Chapter 2-Love

Near the village

"Inuyasha!" a voice called through the clear morning air. A girl walked along a path from the village, she had black hair and wore school uniform, her name was Kagome Higurashi.

"Inuyasha!" she called again as she approached a tree. She was about to call out again when she finally caught sight of who she was looking for. Kagome saw Inuyasha asleep in the tree, his arm hanging over the branch that he laid on. Once and while Kagome saw that Inuyasha's dog-like ears did alittle twitch. Kagome laughed and that was when Inuyasha awoke.

"What?" Inuyasha asked as he sat up and strecthed with a big yawn. Then he looked down and spoted Kagome.

"Hey!" he called down. Then with one last twitch of his ears he jumped down and landed right in front of Kagome.

"What took you so long?" Kagome asked, "we've been waiting for you forever!"

"Uh? What are talking about Kagome?" Inuyasha replied still half asleep. He yawned again.

Before Kagome could answer, a voice came from Inuyasha's shoulder, "good morning Master Inuyasha"

Both Kagome and Inuyasha looked and saw the flea named Myoga.

"Morning" Kagome said cheerfully looking at Inuyasha's shoulder where Myoga was standing.

Myoga jumped off Inuyasha's shoulder and then landed on Kagome's. He looked alittle anxious.

"What are you doing here?" Inuyasha asked putting an emphasis on you.

"Does it really matter Lord Inuyasha?" Myoga said nervously," I just came by to say hi, thats all"

Myoga looked at Inuyasha triing not to blink. He did.

"Ah Ha!" Inuyasha said with a evil look on his face "so Myoga, why are you here?"

Myoga just shook his head and hopped off of Kagome's shoulder as if he had just spotted a demon.

"Hey!" called Inuyasha, watching the little flea jump from rock to rock. Inuyasha just shook his head as if he

pitied the flea because it was so stupid, "whatever."

"That was stange" a voice said from behind Kagome. It was Sango followed by Miroku with Shippo on his

shoulder, "wonder what that was about"

"Who cares" Inuyasha replied with attitude and crossing his arms.

"Hey" Kagome said turing to Sango with a smile on her face, "are you ready to go?"

Inuyasha was confused, "go where?"

"What? You don't remember Inuyasha, where leaving the village today in hopes of crossing paths with

Naraku." Miroku explained looking at Inuyasha with a srange look on his face.

Inuyasha shook his head again, but this time it was if he was shaking off bugs from his hair. He said, "Oh, right

i'm still half asleep, I had the wierdest dream last night..." he looked out into space as he tried to recall

what the dream was about.

"Um..are we going or not?" asked the Kitsune Shippo, he had a serious look on his face, "if we don't find

Naraku soon, he may find more jewel shards!"

"Shippo's right, lets go" Sango said hitching her giant boomerang onto her back. She started to walk toward the

forest, closely followed by Miroku who said, "and besides, I think I sense an ominous black cloud"

Shippo just shook his head and then jumped onto his favorite spot, Kagomes shoulder.

Kagome just nodded and followed Sango and Miroku, with Inuyasha behind her still looking out into

space.

Finally they left village and were on there way. They walked along the path in silence. The only thing they heard was

the squeaking of Kagome's bike as she pushed alongside her. After an hour since they left the village they heard

something in the trees. Inuyasha's ears perked up, and he sniffed the air.

'That scent seems familiar' Inuyasha thought with curousity. He looked around, the sound they had heard was

now gone.

"Ow!" Kagome cried out suddenly falling to the ground. She looked at her foot.

"Kagome! Whats wrong?" asked Shippo from the basket off Kagome's bike, looking down at her with concern.

"I think I stepped on somethng" She replied taking off her shoe and sock on her right foot. She looked down and saw a deep

gash at the bottom of her foot. Inuyasha leaned in taking a look at Kagome's foot.

"You need to wash that" Sango said also looking at Kaogme's foot, " theres a lake that isn't far from here, you should

go there"

"Okay" Kagome replied triing to get up, but winced and fell back down again. Inuyasha leaned down by Kagome

and said, "get on my back, I'll take you"

Kagome did, with the help of Sango and Miroku when.....SLAP! "Miroku!" Kagome yelled as Miroku withdrew

his hand from Kagome. Finally Kagome and Inuyasha were on there way to lake. It took about 5 minutes, which they

walked in silence, Kagome on Inuyasha's back piggie-back style. When they made it to the lake, Inuyasha let down

Kagome gently. Kagome sat down and quickly put her foot down in the water. Inuyasha sat by her, watching the blood from Kagome's

foot slowly dissolve into the water.

"Thats better." Kagome said, tilting her head back toward the sky, closing her eyes.

Inuyasha watched her then had a sudden thought, 'kiss Kagome' Inuyasha shook his head, then asked himself, 'why?'

'because you love her' came the answer. Inuyasha thought that was good enough for him and he leaned in and kissed

Kagome gently on the lips. After a few seconds, they drew back. Kagome was shocked and pleased at the same time.

Before either could say a word, Myoga came and jumped on Inuyasha's shoulder saying loudly, "Kikyo is nearby!"

Inuyasha gasped, and thought 'Kikyo'
