Chapter 1: School's Out!
"Kagome, c'mon! We're gonna be late!"
Kagome whirled around to face her friend, Sango. She and Sango had been best friends since they were practically babies. They had a lot in common, both in the twelfth grade, long flowing hair, and big, brown, shining eyes.
"I'm coming Sango! Just wait a minute!" Kagome turned to face the brown-haired boy in front of her.
"I'm sorry, Hojo. I'm just not interested. I heard that `Mai' girl likes you. Maybe you could ask her out instead."
Hojo shook his head.
"Kagome, I don't like Mai, I like you. Please just give-"
BRINGGG!
Hojo was cut off by the school's warning bell.
"Aw man! Kagome, let's go! A few more hours and you can flirt with all the guys you want for two weeks!" Sango called, while grabbing Kagome's arm.
"Sango, I was not flirting with him! I was telling him yet again that I don't like him! Hojo's so annoying. He keeps-"
"Yeah, yeah, c'mon!" Sango waved dismissively over her shoulder.
The two girls stumbled toward their first class of the day, silently anticipating the day's end.
☺☺☺Last Class-History☺☺☺
"Okay! As you all know, today is the last day of school before Spring Break."
Cheers broke out across the classroom.
"I hope you have your reports because they're due today."
Groans replaced the cheers almost immediately. History class was a pretty much laid back class. Homework was rarely given out due to the fact the teacher, Mr. Sagawaki, was such a nice person. But when he did give out homework, you were expected to have it on time.
Kagome glanced at the clock anxiously. Only 15 more minutes until we get out of this torture chamber. I can't wait! Sango and I are gonna have so much fun on this trip! Kagome thought.
"Alright class well done! Since we have…" Mr. Sagawaki glanced at the clock, "10 minutes left, you may talk amongst yourselves, just don't be too loud."
Sango moved over to where Kagome sat.
"So, Kagome, do you want to pack when we get to your house or later tonight at mine? Personally, I think it's better if we pack when we get to your house, that way, we'll have all night to mess around and do whatever we want."
Kagome gave Sango a dry look.
"Gee Sango, I believe the question you asked was directed at me, not at yourself!" Kagome said.
Sango shrugged.
"Well, then again, I think your idea is the right one to go with anyway. Oh my god, I cannot wait till we get to America! Do you think it'll be any different from Japan?" Kagome asked excitedly.
"Uh, lemme think. Let's see, um, yeah! Duh! Of course America's gonna be different!" Sango snickered at her friend's stupidity.
Kagome was about to reply with a comment of her own when the savior, in the form of a little black contraption, rang, signaling the end of the day.
BBBRRRIIINNNGGG!!!

"Yes! Thank God! We'd better get going. We have a lot to pack!" Kagome shouted to Sango over the roar of cheers coming from other students.
"Yeah make sure you get everything you need and then meet me at my house. We're going to bed early tonight, too, because we have a long day ahead of us."
Kagome nodded.
"Hey, Sango, do you have an exact location of where we'll be in America?"
Sango quickened her pace toward her car. Kagome took this as a `no'.
"Sango! You were supposed to determine where we are going! That was your job!" Kagome yelped.
The older girl blushed in shame.
"Yeah, I know, but-see, I um… oh look! Here's the car! C'mon Kagome!" Sango stuttered.
Kagome shook her head and gave Sango a `this isn't over yet' look.
The two girls hopped in Sango car and headed for Kagome's house.

"Mom, I'm home!" Kagome shouted.
A muffled "In here!" sounded from the kitchen.
Kagome and Sango chatted while walking to the kitchen. Upon stepping into the kitchen the chatter immediately stopped at the sight of Mrs. Higurashi.
Kagome's mom was waist deep in bags of candy, boxes of soda, and lots of other junk food.
"Mrs. Higurashi! What happened?!" Sango choked out while scrambling to help Mrs. Higurashi.
"Well, I went to the store, because I know that you two are going on that trip tomorrow, and I went to put up some of these cookies, and I lost my balance." Mrs. Higurashi explained.
"Mom, you should have just left all this stuff out! Sango and I are packing tonight. And why didn't Sota help you?" Kagome asked while moving a bag of Skittles out of the way.
"Yeah Mrs. Higurashi, you could've gotten hurt." Sango added.
"Nonesense, I'm fine! Kagome, are you spending the night at Sango's?"
Kagome and Sango nodded.
"Yep! We still have to plan where we're going because someone didn't do her job!" Kagome shot Sango a displeasing look. Sango looked sheepish.
"Well, I can recommend something. You should try the Bahamas. Kagome's father took me there for our honeymoon." Mrs. Higurashi sighed romantically. "It was beautiful! And the food was superb! And the boys were so-"
"Mom! You were checking out the boys?! You were married!" Kagome sputtered.
Mrs Higurashi chuckled.
"I know, but that didn't mean I couldn't look, now did it?"
The three women chuckled.
Sota and Grandpa came in arguing about something or the other.
"Grandpa, you lost! I won, end of story!" Sota yelled.
"Ah, grandson, I believe it was the other way around! I won and you lost, get over it!"
Sota rolled his eyes in annoyance. His eyes lit up when he saw his sister and Sango.
"Kagome! Sango! When are you leaving?"
Kagome rolled her eyes.
"Nice to see you too, Sota." She replied.
Sango giggled.
"Hey Sota! We're leaving tomorrow at 5:00 a.m. We're going to the Bahamas-" Sango glanced at Mrs. Higurashi and winked, "to ogle the boys!"
Mrs. Higurashi burst out in a fit of giggles, while Sota looked on confused.
