Chapter 7
Kagome woke up to strong arms surrounding her curvy figure. In addition, her head was in somebody's lap. She bolted up despite the pain, only to feel the tightening at her waist.
“Please, lay back down.” His tone was soft and welcoming; with a small groan, she rested her head in his chest, and embraced the warmth of his security.
“I'm sorry Inuyasha,” she whispered in his chest, while tears started forming in her eyes.
“It is I who should be sorry love, I was not there to protect you. Instead I let my jealousy get in the way,” he answered softly in her ear, while stroking her soft hair. “Kagome, when your injuries are healed, you will no longer be my prisoner. I release you,” he proclaimed, while he stopped stroking her hair, only to bring a claw under her chin looking into the depths of her soul.
“So you're not going to sell me.”
“No I will not sell you, I was never really planning to. Although my little vixen you sure did tempt me,” he chuckled, while feeling a small punch in his chest.
“What will happen with the deal you made with Captain Naraku?” She asked with concern in her eyes.
“My love, I didn't think that you cared,” he whispered in her ear sending shock waves down her entire body.
“I don't…” She did not even have a chance to finish her sentence, when a pair of lips came crashing down on hers. Again, she felt herself giving into him, returning the kiss with heated passion.
With a growl of approval from Inuyasha, he stopped the kiss. “I will ask you again my love, do you love him?”
Her eyes where glazed over with lust and passion. She pondered the question, “No Inuyasha, I don't love him.”
Koga finally woke up to see the couple in each other's arms. He nodded in approval, and with a quick stretch, he went back downstairs. He would come back later to see if she was feeling any better. Koga sat down at one of the tables, he ordered some breakfast and sulked that the woman he fell in love with actually fell in love with dog-boy.
His thoughts where shaken when a tall man with blond hair approached. “Captain, we have word.”
Koga could smell the fear radiating off this young man. Rumor had it that Koga did not like to be disturbed at breakfast. He actually killed someone for asking the wrong question. Today would be no different. “Spit it out, I do not like my breakfast getting cold and I am not in the mood for any games,” Koga barked.
“Sir, we have found General Higurashi.”
“What! Where is that son of a bitch?” Koga snapped while pounding his fist into the round table, spilling a portion of his meal.
“Sir, he is in New Guinea, the city of Papua.”
Koga got out of his chair and threw a gold coin to the messenger. He decided to retreat back upstairs, to inform his friend of the news.
Sango walked back into her bedroom with a silver tray full of food. She set the tray on top of the table by her bed. “How is she doing?” She asked with concern.
“She seems to be ok, but the bruising is still visible.”
Sango noticed that the cut in her upper lip had completely healed. “ How could this be?” She acknowledged with confusion in her eyes.
“My saliva has the ability to heal open wounds, I guess this is because I'm half dog demon,” Inuyasha stated with prow.
“Inuyasha did you happen to lick the back of her head also?” She asked, and he nodded in response. She began to remove the bandage that wrapped around Kagome's head. She gasped when she saw the wound; the only trace of the gash was now a small scar that was barely visible through Kagome's thick tresses.
Sango was making her way out of the room when she ran in to a frantic Koga. “Excuse me, Sir,” she smiled an apologetic smile, before making her way down the stairs.
“Inuyasha I'm sorry to bother you under these circumstances, but I really must talk to you.”
Naraku arrived at the port of Kadavu. Him and his men walked up to a stoic man, looking at him with an evil grin. “Well if it isn't Captain Maiku Naraku, how nice to see you again, would you be interested in buying a slave?”
Naraku looked to see a group of chained women. He went over to examine the young women, but to his dismay, he did not find the raven-haired beauty. His eyes glazed over with malice. “She isn't here,” clenching his fists together, drawing blood from his palms. Naraku grabbed a black pouch and pulled out ten gold coins. He went back over to the merchant, while holding out the pieces of gold. “When you see a man with long white hair, inform me immediately.” The slave merchant reached his hand out to except the gold from the pirate captain. Nevertheless, and to no avail he would not receive his reward until the deed was finally finished. Naraku walked away with a malicious smile, thought on how he would ravage the girl and kill Inuyasha.
Inuyasha moved the sleeping beauty from his chest and walked out of the room with Koga, careful not to disturb her slumber. Kagome sighed when the feeling of warmth left her body. Slowly her eyes opened to see she was alone, until she heard voices outside of the bedroom. Being inquisitive by nature, she could not help but to make her way towards the door. However, Inuyasha and Koga were not aware of the girl lingering by the door.
“What is it Koga, why did you disturb me?” Inuyasha articulated with a tone of agitation.
“I wish to inform you that we now know the whereabouts of General Higurashi,” Koga stated.
Inuyasha growled, his anger arose inside of him all he wanted to do for years was kill this man. “Finally I will finish what I started thirty years ago, and I will kill him this time.”
Kagome could not believe what she was hearing. “He's going to kill my father! But why?” Deciding she heard enough she went back on the bed and started crying into the pillow. “I can't let that happen.” She thought.
