Into the Gekkou

Warning: Language, sexual situations

Notes: Wow..just..wow...when was the last time i updated, again?...too long, right? yeah, sorry...I'm not really sure on how to continue. There's going to be a fight..that inevitable, but, I'm not good at fight scenes...oh, woe is me.

..and i just noticed, I've been changing Kagome's dad's name from Kenkou to Kazoku..how that happened, i don't know. I'm sorry about that. But, I am surprised no one has noticed it. When the story is finished, I'll go back and change it. But, for now, Kagome's dad is Kazoku.

Oh, and, also, to a response to one of the reviews: I know Okinawa doesn't mean 'fruit bat'. I got suspicious, since i knew Okinawa was an island, or something. I looked it up, and it doest mean fruit bat, but, i figured, "ohh, well, there are at least 10 stories out there that say that 'yes, it does'. So, maybe no one will notice..." Well, i was wrong. But, reviewer, you didn't have to be a smart-ass about it. >.> But, for now, I'm just going to call him 'fruit bat' and when i have the time to edit the story, I'll change it. In the mean time, does any one know the real way to say fruit bat in Japanese? O_O

-Chapter 12: Dreams in Red-

Kuronue cursed again as his keen ears picked up the sound of thunder rumbling in the distance. Hell, he thought, anyone would've heard that.

Three days...three freaking days since they had left the village walls. Youko, Kazoku, three fighters who volunteered from the village, and himself. The had gone in circles twice, ambushed once by Kagomes kidnappers, and now, it seemed, it was going to rain.

As soon as the thought passed through his tired mind, a single drop of natural water fell from the heavens and landed on his nose. The smell of rain was stronger now, and everyone stopped simultaneously. They looked at each other as the sky opened up and dropped waterfall proportions on top of them. Kuronue heard most of them curse in frustration, and he felt defeat wash over him.

It was worse enough that his love and possible mate was kidnapped on her way to his home, but it really hurt him to know that he couldn't protect her. Kuronue didn't know where the hell she was, or even who she was with, for that matter. They could be hurting her, or starving her...or worse.

And now, the rain was washing away the bastards scent, and they may never be able to find her. If it was one thing a vampire youkai was good at, it was hiding.

Vampire youkai, generally, keep to themselves. They're weak in strength, they're only skill really being manipulation with the eyes. But, catch yourself staring in one of those suckers eyes, and you're gone. Most vamps, depending on how much trouble they tend to cause, keep hundreds of fighters, slaves really. Kuronue knew Kagome captor would be easy to beat. But with only six fighters, how far could they get to Kagome through hundreds, maybe thousands, depending on how strong this guy was.

Kuronue cursed under his breath again and looked up. Rain fell down harshly in his face, blinding him, but he glared on. The Gods were laughing at him now...he was sure of it.

"Hey!" Someone yelled up ahead of him, and his ears perked up.

"I've found the sent again, the castle should be just up ahead."

Kuronue let a smile grace his face for the first time since Kagome was kidnapped. He was going to save her.

< br> Kagome winced and bit her lip to stifle a pain induced moan from escaping her bruised lips. She dug her blunt nails into the soft plush covers beneath her, her eyes squinting shut. Her claws had been cut hours ago, and due to her human side, they had yet to grow back. She growled deep in her throat. She would give anything for just a little power..just a little. She would fry Kyuuketsuki's smirking face right off. A small gold necklace jangled around her throat as the bed moved in time with the Vampire's thrusts. The chains were really unneeded, the necklace was power induced, and it kept Kagomes powers at bay, and she was to physically weak to fight him.

Kyuuketsuki grinned devilishly at her show of attitude as he ruthlessly pounded into her. She had to be sore, he thought, he hadn't let up on her since she got her precious nails cut. He moaned and sped up his pace as she cried out, more tears leaking out from her shut lids. He watched through a pleasurable haze as she tugged on the chains wrapped around her wrists. The skin had been rubbed raw, red, blood welling up and running down her arms as she fought harder. She was weak, he could tell. She never slept, too scared, he figured. She didn't eat the food he provided, even though he didn't bother to poison it. The girl was going to kill herself if he wasn't careful.

Kagome almost sighed with relief when he stilled above her, and a warmth filled her womb. She felt even more disgusted with herself and she wondered if she would ever get the feeling of him inside her out of her mind. His..fluids mixed with her own. He bent down slowly, now spent, and bit the side of he neck, the same spot every time. She didn't even wince this time, so used to the sudden pain. Then the high when he drank her blood, the feeling of calmness came over her as he pulled back. It aways felt that way, like he slipped some sort of drug in her blood stream.

Maybe he had, she thought.

He pulled back, walked naked to the tall wardrobe, and pulled out a silk robe. As he tied it, he turned and looked at Kagome. His lip pulled back over his fangs as he scoffed.

"I'm going to send some maids in here shortly to clean you up, and feed you." He looked at her harshly as he opened the door to his room, "You will eat, i will not have you die on me, Kagome."

She sunk deeper into the covers as he closed the door behind him, and listened as his footsteps sounded in the hall. She let her arms hang loosely in they're shackles, then winced when her wrists burned as beads of sweat fell into open wounds. She jumped, when minutes later, two older woman walked into the room. A huge man fallowed, carrying a basin full of clean water.

After the man had sat the basin down, he turned and walked out the door. The locks sounded loud in the room as the man turned all the keys in place.

The woman wasted no time in unchaining Kagome, and helping her walk to the basin. Since she was already nude, they just let her sit in the basin, it was big enough to hold her. Kagome hissed silently as she was lowered down into the water, but it felt good against her skin after the burning went away.

Kagome held tears behind her eyes as the younger woman washed her skin, her flesh being harshly washed to a bright pink.

"Lay back," the older woman instructed as she lifted a cup out of the water.

Kagome complied, and leaned back as the woman poured the water over her hair, and squeezed some herb shampoo into her thick, messy hair. She sighed to herself as the woman gently massaged her scalp, then rinsed her hair clean.

Fifteen minutes later, after Kagome was thoroughly cleaned, her hair even conditioned, she sat on the now clean bed of Kyuuketsuki's, in some clothes provided by the woman. A large tray of food sat in-front of her, and she just looked at it. Finally, after five minutes of staring, she sighed and gave in, eating slowly.

Kyuuketsuki walked in after Kagome had eaten half her food, and looked approvingly at the tray, and Kagome herself.

"Hn, you're finally eating. Good." he walked past her quickly, and pulled out two swards from a wooden box beside the bed. "There's some idiots raiding the castle." he scoffed as he suited up in thick, heavy looking armor. "Baka, as if they could take me down." He situated his weapons, and headed back for the door. "Stay here, don't try to leave, you wont make it too far."

"Are you fighting?" Kagome asked in a small voice, as she stuffed another piece of bread in her mouth.

"Tch, no. I have hundreds of men to do the fighting for me. The swards are just in case i need them, but i wont." he said over his shoulder as he closed the door. She listened as he hatched the locks, and talked quietly with the guards outside the room.

As she nibbled on a grape, Kagome thought about the men Kyuuketsuki talked about.

"Who would raide this castle?" she thought aloud, pushing the tray away, now having her fill. Then, she froze, and stared at the wall. Motionless, she thought:

Youko and Kuronue....

She let out a yelp of pain as a burning sensation spread up her right leg, and made its way up her torso. She grunted as she fell to the floor, and another shot of pain racked its was through her body.

"K-kami," she breathed as tears fell down her cheeks, "Wha--whats happening to m-m-me...?" Her back bowed and she screamed as a million and one colors flashed before her eyes and the skin on her face felt like it was being burnt off.

And then, there was nothing.

< br> It had stopped raining, but that didn't make things easier.

Kuronue grunted as he wiped some fallen blood off his face, and leaped over another dead body. He looked over though the haze of thinning youkai at the entrance of the small castle, and watched as Youko finished off five more guys with his rose whip. On the top balcony, there was a vampire youkai with long silver hair, looking down upon the battle and smirking. A glint in his eyes that would put the devil to shame. He growled as another youkai came at him, but quickly cut open his stomach with just a swing of his sward.

"That's him," Youko yelled out, voicing Kuronue's thoughts. He jumped when Kazoku ran up behind him, a few cuts on his face, but the majority of blood on his person was someone--or something--else's.

Kazoku placed a hand on Kuronues shoulder, and gave it a squeeze. "Me and Urasu will distract him and his two guards, go find Kagome when his attention is directed to us." Without waiting for an answer, he waved over a large youkai, and they readied their weapons and took flight towards the balcony.

Kuronue took off running as fast as he could and as he passed Youko, he called out just loud enough for him to hear. "Kill as many as you can, then fallow my scent to help me with Kagome."

Youko gave a small nod and launched his rose whip out again, striking a couple more down, wrinkling his nose as a few drops of blood splattered on his cheek.

"Hurry up and find her, my friend, for we are losing fire power." he murmured to himself as he watched the other men fighting. Though they were killing many, the army was seemingly building, he knew they wouldn't last much longer.

Kagome blinked, and stared at the ceiling for a moment, willing the feeling to come back into her body. She jumped when she heard a body slam up against the door, and a gurgle. She sat up as the cling of metal to metal sounded in the hall way.

"Oww," she sighed out as she looked down at her body. She looked the same, but she knew something was different. Her claws had grown back, but that was--.

She gasped and grabbed onto a strand of her hair.

"B-black.."

She jumped up and sprinted to the full lengh mirror, ignoring the scorching pain shooting up her back at the harsh movement. She stood in-front of the mirror, her eyes wide and her hand over her mouth. She gasped.

"What the hell..?" she breathed, her feet moving at their own accord closer to the mirror.

Her hair hadn't grown longer, but it was black, and in ringlet curls, giving the illusion it was shorter, now just falling barely to the middle of her back. Her once green eyes, were now the same color of Kyuuketsuki's. She looked down at her arms, and pulled up the night gown and gazed down at her skin.

No scars. Not even a scratch.

Her fangs, and wings were still in place, the only thing unchanging. Her facial structure, the same. But she didn't recognize herself, she wanted the old Kagome back.

Kagome jumped and yelped in surprise and the door flew open, and one of the guards flew across the room into the wall, leaving a trail of blood as his body slid to the ground with a muffled thud.

She back up against the wall and wrapped her arms around herself . Bracing for the unknown, she squeezed her eyes tight.

"Kagome?"

Her eyes flew open and she stared at Kuronue, who was half leaning against the wall, breathing hard.

"Kuro-kuronue..." she gasped out as she slowly walked away from the wall.

He pushed away from the wall, and slowly walked towards her. "Kagome, is that--is that you?" he breathed, astonished at her change, but his brain wouldn't let him dwell on it as he was way to happy to see her alive, and looking..okay.

A choked sob escaped her throat she she flung herself into his arms, and held on for dear life, ignoring how the blood on his clothes rubbed off onto her own. He gave a grunt of discomfort, but Kagome only squeezed harder, squinting her eyes shut as tears threatened to spill over. "Ohh, Gods, Kuronue...are--are you really here?"

His arms came up to wrap around her waist, wincing as the cut on his stomach burned with the rub of her fabric against the open wound, but he didn't care as he buried his face in her curly hair. She smells different, he thought, but he ignored it, there were important things than her smell, and he looks like: "Kagome, are you okay?!" His voice went up a notch, an inch away from panic level.

She pulled back slightly and looked up and, making sure his eyes were on her, moved the curls aside to show him the semi-fresh fang marks, the only scars that didn't disappear, and the main on that she wanted gone. As Kuronues eyes turned hard, Kagome bit her lip a little too harshly, causing a small amount of blood to come to the surface and trickle down her chin. The koumori's eyes softened, and he leaned down and licked the blood off her face, causing a faint blush to raise on her cheeks at the contact.

Kuronue smiled slightly at the blush and hugged her gently to his chest, threading his fingers through her inky black hair. He sighed internally, his mind going a mile a minute, twisting and turning thoughts and feelings together, almost confusing his distraught brain. He knew what those marks meant, but a part of him wished he didn't. Kagome was Kyuuketsuki's mate, mate.

Kuronue felt sick at the thought.

And since she was his..mate, it meant that there was a chance that she could die if Kyuuketsuki did, and that thought didn't quite sit well with him, and he had a feeling that Youko would feel the same. His hand absently rubbed her lower back as he spoke, vaguely hoping it would calm her, though he was really the one in need of calming. "Kagome, you know, there is"--he choked out--"a possibility that if Kyuuketsuki dies, you will too. When he bit you, he marked you, as in you are his m-mate, which would explain the changes in you hair and eyes. You're not half human, half bat youkai...the vampire blood has overridden your human blood." A growl bubbled up his throat and spilled though his lips, his teeth clinching against the lust for the Vamps blood running though his fingers.

Kagome pulled back, not bothering with the tears staining her cheeks, and touched the growling youkai lightly on the shoulder, snapping him out of his blood-bath day dreams. He looked down on her has she motioned to the necklace laying gently in the hallow of her throat. "Take this off, its holding back my powers." as she spoke, she turned and lifted up her hair, baring the clasp.

Kuronue nodded to himself and grabbed both sides of the seemingly dainty jewelry, and pulled untill it broke. He frowned as he looked at his blistered fingers, then jumped back in shock as Kagome was engulfed in a greenish-purple light, and the room was filled with her energy, and Kuronue bared his fangs as it stung his skin, the corners of his eyes filling with involuntary tears.

The light died down quickly enough, and Kagome flashed her companion a brilliant smile. With eager eyes, she held out her hand, and they both watched as it was encased in neon apple green light. Kagome felt a rush of thrill run though her veins, and she gave a wicked smirk, causing Kuronues eyebrows to raise as the girl walked casually to the entrance.

"Whats done cannot be undone," she murmured, stepping over a corps, her bare feet leading her to her unwanted lovers chambers.

Sorry again about the very very late update, but, hey, at least i did update. XD

Ohh, haha, "Whats done cannot be undone." is a quote from William Shakespeare's Macbeth, Act V, Sc 1. I put that in there, `cause i wanted her to say something..dramatic.
