Sango winced. “Geez Kagome, walk softer!” She whispered/shouted. Kagome flinched and lifted the offending foot up to set it down warily on the next step. Sango sighed. “Sorry,” she murmured, “It’s-”
“-The stress.” Kagome finished in a whisper for her. “I know, I’m feeling nervous too.” The assignment they were on right now was one of the most dangerous they had been on before.
~* Flashback. It‘s pretty long *.~
Raven blue-black hair swaying gently in the soft night breeze, Kagome slowly made her way home to her apartment she shared with her friends Sango and Rin. ][ I have no clue what their last names are. >/][ But before she could draw out her apartment key, she noticed a silver-tinted package lying to the side of the porch. Judging by the glow around it, she knew it had to be from her organization. She picked it up, the aura which glued it shut dissipated under her touch. Inserting her key into the lock, she stepped in, locking the door behind her. Her mates ][ as in friends. >_>. Not like that, you...freak. =D][ were both in the living rooms, just lounging. Actually, Sango was polishing her giant bone boomerang thing, her katana laying to the side, next in line. Rin was twirling one of her 9mms ][...it’s the only gun I know of. >/ Shut up.][, with one hand, while typing with the other, no doubt finding some another system to hack in. Kagome stepped into the living room, wit the quietness only a predator stalking its prey could manage and carefully made her way over. Rin’s head lifted, averting her gaze from the glowing screen of her laptop.
“Hiya Kagome-chan.” She said brightly, holstering her gun and lifting her tinted goggles off of her face. She blinked once. “Oh and, before you ask, I saw you. Reflection off of my screen.” She said grinning. Kagome closed her mouth.
“Oh.” She gave a grin also. Kagome prided herself on her espionage skills, sneaking in where no one else was able to, her own special skills allowed her to be able to scout out any building or establishment in any given area. Her aura was also one of the most unique; it changed contstantly, and was almost undetectable. She, and members at Ops, were the only people who was able to read it. Practically guaranteeing that her messages would get to only the right people, and no hackers or third-party members would be able to obtain the information. She was also able to retain massive amounts of information at a single time, almost like a photographic memory, which also helped her out greatly. Over the years, she had worked on developing almost a split personality, which allowed her to, while being interrogated, hide behind her ‘shield’, so that no one could get any info out of her. It was also good protection against telepaths and such and good for arguments when she was bored. In addition to being trained by freakin’ ninjas since birth almost, those skills made her one of the top spies since...forever.
Rin looked at Kagome, then replaced her goggles and went back to typing. her long, thin fingers glided across the keyboard as numbers flashed across the screen. Seconds later, the screen flashed green, meaning whatever program she had set her sights on today, had buckled and allowed her access. She flashed Sango, who had looked up when switching her boomerang, Hiraikotsu, for her katana, a triumphant grin.
“I’m in.”
“Excellent. Now, can you get out?”
“Of course. What do you take me for? Some mere hacker?”
Rin, the techie of the group, had a knack for, duh, hacking. She could get into practically any system. Her favorites were banks. She was also handy with her two 9mms, holstered at her sides, and with aim almost as good as Sango’s......yeah. Luck was also her best friend. Currently, she was busy siphoning large sums of money from some foreign bank into her Swiss account. ][ Why Swiss..? Swiss banks, Swiss cheese....sheesh. Rofl ANYways...][ Also, Rin was the only one who could decode the information on the jobs that were sent to them. They were coded in another language entirely, one that she made up when she was in secondary school.
“Okaaaaaaay!” Rin said, clapping once. “It’s done. We’ve got enough to make the queen of England look like a bum.” She removed her goggles, setting them aside.
“Okay. I-” Sango’s gaze brushed over the package Kagome was still holding in her hands. “Kagome-chan, what’s that? Another job?” She asked. Kagome looked at the white envelope she was holding.
“Yeah.” She said tossing it to Rin, who caught it in one hand.
“Ooooh.” She squealed, almost with childish delight. “More puzzles.” She turned away from Sango and Kagome, who was now laying on the couch, to the package which she had taken a thing, small disc from. Reaching into her shirt, she grabbed hold of a chain, of which a thin piece of metal was attached to. Lifting the disc up to eye level, she placed the thin metal plate into an almost invisible groove on the disc. Immediately, a blue glow of light shot up and numbers and figures and strange shapes appeared in a little hologram screen.
Sango looked up to tie her brown hair into a ponytail before going back to polishing her sword. The beat iron, which had slivers of silver melded into it, and holy kanji inscribed on the flat of the blade, was sharpened to a point. It was very flexible and nearly unbreakable. Anyone else besides Sango handling it had a very big chance he or she would be severely hurt. She, on the other hand, used it like it was a very pointy extension of her arm. Which, in a way, it kinda was. Since a very young age, she had been trained in various disciplines, sword fighting one her favorites. She also held knowledge of five different martial arts, and the Hiraikotsu. Her aim was impeccable, beat only by Kagome’s. An excellent strategist, she was kinda the unofficial leader of their elite group.
Kagome was half asleep when Rin’s voice cut through her sleepy haze. She looked at her and blinked. Her normally blue and green aura ][ Blue = Clam, Green = Hyper. xD It’s my stupid fic, I’ll say what colors are what.][ contained streaks of flat grey. ][ anxiety, worry.][ Kagome blinked again. What could be so dangerous that it would faze this happy, hyper girl? She’s never this worried.
Sango, although she wasn’t gifted with the ability to read auras, could also tell something was bothering their friend, from the way she shifted uncomfortably from one side to another.
“What is it?” Kagome asked, projecting a bit of her own calming aura into Rin’s, silvery-blue mixing in with Rin’s multicolored jungle, placating it.
“Well,” Rin began, sensing Kagome’s aura intertwined with hers, strengthening her. “We’ve been assigned another mission. “
“Oh.” Sango said. “It c-” Before she could finish, Rin cut in, her worry now laced with fear.
“We infiltrate Heaven and Kill the head Angel.”
