Chapter 8
Inuyasha and Koga went downstairs to discuss what their plan of action would be. He couldn't help but remember his hard times when he was at the plantation, his thoughts drowning out any other voices he could hear in the bar. “That bastard!” He growled.
“Mommy, mommy, please help me,” Inuyasha cried, while two men where holding him back. He watched many men surrounding their home.
“ Inuyasha!” She cried.
He could see a tall man with long black hair approaching his mother, only to slap her across the face. “ Shut up you bitch.” He shouted. “Take the boy back to my ship and chain him up with the other slaves.” He commanded. Inuyasha tried to fight back; he scratched, kicked, and bit the soldiers. To no avail, he could not escape. He felt something hit the back of his head, and then he only saw darkness.
“Hey, friend what is ailing you?” Koga inquired.
Inuyasha felt suddenly snapped from his memories. “Koga, do you remember what that vile filth did to my mother? He raped her then killed her, took me back to the America's and kept me as his slave. I was whipped every night along with many others,” he continued before Koga could say anything, “ I planned revenge every night to escape and kill Onigumo Higurashi. I had my chance to do so, but only left him with a scar and escaped with my life. I was younger then and I could not beat him. I want so bad to go back and kill him and his family, then burn down that damnation of a house!” Inuyasha growled.
“Inuyasha what are we going to do?” Koga asked, worrying about his friend.
“Where is he?”
“My messenger said he was in New Guinea,” replied Koga.
“First we take care of Naraku, he will be waiting for us in Kadavu, he will probably try and kill me. After I kill him, I will leave Kagome in the care of Kaede. Then we can head towards that bastard and finish him off once and for all,” he remarked with an evil grin, saying his goodbyes he stood and retreated back upstairs to see Kagome.
Kagome's eyes were still very swollen, from the constant tears falling from her eyes. She wanted to escape and run away from the man who was about to butcher her father. “What I'm I going to do now? How do I stop a pirate?” She was so deep in thought she did not even hear Inuyasha entering the room. She started feeling someone rubbing her back and then heard his voice.
Inuyasha was halfway up the stairs, when he smelt her tears. He ran the rest of the way and made it into the bedroom. He could see her head in the pillow and was crying hysterically. He went by the bed, and started rubbing her back. “Kagome what's wrong, Love?” He asked with concern in his voice.
Kagome stopped crying and started to sit up. She looked into his eyes with pure hatred. “You fucking bastard!” She snapped while bringing up her hand and slapping him hard against his face.
Inuyasha was stunned, “Why… What did I do to you to make you so angry?”
Koga went in search for the messenger. He sniffed the air and following his scent until he found him, “Hey messenger, come over here, I have a job for you.”
The young man nodded his head in agreement and cautiously went over to the wolf demon, “What is it that you ask of me, Sir?”
Koga could smell the fear lace his body, “Don't fear me I won't hurt you, I have a job for you and it needs to be done as soon as possible.”
The blond hair man looked stunned, “And what are your orders?” He replied.
“My orders are for you to go to my ship tell another wolf demon by the name of Ginta that there will be a meeting at the La Quinta Inn at sundown and to bring me a map.”
The young man turned to walk away but Koga suddenly stopped him, “What is your name?”
“My name is Hojo Akitoki.”
However, Koga was reluctant to let him go just yet. Staring at the young man before him, he asked, “Hojo, that sounds like a Japanese name, am I right?”
He did not like where this conversation was going. “Yes sir, you are correct.”
“Where in Japan do you live?” Koga asked continuing his little interrogation.
He stuttered, “My family and I live in Yokohama, sir.”
“Good now I know where to go and kill your family if you decide to deceit me!” Koga threatened, “When you finish your task, find me at the Inn and I shall pay you well.”
With that last statement, the man ran as fast as he could, to deliver the message.
Miroku was sitting at a table drinking some fine rum, Sango saw him and decided to sneak up on him. “Gottcha!” She laughed. Before she knew, what was happening, Miroku had grabbed her arm, throwing her on his lap.
“Hello, my love,” he seductively said, then brushed his lips into hers, kissing her passionately. She threw her arms over his neck deepening the kiss. Breaking away, he looked into her heated eyes, “How is Kagome doing?”
“She is much better, her gash on the back of her head is gone, and so is the cut on her lip. The bruising on her face is her only scar, but in time that too will heal,” she assured; with a relieved look on his face, he went in to kiss her again but was suddenly distracted when they both heard a crashing noise upstairs. They both stood up and headed towards the stairs to investigate.
Kagome was stunned. “What do you mean what did you do?” She screamed, “You have a lot of nerve to ask that you fucking bastard!” She stood up and started heading for the door.
Before she made her escape, she felt a grip on her arm trying to stop her. He growled at her, “Your not leaving until you tell me what I did wrong!”
“Get your filthy hands off me, you bastard! How dare you touch me? Remember Sir I'm free and I plan to get the hell away from you as fast as I can!” She snapped, while yanking her arm from his grasp.
“Please Kagome tell me what I did wrong.”
She screamed, while looking around for something to throw, “Get out!”
“No! Not till you tell me what's wrong!”
She could not take it anymore and found a vase throwing it with great force she aimed at his head. He ducked quickly before it struck him. He smiled as it hit the wall behind him, shattering the porcelain vase. “Get out!” She continued looking around for another object to throw, hoping to hit her target this time. “Stop moving, so I can hit you!” She maliciously said. Before she could grab her next possession, she felt a hand on her arm to stop her assault. She turned around to see Miroku and a very upset Sango.
Sango surveyed her room and saw all the broken glass on the floor. She yelled at the both of them, “What the hell are you two doing to my room?”
Kagome felt a guilty; she did break a couple of nice vases. “Sango I'm truly sorry that your possessions were broken. I would be happy to replace anything that you have lost. But I'm not sorry for trying to hit that ass over there.” She said pointing a finger at Inuyasha.
Koga made his way back to the Inn only to hear yelling and glass being broken upstairs. “If that mutt did anything to my Kagome, I'm so going to rip him to shreds,” growling he headed up stairs.
Sango looked at Kagome. “Thank you, but why did you start throwing my items at Inuyasha?”
Just when she was about to answer, Koga ran into the room almost knocking the three to the floor. “Kagome are you ok? Did Mutt-face over there hurt you?” He asked, slightly concerned. Her eyes, however, were cold and emotionless. Then he felt her wrath slap him on the side of his cheek.
Her voice went from yelling to literately screaming at him, “And as for you, Koga, you egotistical son of a bitch. How dare you?”
Miroku thought he had heard enough and tried to resolve the issue peacefully, “Kagome, why are you so upset? Maybe if you tell us, we can resolve this.”
Kagome felt cornered with nowhere to run. They would not let her leave until she gave them the answers everyone seemed so patently waiting to receive “What do I say? Do I tell them that the man they are planning to kill is my father? Will they kill me too?” She thought. She then had an idea. “I will grab Koga's sword and I will tell them that I overheard the conversation they had out in the hallway. That way if they try to attack, at least my death will not be in vain and my father will be proud of my valor,” showing off a small snicker. “Yes, that is exactly what I will do.” She turned to look at Koga who was still rubbing his face. She walked over to him seductively. She reached her hand around his waist and quickly pulled the sword from his sash. With the sword in hand, she turned around to face her new opponents.
Everyone in the room was stunned. Not one of them had expected her to become aggressive and take Koga's sword. “Give me back my sword, Woman, before you hurt yourself.” Koga snarled. He started to approach her; she lashed out and cut the side of his arm. He jumped back and immediately licked his fresh wound.
She snapped, noticing them just standing around waiting for her next move, “Would anyone else like to approach me?”
Koga looked at Inuyasha. “Now I know why she was in shackles.” He laughed quietly, trying to bring some light into the situation. His response was a growl, and an evil glare from everyone in the room. “Ok, ok I'm sorry,” he whimpered.
She was amazed they had not tried to attack her and stood patently. Looking over at Inuyasha, she asked him, “Do you remember asking me what my last name was?”
Confusion conflicted in the half demon eyes, he thought back, “Yes.”
“Good, because my name is Kagome Higurashi. General Onigumo Higurashi is my father.” She confessed, hoping to mask the fear that now they would attack her, however, the attack never came. They all had confused expressions on their faces. The room fell into a deadly silence.
“Oh shit!” Inuyasha said
