather halter top and black pants that hugged her body but allowed movement, over the pants was a sheer crimson skirt that was slit up the front. Also, just barely visible was a small red belly ring that glinted in the light. She curled up on the couch by War as she stifled a small yawn.
“Go back to sleep, you need to fully heal and gather your power before you do anything else.”
Alecto grumbled about being told what to do but leaned against him more and shortly she was asleep. War chuckled softly and shifted so that they were both lying down on the large couch, with Alecto on the inside. “Don't worry, I'll watch over you.” He whispered. Alecto snuggled closer to him as she fell into a deeper sleep.
