Chap 17: The Trouble Begins

 

 

 

Inuyasha and Kagome were sitting on a rock just big enough for the two of them watching the sunset…still waiting for Kayasha.

“Kagome…” Inuyasha said deep in thought.

“Yes honey?” she said as she laid her head on his shoulder.

“It took me a while to realize how much Miroko cared for Inume I mean, he loved her…he risked his life to protect her. He could have died. He wants to protect San too. He had promised Inume he would help take care of San and he kept his promise. And I respect that.”

 

Kagome just kissed him on the forehead. “I know you miss her, and I do too. I swear I will find a way to get her back.” Kagome promised sympathetically.

“Thanks koi.” Inuyasha replied.

Kagome just headed inside.

 

Inuyasha was just about to follow when he saw a silhouette of his son. As Kayasha approached Inuyasha became worried he sensed Kayasha had been somewhere he shouldn't have been.

 

 

Kayasha was now a few feet away. “Where were you?” Inuyasha asked as calm as possible.

“I was out hunting”

“Oh! Kayasha don't feed me that bull shit! For Kami's sake do you think I am that stupid!?” Inuyasha was insulted.

“No.”

“Than why would you give me that lie?”

“Because it was believable enough.”

“Bull shit! It wasn't even close to the truth! How dare you insult my intelligence! First of you're don't even have the scent of dead animal secondly you aren't even equipped for such activity.

 

 

“Whatever! I'm going to bed. I have things to do in the morning.”

“No way! You will tell me the truth about where you were young man!” Inuyasha was so frustrated.

“No! You will stop treating me as if I were just a PUP!!!” Kayasha was just as pissed.

“You are a pup!” Inuyasha growled angrily.

“No I'm not! You would notice that if you paid more attention to me!”

“You want attention Kayasha! Is that what you want!? Well here it is! Tell me where you were!”

“I was at the hot springs.”

“All day?” Inuyasha asked not buying it.

“No not all day, I was there and then I went to see Kayai.”

“Oh.” Inuyasha just decided to let it go.

They both headed inside Kayasha rubbed his neck tiredly.

 

 

The next morning San woke up and decided she wanted to go for a walk. She climbed out of bed and headed for the door when she went to open it, Miroko woke up.

“Hey, where do you think you are going miss?” he asked her in a gentle tone.

“I wanna go for a walk.” She said.

“You do huh?”

“Yes.”

“Alright I will get dressed and then we can go for a walk together.” He promised.

San had already taken it upon herself to dress. She was wearing a light blue Kimono that Kagome had made her.

 

Miroko was done dressing and he lifted San up and set her on his shoulders as she giggled. He carried her out of the hut and he brought them to the old tree that he and Inume used to hang out in. He took San off his shoulders and put her on the near by the large rock that was near some bushes. Kayome and another wolf demon walked out from behind them. San hid behind Miroko. She knew this meant trouble, for he was the demon who hurt her mommy and made her go away…forever.

 

“Well, well, well. If it isn't my mates little friend.” Kayome said slyly.

“Don't you ever talk about Inume that way! I know a lot about demon mating rituals and it doesn't say anywhere that if the mark is put there by force that the demon is yours to claim! And since when do demons kill their `mates' anyway!?” Miroko yelled furiously.

 

“That is the penalty for not obeying my wishes. Besides it was an accident. All I wanted was a happy family, but you had to go and ruin that for me.” Kayome with a fake pout on mocking the monk.

“Get out of here!” Miroko was pissed beyond belief.

“Okay, okay. I will leave, but only after I get what I came for.” He gestured to the other male wolf demon and he grabbed San and handed her to Kayome. San screamed.

“Thanks.” Kayome said and sped off.

 

“San!!! Miroko cried as he ran after them as fast as he could, but it was no use he was not fast enough to catch them. Miroko fell to his knees and watched them vanish into the distance. “NO!!” he cried out.

 

 

Miroko ran back to the village as fast as his tired legs could carry him.

“Uncle Inuyasha! Aunt Kagome! He took San! Kayome took San!” he yelled as he ran closer to the hut.

“Keep it down boy! Some people are trying to sleep!”

“Yeah what's all the noise about?” some villagers were pretty angry, since it was around 6:00 in the morning. But Miroko did not care, he was too concerned about his daughter, the only thing in the world that was apart of Inume and that meant as much to him as she did.

 

Inuyasha heard those words and immediately tan out of the hut.

“What the hell are you talking about Miroko!?”

“He took San!”

“No way! FIRST HE TAKES MY DAUGHTER'S LIFE AND NOW HE TAKES SAN AWAY FROM ME! NO! I WILL NOT ALLOW IT!!!”

Kagome ran out of the hut. “He took San! He will not go unpunished for this! He will suffer!” she said darkly and her eyes went pure black.

“Okay, I knew she was a witch, but that is just creepy.” Miroko said.

“Go get Rin.” Kagome demanded.

“Yes aunt, right away.”

He went to Rin's hut.

`Now where could she be…' he thought.

Kayasha walked up behind him. “She's gone to that damn castle again.” He said bitterly.

Miroko jumped at the sneak attack. “Why do you have to always sneak up on me like that?”

“Maybe it is because I don't like you. Besides I am curious as to why you have the dying urge to see Rin.” He spoke coldly toward the monk.

“Okay, first of all you don't like anybody, so cut the crap. Secondly your mother needs Rin for a powerful locating spell, to find the wolf demons.

“Why do we need to find the wolves?” Kayasha asked clueless.

“They took San!” Miroko couldn't believe how daft Kayasha was.

“And you let them!?”

“No…she is my daughter! Why would I let them take her!?” Miroko yelled.

“San is not your daughter, she is my sister's daughter!” Kayasha yelled at the monk.

 

 

Miroko spoke softly. “You know Kayasha, you are not the only one who cares about San or Inume. Just to let you know, I loved her! And I love San and I won't let anything happen to her!”

“Right…and that's why you let them take her! You're too weak! Let father and I take care of her she needs strong demons to take care of her and protect her, not a weak human.” with that said Kayasha sped off.

 

Miroko just sat there. Maybe Kayasha is right…maybe he is not cut out to be San's father he does not have the strength that Kayasha and Inuyasha have. They are fit to take care and protect San.
