For twenty years, there at home, until the day her girl was grown

Kagome was 20 years old now and had been going to the feudal era for 5 years. Naraku was destroyed and Inuyasha and Kagome had finally admitted their feelings for each other. Mrs. Higurashi recalled the day they announced their engagement.

 

“Mom, Grandpa, Souta, Inuyasha has an announcement to make,” Kagome said nudging Inuyasha.

 

“Keh!” Inuyasha blushed. “Why can't you tell `em wench?”

 

“Because I already told everyone at Kaede's. It's your turn now!”

 

“Fine, whatever.” He sighed.

 

“What is it? Mrs. Higurashi asked. “Is something wrong?”

 

“No. It's just that… that… well… Kagome and I… we're going to be married.”

 

Mrs. Higurashi let out a very teenager-like squeal. Inuyasha winced and flattened his ears. He just knew this was going to happen… “Now would come the million questions about when and where…” he thought. But to his surprise and extreme embarrassment the first question out of her mouth was:

 

“Will my grandchildren have those cute little fuzzy dog-ears like yours, Inuyasha?”

 

Inuyasha stared dumfounded at Mrs. Higurashi as his face began to turn as red as his Fire-rat robe.

 

“Mooooommm!!” Kagome yelled, mortified.
