“Kagome?”

A swift glance around his new surroundings told him that she was nowhere to be found … nor were Miroku, Sango, and Shippou, not even the two-tailed … InuYasha continued to search about his new surroundings, never even picking up the scent of his friends, not even the faintest fragrance of his beloved Kagome. InuYasha began to take note of the rapidly approaching dusk; conveniently this happened to be the night of shingetsu; night of the new moon…

In a single swift motion, the hanyou boy caught wind of another not far away… the scent was faint and familiar all in the same inhale, though he couldn't exactly put his finger on what it was, and his silence was impending for some odd reason as well… something obviously had the boy thinking twice about his rash actions.

Time seemed to pass slower when the night of the new moon was nigh; the one night of the month that InuYasha was rendered powerless; damn what a timing! His sat there for the longest time it seemed, wondering what had separated him from the others, and nothing scared him more than knowing that his friends could very well be in danger…
