Prologue

 

 

It was about two p.m. Yoko, Kuronue, and Yomi were relaxing a while before planning thier next raid when they sensed someone had entered the woods they owned. Never accepting trespassing the three demons set out to see who had entered thier woods. After successfully leaving the palace in record time they heard a scream that belonged to a female. After running through the woods for fifteen minutes the three demons noticed something lying on the ground.

 

It was a half demon fox girl who had on a baby blue kimono that stopped above her knees lying face down on the ground revealing a tail. Yoko then controlled some vines to flip her over and the girl looked about the age of sixteen but she was unconscience and badly beaten with three gashes one on her stomach, one on her arm, and one on her ankle that had blood trickling down some of her body and she also had fox ears at the top of her head. Her hair, tail, and ears were aqua also she had alot of dirt on her. There were many scents on her so that proved she had been jumped.

 

"So what will we do with her Yoko?" Yomi asked observing the girls body.

 

"We could use an extra servant for the palace besides we can't just leave her here." Yoko responded as a familiar presence approached.

 

"Ah Sesshomaru how good of you to join us." Kuronue said looking at the approaching dog lord who had his companions Jaken and Rin with him. The three demons saw how much Rin ad grown considering that she was twelve now.

 

"Who is she?" Sesshomaru said clearly talking about the fox girl.

 

"Don't know?" Yoko responded as he kneeled down and picked the girl up bridal style as he turned around heading back to the palace as the others followed behind him. When they reached the castle Yoko turned around looking at Sesshomaru.

 

"Do you mind if I borrow Rin?" Sesshomaru only noded his answer approving that Yoko may see the human girl. Rin ran beside Yoko immediately not questioning his reasoning of needing her as he took the hall to the right.

 

"You guys go to the library I will join you shortly." Yoko said as Kuronue, Yomi, Sesshomaru, and Jaken took the huge hall to the left.

 

After about two minutes of walking Yoko and Rin came across a two huge doors to the right which they stopped at. Seeing that Yoko's hands were full Rin opened the right door for him only to discover a huge hot spring like room that had sky blue tiles on the ground. Yoko and Rin immediately entered as Yoko sat the fox girl on the tiles right next to the hot water.

 

"Could you do me a favor and wash the girl for me and wrap her wounds?"

 

"Yes sir." Rin responded.

 

"I will have a servant bring you a new kimono to dress her in and some bandages. Come and get me when you are finished I will be located in the library if you don't remember where that is at then ask a nearby servant." With that Yoko turned around and left the room closing the right door behind him. On his way to the library he met up with one of the servants name Rei who at the moment had nothing to do. Rei was a dog demon with black shoulder length hair and lime colored eyes.

 

"Will you take some bandages to the hot spring room on this level and while you are at it get the girls measurments to take her a new kimono from the room filled with new clothing."

 

"Yes sir." Rei said while bowing and heading to the first aid room to get the bandages. Yoko then continued his way to the library. After about five minutes Yoko entered two more large doors but this time it was an even bigger room with many bookshelves and books. Yoko made his way over to the right to the casual table and sat down between Kuronue and Sesshomaru who were discussing among each other as Yomi just sat there listening.

 

"So when are you going to join us Sesshomaru?" Kuronue asked curiously.

 

"I thought I told you I don't steal." Sesshomaru responded in his usual cold voice.

 

"So anyways Yoko where is Rin?" Kuronue asked the king of thieves.

 

"She is cleaning up the vixen." Yoko responded.

 

"I take it you couldn't do such a thing." Kuronue said getting at that his partner was clearly a pervert.

 

"Are you implying that I would have did something to the girl?" Yoko asked the bat demon.

 

"Maybe." Kuronue said clearly toying with Yoko.

 

"I don't take advantage of females especially when they are unconcious."

 

"So which room are you going to put her in?" Yomi asked clearly changing the subject.

 

"I don't know it depends on how she acts." Yoko stated.

 

"What do you mean how she acts?" Kuronue asked.

 

"We found her after she got jumped so clearly she had to do something to get jumped or she was attacked by people rading the nearby village." Yoko said not knowing which one. He was considering putting her in the room that Rin stayed in whenever she came with Sesshomaru and Jaken but first he had to see how this girl acts not wanting to bring any harm upon Rin. Speaking of Jaken where was he? Looking around he saw Jaken looking at all of the books in the library. Soon after Rin came through the library doors looking around for Yoko. She then spotted him at the table with her lord, Kuronue, and Yomi.

 

"I am finished the servant you sent also assisted me." Rin told Yoko as he got up and headed towards the door.

 

"How come something tells me the vixen is going to become conscience well I am not losing out on information." Kuronue said as he got up to follow Yoko. With nothing to lose Yomi and Sesshomaru got up and followed leaving Jaken in the library. When they reached the hot springs the vixen was lying on her back clothed in a dark blue kimono that had baby blue flowers that stopped above her knees yet she was still unconscience. She was definantly good looking to Yoko, Kuronue, Yomi, and Sesshomaru. Yoko walked over to the vixen and picked her up cradling her in his arms as he turned around and walked out as Kuronue shut the door.

 

"Um Yoko I think I know who that is." Rin said as Yoko stopped and turned around with a look of `okay well tell us'.

 

"A long time ago when I was only six my family was killed by a bunch of human thieves. That is when Lina started taking care of me. I knew her before hand and she use to play with me but after I was orphened she took care of me. She saved me from many demons but it was a time when she got kicked out of the village. The villagers didn't care for her but she would still play with me and take care of me. In truth she was kicked out because the head person of the village tried to force himself on her and she somehow escaped from him. One day the villages main guards came to our hut and had guns and rifles making her leave. They said if she returned they would kill her but that didn't stop her from seeing me. She used to bring me food and take care of me when she was only four years older from me. I haven't seen her since I met lord Sesshomaru though. She told me that all demons aren't good and all demons weren't bad and the same with humans. She never means any harm to no one in fact she even protected the village from some demons but the villagers never accepted her. The time when the wolves raided the village she came and got me away creating a diversion it was my fault I was discovered because I wasn't quiet enough and the wolves attacked me. Then next thing you know I woke up in lord Sesshomaru's grasp. Lina was the only person I talked to before I met lord Sesshomaru. We had two things in common the villagers never accepted neither one of us and we were orphens. When she was kicked out we couldn't seen each other all day every day so she couldn't bring me food anymore but I learned to take care of myself."

 

"So I take it she is a nice person?" Kuronue asked.

 

"Yes she was very nice when my family was killed and we lived in a hut Lina would rock me in her arms while singing a lullaby until I fell asleep she is like my mommy. Even when the villagers kicked her out she still risked her life to see me once a day by sneaking into the village."

 

"How are you for certain that this is the Lina that you speak of?" Yoko asked.

 

"You see the mark that goes across her inner left thigh she got that by protecting me. This demon tried to kidnap me and she fought him but during the fight he cut her inner left thigh with a sword leaving that scar." Rin explain as Yoko, Kuronue, Sesshomaru, and Yomi indeed saw a scar on her inner left thigh.

 

"How old was she when you last saw her?" Kuronue asked.

 

"The last time I saw her was when I was seven and she was eleven but now I am twelve so she is sixteen."

 

"Well when Lina does wake up I want to get some more information so do you mind if you stay out of her sight for a while?" Yoko asked knowing that if this was the person Rin spoke of she would clearly be too busy with Rin for him to get answers.

 

"Okay but can she share the room with me?" Rin asked curiously.

 

"We will see." Was the only thing Yoko said before the vixen started shifting in his arms which caused him to stop walking which paused the other four. Doing as Yoko said Rin hid herself behind Sesshomaru. Shifting again the vixen rested her head against Yoko's chest while seeking warmth. Becoming aware that she was cradled against a males broad, hard, warm chest the vixen immediately yet unexpectantly jumped down from Yoko's arms suspisciously looking at Yoko, Kuronue, Sesshomaru, and Yomi with her aqua eyes the same color as her elbow length hair. The vixen was about 5 feet 6 inches tall and had the most beautiful caramel colored skin the four demons had seen. The vixen then looked down to see that her full right arm and left ankle was wrapped in badages and she felt that her stomach was wrapped too and that she was clean and had on a different kimono. Looking up almost breaking her the vixen looked up to see she was in the tall foxes arms.

 

"Who are you four and where am I?" The vixen said staying on guard knowing by the way they looked the were indeed ruthless warriors although the 7'1 silver haired fox, 6'4 black haired bat, 5'10 and white/silver haired dog was good looking.

 

"You are safe now you are in the thieves palace." Yoko answered as the vixens eyes got big.

 

"You mean where the king of thieves Yoko Kurama lives?" the fox asked.

 

"Yes and I am Yoko Kurama." Yoko answered as the fox slowly started backing up.

 

"You mean you are the king of thieves, boogey man, ruthless warrior, master of plants Yoko Kurama who can be stealing from somebody while he is stealing from somebody who can be cold hearted!" The vixen said clearly frightened as Yoko only nodded.

 

"And you are?" The vixen said pointing at Kuronue.

 

"Kuronue." The vixen's eyes got even bigger.

 

"You mean the boogey mans partner and best friend, who together it really spells trouble, the bat demon who uses shadow attacks and can slip through shadows Kuronue?" Kuronue only nodded his answer. The next thing you know Jaken starts running through the hall yelling lord Sesshomaru as Sesshomaru slightly turned his head.

 

"Did he just say lord Sesshomaru you mean the first son of Inutaishio, the lord of the western lands, the aristocratic assassin Sesshomaru who never shows emotion and cares for no one! Please don't tell me you are that Sesshomaru who can be killing somebody while he is killing somebody!" The vixen said dramatically while pointing at Sesshomaru who only nodded.

 

"And you are?" The vixen said pointing at Yomi.

 

"Yomi." Yomi stated as the vixen started yet another dramatic speech.

 

"You mean the Yomi." The vixen said once again acting terrified.

 

"Tell me what have you heard about Yomi?" Kuronue asked.

 

"Absolutely nothing I never even heard his name before in my whole life." The vixen said chipperly as everyone anime fell clearly upsetting Yomi as his eyes started twitching.

 

"Enough with the non-sense tell us your name an what are your powers." Yomi demanded.

 

"Lina, ice powers." The vixen stated clearly keeping an eye on the four demons before her.

 

"Why did we find you in our woods unconscience? What did you do to get jumped? And what is your age?" Yoko asked.

 

"It was a bunch of villagers who heard a rumor saying that I was the one who slaughtered the villagers at a village I used to reside in. Usually I can take humans but it was more than thirty villagers. They chased me to the woods tried to kill me but I avoided most of them as others fled saying they hope I get kill by Yoko Kurama. I am sixteen." Lina explained.

 

"Why did you get kicked out of your old village?" Yoko said knowing already from what Rin said but he wanted to see if she tells the truth.

 

"Because I was a half demon who took care and played with an orphened child. They thought I was with these human thieves who raded and slaughtered the most of the villagers. The head of the village also tried to rape me but when I escaped he said that I did control those human thieves and then the villagers stoned me out of the village and also held guns to me. When all of the villagers were asleep I stuck back in almost every night and stayed with the orphened girl a little making sure that the villagers didn't catch me. They said if I came back they would kill me and the girl." Lina explained looking hurt.

 

"Okay if that happened and the girl is still alive why do you look so hurt?" Kuronue asked.

 

"The village was attacked by wolves and I had the girl escape while I was killing the wolves and distracting them. Wolves found the girl and started pursuing her. When I tried to make it to her more wolves ganged up on me and I fell unconsience because I used most of my energy to kill some wolves before hand when I woke up I tracked her scent and found nothing but a puddle of her blood so basically the wolves devoured her." Lina explained.

 

"What was the girls name?" Kuronue asked knowing the answer was Rin.

 

"Rin." Lina said.

 

"Everywhere you go how come you are kicked out or chased away?" Yomi asked.

 

"Because I am a half demon. Demons nor humans accept me because demons don't like that I am half human and humans don't like that I am half demon. I do nothing wrong but when something happens it is always that untrusting half demon wench. It is my fault I couldn't protect Rin and it was my fault that my mother is dead." Lina said falling to her knees staring at the ground as the demons kept watching her.

 

"What happened to your mother?" Yoko asked.

 

"Some one had killed one of the villagers and automatically they blamed it on me. They were going to kill me but my mother knew that I didn't commit any crimes so she told them to kill her instead and in front of my eyes she was stoned to death while they held me back. I was only four at the time."

 

"Why are you telling us all of this?" Kuronue asked.

 

"I guess I just needed some one to know." Lina said.

 

"Do you trulely miss Rin?" Yoko asked.

 

"Yes she was a good friend the only human who actually accepted me." Lina said almost reaching the breaking point.

 

"Well just to let you know she isn't dead." Yoko said as Lina got up and looked up at him with a hopeful look that he is telling the truth. Just then Sesshomaru stepped to the side revealing Rin as Rin ran and jumped into Lina's arms as Lina embraced the twelve year old human girl.

 

"My little sunshine what happened I thought you were dead. I missed you so much" Lina said very happy.

 

"I don't really know I thought you were dead too I thought the wolves killed you because you were taking on so many." Rin said as she nuzzled her face into Lina's neck.

 

"I am sorry but Lina you have a decision to make do you want to live here and be a servant while sharing a room with Rin everytime she comes or do you want to keep wandering?" Yoko asked looking down at the two females.

 

"How do I know I won't be judged by what I am instead of by how I act here also?"

 

"I won't judge you about you being a half demon I personally don't know about the others though." Yoko said.

 

"I won't judge you either but if I were you I wouldn't do anything rash if you know what is good for you." Yomi said clearly threatening Lina.

 

"I don't judge people either." Kuronue said.

 

"If that is the case I will stay here and be a servant just to stay near my little sunshine." Lina said.

 

"Very well. You will start when your wounds fully heal. Rin please show Lina where the room is and if you want you could give her a tour around. Dinner will be served at six" With that Yoko, Kuronue, Sesshomaru, Yomi, and Jaken turned and headed back the the library.
