Chiro stood in front of the school, waiting for his twin, Chira, to come out.

 

As he waited, the girls who stood by him whispered about how hot he was. Being a light demon enabled him to hear all that was said.

 

Somehow, he spotted Chira through the girls. She was walking with two boys and when she saw him, she waved him over.

 

“Hey Chiro! These are my friend, Kohaku and Shippo. I invited them over." She smiled at him and he looked the boys over.

 

One, the Shippo kid, was a fox demon and he thought that might be okay but he didn't know about the other. He was human.

 

“I don't know if you should. Ask Demy first. She might not like it.” He looked at Kohaku out of the corner of his eye, but his sister noticed and she looked at him.

 

“He knows, so it should be okay.” She told her twin.

 

Suddenly, Demerin walked up to them. “Hey guys. Who might you be?”

 

Chiro spoke up. “This is Shippo and Kohaku. They`re coming over.”

 

“How older are you?” Kohaku blushed. He wasn't normally that blunt. “Sorry. That was rude. Its just your hair... Its gray.”

 

“Its alright. I'm a senior-”

 

Shippo cut her off. “YOUR THAT OLD?”

 

“No, as I was going to say, a senior in high school.”

 

Chira giggled. “She doesn't get that often. Normally, most of the hot guys hit on her.”

 

“Chira...” Demerin started but stopped and said “Lets go.”

 

They all walked to her black hummer and they all got in and drove to her house.

 

“Call someone there and ask if they can pick you up at six o'clock.” Demerin told the boys sitting in the back. Chiro was in the front with her.

 

The boys nodded and they soon reached the house.

Sesshom aru saw he girl from school leave the middle school with 4 of the kids. Two were from Inuyasha's group.

 

After a few minutes, Rin and her friend Kanna came out. Rin was talking about the new kids. Apparently they were twins who had just moved here from the Philippines with their older sister.

 

As soon as Rin and Kanna were in his BMW, he pulled out of the school parking lot and followed the girl to her house.

 

When he got there, he exited the car and Rin and Kanna followed him. they walked to the door and before he could ring the bell, it opened.

 

“Yes?” the young girl asked.

 

A small squeak came from behind her. “Rin? What are you doing here?” Shippo called.

 

Sesshomaru spoke, “Is Demerin here.”

 

Demerin walked up behind her younger sister. “Sesshomaru. You wanted to speak to me.”

 

She had changed from the school uniform and was now wearing a black tube top, white 'arm warmers' (as my friend calls them), black capris with a slit up the outside on each leg and laces holding them together, and strappy high heels.

 

Chira walked back to the couch where the boys were watching T.V. and Chiro walked up to the door. “Who's he?” he stopped when he saw Kanna. She was gorgeous, but so unemotional. So like him.

 

“Who are you staring at?” Demerin asked as she watched her young brothers face change.

 

Instead of answering, he just walked away, throwing four words over his shoulder at the man in the doorway. “Touch her and die.”

 

He raised an eyebrow at the boys words. “Is he always so protective?”

 

“Yes. Its a bird thing.” she answered bluntly. “Would you like to come in?”

 

“That is fine.” She stepped back and walked deeper into the house.

 

They left the girls with the others and Sesshomaru followed her to the kitchen. He was surprised by what he saw. Chiro was sitting at the table surrounded by weapons.

 

“Chiro and I were sharpening my... office supplies.” There was three katanas, a long thin dagger, a handful of throwing stars, a scythe, a sheathed sword with a demonic aura, and a bow and arrows.

 

“Office supplies?” he asked, showing no emotion.

 

“Yes.” She paused and drew on of the katanas. It had a bird with its wings spread engraved into the blade. She slashed it through the air. She nodded. “Good. Now what was it that you wanted to talk to me about?”

 

“You are a forbidden child but not fire and ice. What are you?” he asked.

 

“Right to the point. My mother was a shadow wolf and my father, a light demon.” Chiro winced at the cold tone in his sister's voice. she didn't normally tell people this information. Clearly this demon warranted something for her to tell him her origins.

 

“Yet you look human.”

 

`As do you. Tell me, Sesshomaru, how is your father?' she spoke in his head.

 

He looked at her closely and spoke out loud. “What do you mean?”

 

“Takaria Divina, my father, and Shinari Toyako, my mother, were close friends. Its rumored that they still visit the graves.” she pulled to chairs out and sat in one, beckoning him to sit as well.

 

“The lord of the Southern Philippines and the lady of the Southern lands were your parents?” he spoke softly, trying to figure this girl out.

 

“Last time I talked to them was when I was six. How are they?” She asked again, ignoring his question.

 

“Fathers fine,” He paused, “he has a new wife.”

 

With that they stood ad walked to the front door, where he called to Rin and Kanna.

 

“I can take them home. I have to tell your father I'm here anyways.” Demerin told him.

 

He nodded then walked to his car. `I thought he might have remembered me faintly. guess not.'

Demerin pulled up to the large mansion in the dark. She had dropped Kohaku and Shippo off earlier and had met a nice girl. Sango went to her school, but she was a sophomore.

 

Rin and Chira had gotten off to a great start and were now good friends. Kanna and Chiro had barely said a word throughout the whole trip.

 

Rin hopped out of the car, followed more gracefully by Kanna and Chira. The girls all pretty much ran to the door, while Demerin and Chiro followed at a slower pace.

 

“Rin!” a cheery voice called as they reached the door. It was a man who looked to be in his mid-forties. “Good to see you.”

 

Rin jumped on the man and said, “Your home daddy!”

 

When the two stopped hugging, he looked at the other people there and sniffed. “Demerin, is that you?”

 

She nodded and walked up to him. “InuTaisho, it's good to see you.”

 

“You still blend into the shadows, just as you did when you were young... Anyways, please com in and se my sons and wife. I remarried, you know.” He turned his head to tell the girl walking behind him, but was startled to find her gone.

 

“I'm over here, InuTaisho.” He whipped his head around and saw that she had moved to his other side.

 

He smiled and took her shoulders so that he could see her. “Take down your concealing spell, child. The house is safe.”

 

Suddenly a loud bang was heard from upstairs and the long dagger that was last seen in the kitchen was draw from the arm warmers.

 

A silver blob tumbled down the stairs, landing in a heap, muttering about `stupid bitches with too much attitude'. At the top of the stairs stood the miko from school. Kagome's hands were on her hips and she looked angry.

 

“Go get 'em Kago, me girl!” The man beside her shouted.

 

“Isn't that Inuyasha?” Demerin asked as she slipped the unnoticed knife back in its home.

 

“Yep!” he replied happily as he dodged a flying shoe, which she caught.

 

Rin, Chira and Kanna had gone to Rin's room but Chiro still stood with his older sister.

 

When they reached the large dinning hall, InuTaisho turned to the siblings. “Sit and I will get the others to come join us. Will you stay for Dinner?”

 

“Fine.” was his reply and he left, leaving them sitting in there.

 

“Is it wise to stay? I mean that you have people looking for you and they might come here.” Chiro watched as Demerin frowned.

 

“Don't wor-” She was cut off when the demon lord walked in followed by his wife; a human who held extreme beauty, Kagome, Inuyasha; who looked to be in pain, Sesshomaru; who clearly didn't want to be here, Rin, Kanna, and Chira.

 

“Demerin, this is my wife, Yaru, Inuyasha's mother.”

 

Demerin stood and bowed slightly.

 

Yaru bowed in return and they all sat and ate.

 

After they had eaten and most of the kids had left, leaving InuTaisho, Yaru, Sesshomaru, Demerin and Chiro, they began talking.

 

“Demerin, I would like you to stay here, with us.” She started to interrupt, but he raised his hand to silence her. “Yaru and I will be leaving to go visit the United states and I want you three to stay. We know you've been cast from your lands and that's why you hide your face.”

 

“There is more than that. I'm an...”
