InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ ~* Danse Avec Les Rêves *~ ❯ The Way It Should Be ( Chapter 3 )
[ T - Teen: Not suitable for readers under 13 ]
How sad is it that I don't even have time to post already written chapters. It truly does suck people. I feel so bad for the people who actually liked this story because I have let them down, but I am trying hard!

Light flooded into her eyes, partially blinding her as she reached over groggily to turn off her offending
alarm.
Another day, another series of exhausting notes before she was able to return to dance lessons. The
only depressing thought about today was the fact that it was practically the start of the first semester.
Each semester she told herself that things were going to be different. She would make friends, fall in love,
do things normal college students might do. As she drug herself to the bathroom to take her shower, she looked in
the mirror only to turn away quickly, scared by her own appearance.
'Scaring away people is not on my list of things to do today, shower it is.'
As the water soothed her skin, she practiced her positions while cleansing her skin and hair. Feeling better
as always, she pushed the lever downward and turned the water off. It was going to be a good day she decided

A good day indeed.
So far everything that could have gone wrong decided to take the initiative and ruin her existence that
particular day. Starbucks was beyond passable as she wormed into the door only to be shoved right back out as
people were rushing to get to their designated workplaces or classes. Needless to say, she never got her vanilla
crème (god I love it, try it). As she tried to make her way along the sidewalk towards her first class, a sudden down
pour of rain caught her without any warning, soaking her before she could even try to make a run for the closest tree.
As she made her way into Fulton Hall to head towards her English class, she couldn't help but think about the
guy she had met last night. Curiosity, as always, lapped around her head when his brown eyes, she could have sworn for
a second that they flashed gold. Her brows scrunched in agitation as a thought entered her head.
'Mou, Kagome! Why are you thinking about that, that baka? He was so rude. He could have thanked you or
or something. Don't even think of taking those batteries to him, let him spend his money.'
Sighing, she continued to the stairs and trudged up towards her lecture room. Hopefully, the worst of her day
was over. No, highly unlikely, seeing as it was not even half over.
As she reached her class room, she skirted into the door and was about to keep going until she literaly ran into a
brick wall. Or what felt like a brick wall. The only difference between a REAL brick wall and this apparent wall, was that it was
donned in baggy, faded blue jeans and a leather jacket.
'Oh great, Kouga's here.' Sighing once again and blowing the damp, ebony tufts of hair out of her face she just screwed
a fake smile onto her face as she saw Kouga flash a toothy grin. 'I bet he's digging for a real good line right now.' Manuvering herself
away from the proverbial roadblock and targeted a seat in the back, near the windows.
"Oi, Kagome, I know you have the hots for me and all, but our relationship its strictly on stage, not off. HAHAHAHA!!"
And with that, he took the seat next to her and slapped the desk connected to it, thinking he was some sort of comedian.
Then, the God of all things meant to punish her came behind her and shoved her into the biggest mudpuddle.
Actaully, a certain silver-haired, brown-eyed guy came hesitantly throught the door. One worse than that, they both
seemed to make eye contact the moment he appeared in the doorway.
And then, he seemed to growl. A low, dangerous growl that seemed to be filling his throat as he looked to keep
it unnoticable. As his brown eyes flashed to hers again, everything seemed to disappear from the room as she stood alone
facing a wall of mirrors. The sun shown brightly trhough the large bay windows behind her. She looked at herself in the mirror
and lifted her arm gracefully from her side, watching as it rose up and down again to rest at her thigh.
Studying her appearance in the mirror, she quickly drew in a breath as she noticed that she was now wearing a black
leotard with light pink tights. Her hair pulled back tightly in a bun, she looked down to her feet to see pointe shoes with peach
satin ribbons laced around her ankles to hold them.
* No matter how hard you try, you will still never be able to actually make the company. Who ever gave you
that absurd idea has no true sense of dancing skill. You're body may be able to bend to your will, but you
can't bend and twist your heart. You will never be able to truly dance unless it's in your blood, unless it fuels
your every thought. Remember that, baka. *
(AN - When the word company is used in this context, it refers to a group of extremely talented dancers that dance for money and
fame. If you have ever heard of the New York City Ballet, basically, their company is called ABC, or American Ballet Company.
At least I'm pretty sure of that. If you know different, please tell me so I don't screw any of this up. Also pointe shoes are ballet shoes that are rather stiff around the foot. The point of the toes is about as hard a wood and most dancers use lamb wool to cushion their toes. )
Shaking herself from the state of day dream, she noticed that Inuyasha's gaze had slipped from her to the spot occupied
next to her.
Kouga.
She could almost feel the electricity flowing from both their gazes as the held a staring contest. It was over briefly,
however, as Inuyasha walked towards her seat.

" Gooooood MORNING Boston! It's a rainy day in Bean Town with a temperature o-"
'God', Inuyasha thought as he removed his hand from the snooze button on the clock. Not a morning person in the
least, he pushed his upper body off the bed and up to lean on his elbows as he arched his neck to gaze out the window.
It really was raining in 'Bean Town'. Who the hell nicknames a town after BEANS?
After rooting through some unpacked boxes for some clothes and what not, he made his way to the small bathroom.
'New day, new place, new life. Better be good, Sesshoumaru, real good for you to ship me off to this Hell.'

'Fulton Hall, Fulton Hall..... where are you? Piece of crap building! First rain, now I'm los-' Just before he could finish
his thought, he looked straight ahead, instead of to the sides that he had been searching, and low and behold, the words carved
into stone read 'FULTON HALL'. 'Bingo'.
Now searching for room 213, he used common sense to figure out that it was hopefully on the second floor.
Literally pulling himself up the stairs by the railing. He still had books that needed to be picked up at the bookstore but
he was lucky enough that he thought of preordering them over the summer. If he only knew who was going to be in his class, he
would have probably switched the moment he found out.
As he walked hesitantly through the door, he paused, looking around to get a feel for his new surroundings.
There, sitting in the back near the windows holding his own gaze was the girl from last night. Kagome Higurashi.
Her wide brown eyes revealed that she was just as surprised as Inuyasha was when he appeared in the doorway.
However, that wasn't the reason that she froze. She had sworn, once again, that his eyes had shifted gold for a second.
He felt the blood boiling in his veins as his gaze slipped from the dazed girl to the asshole next to her.
Kouga. And he seemed to notice Inuyasha as well as they glared each other down while he strode over to
where Kagome was sitting and took the desk on her right. Shoving himself down into the seat, he jerked the zipper of
his bag open and tore his books out.
'What the FUCK is he doing here?'

Kagome made her way over to the bar and hefted her leg up to stretch. Swiveling her hips so that they were diagonal to
the metal of the bar, she slowly went over her positions and waited for Kouga to enter. Her mind was racing with questions from
the day's events.
Did Kouga know Inuyasha? He had to have or else they wouldn't have reacted in such a manner. Right?
As she was finishing up on the other leg, Kouga waltzed in, bringing a dampering mood along with him. His eyes were
deep set and wandering as though he were fighting a battle within. Kagome noticed this and quickly elevated her leg to lift it off the bar and approach him. Even though she had never seen his eyes so frightening as they were now, she knew never to truly fear his
temper.
She looked over at him for a while, waiting for him to finish up his own stretch technique. He really was an amazing dancer
and it always made her smile whenever he would preform. He was always putting his emotion into every step, ever turn and kick.
She wished with all of her heart that she could express her emotions the way he did.
Watching his muscles pull against the material of his shirt, she realized how handsome he was. She never felt attracted to
him, even though when they partnered, some of the rhythym suggested racy and intimate portrails.
"Staring problem, Higurashi?" His gruff voice broke her from another midday reverie. "Kouga-kun, hi." Adding an extra sweet smile to drip around her delicate voice.
As he pulled his arms behind his back, he shifted his blue eyes to her own. "I know what you want to ask me. I don't
really want to talk about it." With that said, Kaede walked in and class began.
"Alright, Kagome-chan, do you think you are ready today?" Her mocking voice always struck a chord in her, telling her
to finally show the old bat that she was here for a reason. That she had earned her place. Nodding to the old woman, she
walked towards the center to Kouga and waited for the music to envelope her body. Nothing was going to hold her back today.
Hopefully.

As the volume began to hit a maximum, she chenned her way around the unmoving boy. As the beats hit harder, she
spun out and did a split jump, landing and backflipping.
All seemed to go well as they ended their routine to an ovation from the other students who were worked up from
the informal showing.
Kaede clapped twice, signaling fro everyone to get into positions as another track came on. Everyone jumped to
attention as the music began and so did their next set of moves and steps. It was so loud, but the adrenaline was pumping
through Kagome as she executed every move perfectly. Today was her day, she wasn't going to let the earlier events hold
her down.
Pushing them to the back of her mind, she kicked her leg up at Kouga and let the music control her movements. The way it was supposed to be.
