Chapter 16: "What about me?"

Kagome walked through the halls of her school with shifty eyes. She was looking out for anyone in particular that she didn't want to talk too. She got to her locker and grab her books without incident. Kagome went through her first class with a breeze. She sat in her AP Calculus class and stared out the window before it even started. She continued staring while everyone was filing in.

"Well class welcome to another bright Monday morning. Today we have some new students joining us."

Kagome continued staring out the window not even acknowledging them. She couldn't take her mind off the events that happened to her. Was it really true what Inu Yasha had shown her? And what was that dark presence that always overwhelmed her at the end? It just felt like her soul was being sucked out of her each time it came around. She just couldn't comprehend what was going on. Why was she going through this?

"Would you two please tell the class about yourselves?"

"Well my name is Kagura Tamahome. I am originally from Tokyo and I am especially skilled in watercolor art."

The teacher smiled, "That's good and what about you?"

"My name is Kanaru Tamahome. Kagura is my sister and I was attending the Eitoku Academy but decided to transfer here."

Kagome felt a cold chill run up her spine and then she slowly turned her head towards the two. `Surely this wouldn't be happening to me… Right?' She raised her eyes to one of the men that were plaguing her dreams… and screamed.

"Miss Kagome what's wrong?" The teacher had Kagome by the shoulders and was shaking her slightly but she wouldn't stop screaming. She closed her eyes shut and felt arms surrounding her.

"Please take her to the nurses office and find out what's wrong."

Kagome felt herself lifted into the arms and being carried out the room. She nestled into the arms and stopped screaming but started to cry slightly.

The girl walked up the steps of the school and walked to the main office of the school. The secretary looked up as the pretty girl walked into the office and smiled, "Can I help you Miss?"

"Yes… How do I go about joining this school?"

The secretary's smile broadened, "Wow there has been a lot of new students joining in this past week. Well I can pull up the paper work and we can get started with the process of having you join our school."

The girl smiled, "That would be wonderful."

Sango walked around the outside of the cafeteria with Miroku beside her. "Where the hell is Kagome. It's urgent that we talk to her and get her to understand what the hell is going on!"

"I thought I had got a glimpse of her beside her locker earlier today but by the time I got there it was too late. I think she is trying to avoid everyone."

Sango sighed and then walked into the cafeteria, "Maybe she will meet us in lunch. I could be getting paranoid." She stopped in her tracks when she saw Inu Yasha and Sesshomaru sitting at the lunch table in the same exact spots that they had been sitting at just a few days ago.

Inu Yasha spotted her and got up from the table, "Do you know where Kagome is?"

Sango narrowed her eyes and said, "That was what I was just about to ask you."

"What do you mean you don't know where she is? She left my house early this morning before I woke up and I couldn't find her…" Inu Yasha's eyes widened when he realized what he just said.

"So that is where so has been this weekend. That explains a lot of things." Miroku said shrugging his shoulders.

Sango glared at him then turned and looked at Inu Yasha, "Why are you rushing everything?! Give her some time to cope with the idea of you coming back into her life. For a whole year she doesn't remember anything of the past. But is seems like you want to rush things. Slow down a bit."

"Wait your guys remember everything?!"

Sesshomaru turned around and said, "Shippo and Rin took care of our little problem with these too. Basically it's up to you to help her remember."

"What about Kouga?" Miroku said.

"What about me?"

They all turned to see Kouga standing next to Miroku with Hojo right behind him. Miroku did a slight laugh and said, "Well I heard Inu Yasha and Sesshomaru were having a party and I was asking them if you was invited."

Everyone looked at Miroku with narrowed eyes but Kouga said, "Like I would go to some party that dog turd was having."

Miroku smiled and said, "Oh I just figured you would go because Kagome was going. Oh well…"

"WHAT! Like I would leave Kagome at a party with dog turd. I am there!" Kouga yelled pulling out a chair at the lunch table.

Inu Yasha walked up close to Miroku and gripped his arm stopping he blood circulation in his arm and whispered, "What fucking party am I having?"

Miroku gave him a quivering smile and said, "Well I had to give him a good story or I could of just pointed at you and said that you would explain."

"It would have been better. It least I could've explained with my fist instead of with some retarded ass party."

"Well think of it as another opportunity for you and Lady Kagome to get together."

Inu Yasha's eyes lit up and then he said, "You better get Kagome to come to this party then."

Miroku swallowed and said, "Alright I will."

Inu Yasha let go of him and walked back to the table. Sango turned to look at Miroku with narrowed eyes and said, "I hope you do too." Before turning and taking her seat at the table.

Miroku laughed nervously as he tried to rack his brain on how to get Kagome to get to this party. "I guess this will be a little harder then I thought."

Kagome covered her eyes at the blinding light that was hitting her eyelids.

She blinking rapidly and then focused her eyes. She was in the nurse office bed with the blinds pulled around her. She looked to her left and widened her eyes as she saw Kanaru staring at her. She opened her mouth to yell but it was instantly cover by his hand he leaned in and said, "I've missed you to, Love." Kagome shivered at the touch of his hand.
