Meanwhile, back in the past, Inuyasha stomped himself back into the village. Grabbing the monk up by his robes, and dragged him off to the privacy of the hot spring. Tossing Miroku onto the ground, he sat himself down in a huff. His arms crossing over his chest, and hands hiding themselves in his haori sleeves.

“What happened, Inuyasha? I thought you were going to let her stay home for a few days.” Miroku asked the hanyou, quizzically. Inuyasha turned his head upright, giving Miroku a death glare.

“I went back, because I felt that she needed me. And I found her house full of male stench, demon too non-the-less!” Inuyasha huffed out, his face was beginning to flush with anger, at the remembrance of being `sat'. He huffed again, slamming himself back into a tree, glaring at the ground; knowing his heat cycle was coming to an end and the new moon was going to rise.

“I didn't mean to, but I cut her. She pushed me away, and I cut her on the thigh with my claws.” Inuyasha said, in a hushed voice, earning himself a glance from the monk.

“It seems, you're worse off than I thought. You shouldn't try to take her as a mate, when she doesn't want to be a mate to someone whom she believes hates her. Yes, I know, that you do not hate her. But she doesn't know that, Inuyasha. She thinks the only reason you spend time with her at all, is because Kikyou isn't around.” Miroku stated, and it made Inuyasha's heart clench. He knew the monk was right, and knew that if he was going to bed Kamina; he needed to do it while he was either in human form, or not in his heat cycle.

Inuyasha huffed lightly, his cheeks losing the red tint which his anger had caused, “I know, Miroku. It just hurts, her being willingly in the company of other men, knowing that I would do anything for her.” He stated, once more earning a glance from Miroku.

Miroku sighed, standing from where he had made himself comfortable, “Inuyasha, she's afraid that you really don't want her, and that your heart is stuck on Kikyou and Kagome. You must push your past aside, if you want a future. True enough, that you loved Kikyou and Kagome, but Kamina is neither of them. She's herself. And she needs someone to love her for herself, not for her body, or powers…” Miroku spoke softly, in his serious tone, shifting eyes to gaze at Inuyasha. “Do you understand, what I'm trying to say, Inuyasha?” His voice finally faded, and he sighed when he heard Inuyasha ruffling around in the leaves.

“I understand, I have to get past loving others…before I can love her with all of my heart. Which is what I want to do, I want to give her everything that she's ever wanted.” Inuyasha spoke, his voice holding a feeling of adoration for the monk, which he never let out before.

“I want to be able to love, and hold her in my arms, and make love to her. I don't want to fuck her, or have sex with her. I want to be gentle, and…I want her to love me for it.” Inuyasha finished his talking, and he was looking up to Miroku. “In ways, I want to be like you Miroku. To go about, playfully flirting with girls, without feeling that ping of guilt in my heart.” And that's when Miroku stopped him, with his own voice.

“Inuyasha, I always feel a ping in my heart when I flirt with women. I only flirt with them, because I want an heir to my name; that's all. And don't make the mistake of thinking that you're the only male being who wants to do that, Kouga and myself, want to hold her in our arms and make her love us. But her heart, it aches for you. That singing she did earlier, those songs, were meant for you. They were meant for you to hear them, for you to know that she loved you, and that she would do anything to make sure that you are happy.” Miroku stopped, knowing he had caught the half-demons attention. Stooping to kneel before Inuyasha, he placed his hands on the hanyou's shoulders.

“I love Kamina, I love her dearly, and so does everyone else that she knows. Even Sango holds love for the girl, yes, that sort of love. Sango had brushed me off, told me she didn't love me months ago, because of Kamina.” Giving a gentle yet firm squeeze to Inuyasha's shoulders, Miroku shook his head somewhat.

“I don't know what it is, but something draws everyone and everything to Kamina. And it makes me jealous, that she looks at you with yearning in her eyes. She looks at you with love in her eyes, Inuyasha. Or she did. I'm not sure what your actions this morning have done to your potential relationship with Kamina, but…You should want her to be happy, no matter what. No matter who she chooses, you should want her to be happy, and smiling.” Miroku stopped his talking as he stared at Inuyasha's golden eyes.

“Understood?” He said that last word, silently. And upon Inuyasha's nod, he stood up. Brushing his clothing of dirt, and holding his hand out to Inuyasha. Inuyasha took hold of his hand, and Miroku pulled him up to a stand, and they began their walk back to the village; to await Kamina's return.
