A/N: I wonder if anyone even reads these.....Anyways, sorry about the wait. Almost a month, i told ya the updates would take forever...but i would be much more believing if i was actually working on my other story like i said i would. *sweatdrop* Anywozles, someone asked if there was going to be a lemon...well, duh. Of course! When? Not telling. How? Still not telling. Doesn't the suspense just kill you? It will be posted on Mediaminer, though. But when that time comes, i will give a link. ^_^
I was thinking on this story a few nights ago, ya know, plot and whats going to happen next, and i never really intended this story to be long--as i said in the last chapter. It very closely borders a PWP, there's a plot, but not a huge oh-me-gawd one. Answers will be answered, some of them anyways, in this chapter. Except the whole 'solid' thing. Would you believe me if i said i just put that in so they could kiss sooner? And...some other things will arise. Like Kagome meeting someone you most likely thought she wouldn't meet. Weeee.._^_
A/N part two: I don't think i ever stated how old Kagome was, if i did, someone correct me. But she's 16 1/2. Where i live, you only have to be 15 to get your full drivers license. And in this story its around the beginning of June, so school for Kagome has been out for almost a month. ((my school lets out at May 5th, so will Kagome's)) The next chapter should be out by tomorrow. I'm on a roll, W00T! ^^'
A question...does anyone know what Youko's outfit is called? The one he's always in when he transforms in the anime? My mind is like a junk drawer, i know its there, i just cant find it.
Also, i didn't have time to go back and do a re-read, only spell check. Sorry about that ^^
-Chapter four-
.:Kagome's prov:.
It was the strangest feeling, i decided. Being kissed, i mean. Especially if its someone you like, or more importantly love. I didn't love Youko, not yet, but still the feeling was exquisite. A rush of anticipation as said person's ((or ghost)) lips were descending upon your own, then a gasp when a zap of thrill runs though you, knowing you getting kissed. Even more so when its your first kiss. I always though that the first kiss should be important, romantic, a memory you would never forget...With something that was human. Never in my musings did it ever occur to me that i might actually like getting kissed by a ghost, who just-so-happens to become solid when he wants.
Oh, my, but his tongue could do wondrous things. I moaned, how shameless of me. I could feel his smirk--that special sexy one--on my lips at the muted sound. My face was no doubt flushed. I could feel his hand in my hair, massaging the back of my neck, pulling me closer to his--surprisingly--warm body. His free hand was trailing up my pant covered thigh. drawing small circles with his thumb. I whimpered and used my hands to grab the front of his shirt, fisting them in the silky material.
He pulled back and i felt disappointment surge though me, but also at the same time my mind was shouting at me.
What are you thinking?!
I wasn't, but really, how could you think when something so inhumanly sexy was shoving his tongue down your throat. Exactly...
He raised a hand and laid it gently on my cheek, his fingers brushing over my kissed lips. A boyish grin settled on his features.
He chuckled. "So responsive, little one, but I should have known you'd be a feisty lover."
I brought my hand up and flicked his nose. He gasped at me and covered the abused appendage. "How dare you try to punish me like a common dog!" he said with mock heat, then a lecherous glow shined in his eyes, "I know of a much more efficient way to get me to do what you want..." he wiggled his eyebrows before i smacked his lovely face with a conveniently placed pillow. "You wound me, little one, " was his muffled comment.
I snorted and de-tangled my self from him. For the life of me, i couldn't figure out what made me react like that. But i didn't morn on the thought, what happened happened and i sure as hell wasn't going to regret that mind blowing first kiss. It shocked me though, to know such a precious thing ((to me anyways)) was taken by a ghost..that was solid. Damn, that fact still left me stumped.
I heard him sigh, and turned around to face him, once again sitting Indian style in front of him. His image blurred and he was translucent again.
"That's always so tiring," he muttered, adjusting his clothing.
I tucked my hair behind my ears, "How long can you hold it?"
He seemed to think for a moment, "Not sure, the longest I've held was a little over 45 minutes."
Mmm, just enough time to-Woh! Were did that though come from? I could feel the blush make its way up my hair line. Youko chuckled.
"Thinking something naughty, lover?" his face was a look of pure innocence. Bastard.
"None of your business, ya damn pervert! And who says i was thinking about you, anyways?" That one shut him up. Something flashed behind his eyes, and his hands momentarily clinched at his sides. Then he calmed, like nothing happened.
He looked to the door suddenly, "I'll see you later, little one." Then, he was gone. The door swung open then, making me jump. Damnit, why cant anyone learn to knock?
Mom was standing there, looking briefly around my room, her face contorted into disgust, like she smelled something bad. Then, it was gone. She stepped inside, almost hesitantly, like something would crawl out from under the bed and attack her.
"Ohh, there you are, dear," she said as though she had been looking all over for me, where else would i have been? "You need to clean you room, Hun, its messy." The tone almost made me want to frown, but like a good girl, i kept the happy smile and nodded. My room was spotless, i may not be overly girlie-girl; but i liked a clean room, if nothing else. "Anyway, Souta and i are going into town. Since you have your allowance, i thought you might like to come." I fiddled with my pants leg. I did need some books and a new pen...damn.
I nodded, reaching for my beside table drawer to pull out my wallet.
"Well, then, come on. We don't have all day." With that said, she turned her heal and walked out of the room. I sighed and made my way after her, not getting lose on the way down. woohoo, three times in a row, I'm on a roll!
____________________________________________________________
It was an hour and a half to the nearest town, thank God above mom drove the Cadillac. I was in the back with Souta, a notebook in hand. I was doodling what was supposed to be a dragon--when in reality it looked like a dying cat--when mom cleared her throat. Souta was playing with a handheld gaming...thing, i had no idea what brand or even what the hell it was for. I was just assuming the graphic sounds had something to do with a video game.
I clicked the pen shut and shifted my eyes to the rear view mirror. Mom was occasionally looking at me though the glass. I closed the notebook like a good child and gave her my undivided attention. Or as much as i was capable of.
"Dear, Your father has to go to New York for business and has asked Souta and I to attend with him." She pause, waiting for my reaction i guess. I didn't think jumping up and shouting "Yay!" was something she wanted, so i just blinked cutely. She continued, "I'm sure you're wondering why Souta is coming? Well, there will be an Anime convention in the same area and while Kazoku's doing business i can take him by there. You donut mind being alone for a week or two, right sugar?" she didn't wait for a reply, "I knew you would understand, Hun. The plane leaves tomorrow at noon, Kazoku will provide you with money for food and the keys to the Volkswagen so you can go into town." She finished off with a happy smile and flipped on the radio to a low setting, oldies music drifting through the car.
Personally, I'm surprised that she knew i had a drivers license. She never helped me out with training, or even provided a car. Though i do have the satisfaction of knowing i did it all on my own. I only failed my test twice. Well, the satisfaction of doing it on my own three times. But i got it, so hey, who cares? At least their leaving my a good car. The Volkswagen beetle is actually my Moms car, silver in color thank God. I would walk to town before i drove a hot pink beetle like she had originally wanted.
-----------
The town was small, homey in a sense. Sidewalks, people walking their dogs, kids flying by on bikes or skateboards. Little shops all smudged together in one setting. Drug store, clothing store, food store, shoe store, gaming store, a few small restaurants here and there, a pet store, book store and the art store. Like one giant Wal-mart.
We split up on means to meet back at there square with in the next hour. Mom to the clothing store, Souta to the gaming store and me to look around the town at a lost. I guessed the best place to go was the art store first, mission: to get a pen.
Small bells chimed above my head as i entered, momentarily causing all eyes to snap to me. I ignored the looks and made my way through the aisles. I had about 100 bucks from saving up my allowance, time to spend some of it. I may not be materialistic, but if you got money, why not spend it? On my way to the pens, i grabbed a sketch pad, i was wasting to much notebook space with my crappy doodles, and some wood glue, for when something falls apart. I know it will. With that old ass house, its kind of inevitable.
Finally at the pens, i grabbed a regular black ball point ink pen, and some pastel gel pens. I felt triumphant in my findings and headed toward the counter to pay up. No line, hell yeah!
When i paid, i made my way to the book store. Books R'Us, Hn, how eloquently put. I looked quickly, time really does fly when your actually doing something you like. I picked out Twilight by Stephanie Meyer, i heard it was really good, and A Certain Slant Of Light by Laura Whitcomb. I paid for them and made it back to the town square. The square was in the middle of the shopping setting, it looked like a small park in the middle of the street. A swing set, two slides, one of those jungle gyms things and a hand full of wooden benches. I didn't see Mom or Souta anywhere, but the car was parked in the same place, so at least i knew they didn't leave me. Surprise.
I sat down on the swing nearest to the street, there was and elderly couple a few feet to my left, watching the kids play, throwing bread crumbs on the ground for the flocking pidgin's. I almost laughed at the cliché picture the scene made. I laid my bags beside me and pushed my legs out slightly, causing the swing to teeter back and forth in a lazy matter. I almost hated moments like these, the ones where your at peace for one moment and your mind starts to drift to places you'd rather it not go. I though about the coming weeks, and about how i would be alone. I loved being alone, no doubt about that, but the thought of being alone with Youko was another story. Maybe i could bully him into telling me about his past? Or how he can become solid, that was a good start. But it was that little fact that made me want to steer clear of him. I, personally, didn't think i could control myself around him. That little scene earlier has me spooked, no pun intended.
I was so close to jumping his bones, it wasn't even funny. And even though he i gave him my first kiss, i wasn't so sure i could give him something more intimate. Even though, as a girl, I've never thought, or even dreamed about getting married. Its never been one of my priorities, and i while i would love a boyfriend, the thought of being tied to someone for the rest of my like scared me. And i hated that.
The sound of a ball bouncing snapped my head up, a neon green squishy ball rolled to me and stopped at my foot. I reached down and picked it up as a little boy came bounding up to me. His bright red-orange hair shown in the sunlight and his grass green eyes shined up at me, as though i was God. He looked about six or seven. There was something about him, something strange, something familiar. I raised an eyebrow at him. He blushed cutely and shuffled his feet.
"My names Shippou, can i have my ball back, miss?" I giggled at his introduction, and nodded, handing the ball back. He accepted it and walked to the swing next to me, jumping up and swinging slowly, smiling at me, like he was waiting for something. Ohh, right.
"I'm Kagome," I smiled slightly.
His eye lit up and he grinned at me. "Cool, Im six and a half. How old are you?"
"Sixteen."
"Wow, you're old. But in a good way! My brother just turned seventeen, he can drive and everything!" He said enthusiastically, happy-ness spreading over his features in a love for his older sibling. "Do you have a brother?"
I nodded, "Younger brother, he's ten, going to be eleven in June. Who's here with you, Shippou?"
He swung back and forth, "My brother, my Dad is away on business. My mom died when i was born."
"I'm sorry,"
"Me too," He said sadly.
"My dad died when i was ten."
"I'm sorry,"
I smiled, "Me too," I looked around the square, "Where's your brother?"
"Over there," He pointed to my right, the bench farthest from us. A boy, looking around 18, was sitting on the seat, his legs crossed, looking over in our direction. He was in the direct sunlight, his hear gleaming a brilliant red in color, eye the perfect apple green. His face had a feminine look to it, but there was no mistaking the masculinity. He was wearing a white silk shirt, and black slacks. His aura was strange, too, like Shippou's. I got the same feeling i got when Youko was around. I was staring and i new it, i blushed and looked down. Shippou chuckled.
"Don't feel bad, he has that effect on every girl he meets."
I glanced over at him, "You sure don't sound like a six year old," i mumbled.
"Six and a half," he corrected.
"Right," I looked back at my watch, "My mom and my brother should be here soon."
"I'll wait with you! Suuichii said i can stay as long as i want!"
"Suuichii?"
"That's my name," a deep voice said from beside me. I jumped. The boy from earlier was in-front of us, chuckling. "Sorry, i didn't mean to scare you," he apologized.
I waved him off, "I'm a paranoid person by nature," I said, effectively keeping my blush at bay. "I'm Kagome Higurashi," I held out my hand. He grasped onto it with a smile.
"Suuichii Minamino," My his hand was warm, i thought as a shiver tried to make its way down my spine. The blush forced its way up and Suuichii smiled, dropping my hand. "I do hope my brother hasn't been any trouble,"
"Hey! I'm not trouble!"
"No, not trouble at all. He's very smart for his age," I grinned over at him.
"Darn strait, I am! You should listen to her, Suuichii, she's really smart." He paused, "And beautiful!"
"I would be flattered if i knew you weren't buttering me up just so i will say more nice things about you." i said dryly, causing him to blush shyly and look away.
"Kagome! Hurry up, dear, don't make us wait on you all day! I have better things to do!" My mom screeched from the car window, looking at me with a stern look. I sighed and scooped up my bags. Standing, i could tell Suuichii was tall, but really, who wasn't taller than Miss. five-foot-two. He was at least a full foot taller than me. I ruffled Shippou's hair, causing him to squeak in displeasure. "Nice talkin` to ya, kid." I gave him one of my genuine happy smiles and he smiled back. I looked back to his brother, "You too, Suuichii."
"Likewise,"
"Will i ever see you again? Brother brings me here every Friday, can you come again then? Please, please, please?" Shippou asked, his eyes watery and pleading.
I ignored my mothers squawking. "Sure, my parents will be out of town for a few weeks, i guess i can be here ever Friday. What time?"
Suuichii answered, "Around 1:00 or 2:00, we're usually here for a few few hours. There's not other park close by."
I smiled and nodded, walking toward my mothers car. "I'll be there, see ya!" i threw over my shoulder, waving backwards.
I climbed into the car, fasting my seat belt.
"Kagome, next time when i call you, i expect you to come right then and there, do i make my self clear?" She sounded angry, a headed glare burning me from the rear view. I looked out the window to Shippou and Suuichi, giving them a small smile and a tiny wave, to which Shippou gladly returned it.
"Crystal,"

"Crystal,"
