Chapter 24
Kagome awoke from the sun's golden rays shining in her eyes, warming her face. Her hazy vision flickered between her restrained wrist and Inuyasha resting across her bare stomach. She tried to shift his body off her, but he was too heavy. She growled, as she wasn't in the mood to be tied to the bed all morning, not to mention her painfully full bladder was screaming at her. Moreover, she was still disgusted with herself for giving into him with such ease. She huffed, “Inuyasha.” She really didn't want to wake him, afraid that he would try and seduce her again, but at the moment, there seemed to be no other plausible option. She inwardly cursed her own addiction as she tried once more to shift him off of her, but her attempts were fruitless. She watched as his ears twitched, only to move his head towards her left breast bringing more of his weight on her already swollen bladder. She moaned, not out of pleasure, but out of discomfort, then without warning he latched himself onto her erect nipple.
No, no, no she didn't want this, not now. An idea came to her and she acted on it before she had a chance to consider any repercussions. She rolled her body over, sending him plummeting on to the cold, hard, floorboards. As she watched him hit the floor, she suddenly was nervous for waking her mate so cruelly, yet felt no remorse, fore she had been restrained all night and wanted nothing more than to clean up, and relieve the stress off her bladder.
Inuyasha didn't know what hit him as he crashed to the ground, he never expected her to do that to him, not to her mate. He growled just thinking about it. He snarled as he arose from the floor only to see his fiery mate staring at him. He could see the fear in her eyes, as well as the stubbornness he loved and knew all too well. “Good morning to you also, Love,” he snapped.
She stared intensely at her love, fearing a repeat of last night. “Maybe knocking him off you wasn't such a good idea?” Kagome had considered her actions, but her body was screaming for a different release. “Inuyasha, I'm not in the mood, I need to get up. Besides, I don't feel the ship moving anymore.”
She was right, they where not a sail. “We must have arrived,” he mused, and then growled. Standing up he reached for his clothing pulling out the small key. He narrowed his eyes at the item then turned his gaze to her. “How bad do you want this key, Love?”
She growled, then squirmed, her wrists clanking the cold metal together, “Bastard!” She silently hissed. She couldn't fall victim to him again. “I will not beg, I need to go, Inuyasha. Release me! God help you if you don't.” As much as she wanted him to comply immediately, she could not stop staring at his nude form.
He stood there mocking her, as he folded his arms over his still exposed chest rolling the small key in between his fingers, his smirk grew. He knew what she needed to do, and he wouldn't be so cruel as to oppose his mate of some privacy, but she wasn't out of his grasp yet. Turning, he headed for the chamber pot while being careful of the broken glass. Grabbing it, he noticed broken glass inside, he emptied the basin before returning; he approached his mate, bowl in hand, “Here.” Inuyasha put the item on the bed.
“What? How in the hell do you expect me to use that when I can't even stand?” There was no way she was doing this. She looked at the blue and white oval pan, than back at her mate. If she could, she would cross her arms in protest, however, all she could do was glare.
He growled, “Damn.” He would release her but would return as soon as she was done with her business. Leaning over her unclothed form he whispered in her ear, “This isn't over yet.” He loved watching the emotions flickering through her eyes, and could almost feel her shudder underneath him. Inuyasha smiled, then he undid her restraints, watching them fall onto the mattress with a soft clank. He did respect her privacy, yet toying with her was entertaining. He growled just at the thought of ways he could punish her later, it filled him with a burning desire, he could almost taste the anticipation.
She was finally free, as she rubbed her wrists he still watched her like a predator. She couldn't do this with him watching. “Do you mind? You don't need to stand here and watch me pee, do you?” Kagome snapped, of all the fetishes he could have, this was not one she could have ever predicted.
He huffed. Grabbing his pants, he pulled them on. “Love, I have no desire to watch you, but I will be back, I assure you.” His eyes narrowed, not cruelty but with a promise of dangerous seduction. He turned and was about to head out the door; he stopped, hearing her soft sensual voice.
“Please, Love, bring me back something so I can wash also.” She was in need of a bath, after last night, she felt sweaty and just plain icky, “Hopefully he will comply.”
Turning around, he could see her plea-ridden eyes fluttering innocently at him. He couldn't refuse her. “Anything else, your highness?” It always seemed no matter how hard he tried to be upset he couldn't resist her, “ What has she done to me?” he smiled at the thought, “ life with her will never be dull.”
She smiled, “No, Love, that will be all…” she had almost forgotten. She had been too anxious for her freedom and a nice warm bath, but her mind reminded her of a necessity she couldn't let him forget, “Oh wait, there is one more thing.”
He growled, “What would that be?” Already feeling agitated, that he couldn't mate with her in the morning, now here he was becoming an errand boy.
“Clean clothes.” She knew she was risking it, yet they where next to his ship, why couldn't she wear something of hers?
He snorted and slammed the door behind him. He was already cranky, still pouting over having being thrown so carelessly onto the floor. He snarled, “She will pay dearly for that.” He stopped, and plotted just how she would make restitution to him. A smile appeared on his handsome face. He could see Shippo carrying one of Sango's trunks towards his ship. “Shippo?”
Shippo halted hearing his captain. He set down the heavy trunk and approached Inuyasha, “Yes, Captain?”
“Shippo, tell the cook to prepare some hot water and have my tub filled, I will be over there shortly.”
Shippo nodded, “Yes, Captain, right away, Sir.” Shippo grinned then turned to retrieve his cargo and jumped over to the other ship.
Inuyasha watched envious of his shipmate for his utter agility and grace. The fox was swift and cunning. He would miss him dearly, yet not as much as he would miss his mate during the six months apart. What would he do? The thought of those long months with the wolf demons made him sigh. Maybe he could convince Miroku to pick him up somewhere for a rendezvous, yet he knew better. They would already be heading towards the United States with no chance of interception.
He sighed, “Six months, six long, lonely months. How would he survive without the temperamental vixen?” His thoughts continued, “Fucking six months!” He roared, yet somewhere deep down he heard an inner voice, “You have her now. You have her for a whole week.” Yes, he did have a whole week to taunt her, argue, and pleasure her. The thought made him smile. He prayed that the week would pass slowly and allow him to properly savor her kisses, touch, but most importantly bask in the glowing and comforting radiance of her love.
Kagome finished and emptied her pan out the window. She felt vulnerable, yet not ready to dress until she was clean. She climbed back into bed, and covered herself. As she shifted to cover herself better, she noticed the metal clamps above her head, she pushed them away, not wanting to be reminded of last night. She couldn't complain, it had been pleasurable. The thoughts of his hands roaming her body was heavenly, his kisses soft, sensual, yet laden with forbidden passion.
She reallocated her body again, the haunting visions stirring her, awakening her need, a desire to feel him again. She tried to regain her focus while she awaited her bath. Somehow, she imagined him bathing with her. She moaned, and sat up. Making sure her sheet was tightly wrapped around her, she stepped out of bed and approached the open window. She kneeled on the padded bench, diverting her attention to the rippling water instead of the carnal call of her traitorous body.
The sweet sounds of nature soothed her, sea gulls and other water foul sang into the air while white-capped waves crashed into the side of the vessel. The smell of the salty air was refreshing as it combined with the cool breeze. She smiled as the sounds mesmerized her, casting their bewitching spell. The distraction has worked, her thoughts of the half demon diminished. She leaned her head on the sill as the wind caressed her face moving the raven hair playfully around her.
Inuyasha opened the door with a grin and saw that she wasn't in bed. Softly he closed the door behind him, careful not make a sound, then headed toward the window. He was quiet, careful not to give himself away. He watched with heated eyes, staring at the beauty before him. With a cough, he punctuated the deafening silence.
She yelped and held her sheet tighter. “Inuyasha, what is the meaning of this and where are my bathing supplies?”
Kagome's only answer was a growl and then suddenly she was yanked from her seat. Her body now erect to his, the white sheet partially draping on the floor and the tightening of the fabric pushed her nearly exposed breasts upward, her long tassels cascaded down her bare shoulders. Her hands pressed flatly to his smooth chest as she clung to him, only to feel the beating of his heart and his silver locks tickling her palms. She glared at him with a staggering expression. She wished she could escape the apprehension she felt from the intensity of his devilish eyes. For some reason she could not. She wasn't sure if he was angry with her or if his eyes gleamed with desire. She pondered the ramifications of what he was actually thinking. Unable to bear the suspense any longer, she decided to ask, “Inuyasha, you're not still upset about this morning, are you?” She batted her long lashes at him, hoping for some sort of smile, yet, none came. He was upset, and she was the reason why.
She began to back away, but he grabbed her and held her closer to his body, “What's the hurry? You still need to wash don't you?” His hand grabbed her wrist as he tugged on her arm to follow him out the door. She froze, forcing him to pause.
“I'm not going anywhere like this,” she hissed. Kagome had a tight grip on the top of her sheets, and she refused to be subjected to the ogling eyes of the other men onboard the ships.
He snarled, “You will, and no one will dare to look at you.” Tightening his hold, he watched as she obediently, if not reluctantly, followed.
She couldn't believe that she was actually allowing herself to be dragged out in nothing but a sheet. Her face was burning and she was certain it wasn't from the sun. Closing her eyes, she could not stand to be the subject of ridicule. She reopened her eye stared at the large gap of ocean separating the ships. Feeling her head spin with vertigo, she grabbed Inuyasha tighter, then concentrated her gaze on the men carrying items and animals onboard the ship. She tried to pull back away from him but his grip tightened. She didn't want anyone to see her and getting dressed definitely was more important than a bath as long as he insisted upon parading her around in front of potentially wandering eyes, “I want to go back, Love, please.” She pleaded, desperately.
He snorted hearing his mate's pleas, he knew the men wouldn't dare look at her in this state, not while he was around, and to prove it, he stood there monitoring them. Not one looked over to see the couple. A grin appeared on his face, as he spoke, “What is the matter, Love? You find my company displeasing?”
She gazed upon him with contempt as the wind whipped his hair, showing more of his stern appearance. She fumed, “What is he going on about?” she pondered. He knew that wasn't the reason. She snarled the best she could, “Inuyasha, I know what I did this morning was wrong, but you wouldn't wake up and then…ohhhh!” She grunted, clenching the sheet tighter. “You have no right to treat me like this! Let me go!” She was frustrated, angry and wanted some speck of her dignity back. She pulled back, digging her heels into the wooden deck, desperate to leave his embrace and return to her quarters.
He growled, he didn't like her incensed, and he didn't like being thrown onto the hard floor either. “No!” he snarled, “You wanted a bath and I'm going to give you one!” his snarl soon turned into an arrogant smirk.
“What? No, I want to dress and not paraded about like your harlot, please give me that dignity.”
He threw his head back and laughed but soon stopped as he turned to face her, “Dignity,” he huffed, “what dignity did you show your mate this morning?”
“You wouldn't stop I had to…and my arms were so sore.”
“The floor was hard and cold.” He retorted back, he loved these passionate arguments, and he especially enjoyed watching her lovely eyes narrow coldly against his.
“Serves you right. You know, I was sorry, but now I'm starting to believe that you deserved waking up on your ass!”
Inuyasha leaned closer almost touching her face, “My fiery vixen, when you so unceremoniously threw me from the bed, I didn't land on my ass.” He confessed, watching her register his statement.
“He didn't land on his…” She looked away from him ashamed. “I didn't know, I'm sorry. Just don't make me walk around in nothing but a sheet any longer.”
His eyes softened and mentally he accepted her apology, grabbing onto her chin, he turned her head to stare upon him once again. “The sheet stays, or would you rather I take that away, and make you walk around nude?”
“Why you…no good son of a …”
“Now, now there's no need to swear, I see that you would rather not have the sheet after all.” His hand clenched closer to her cleavage as his clawed finger raked down the valley of her breasts, then over her hand and stopped.
She gasped, “He wouldn't.” Kagome could not believe he was actually going to go through with this as she felt the sheet tug slightly. She tightened her hand so he wouldn't be able to tear the sheet away. “Don't you dare, just get me out of here,” she stomped her foot, “Now!”
He chuckled, “But my love, it is a wonderful day out, the skies are good for sailing, and the air fresh.” He had never in his life seen her so angry, “Maybe I went too far this time.” He thought. Inuyasha grabbed her hand and led her toward some dangling rope, the embers thick and sturdy, he tugged on it to make sure it would hold. He knew he could have just jumped over to the other ship with great ease, but he wanted something not so expected, something that would literally sweep her off her feet. He only hoped the sheet would stay on he really didn't want to kill anyone one today. No, he was planning to spend the morning with his mate on his vessel and in his bed before they parted.
There where many sets of heavy twine tied to the thickly wooded mast, the ropes were usually reserved for lifting cargo aboard other ships. Koga made sure that the animals were secured in their wooden pens before placing them on a skid. He raked the ropes around the load then knotted them securely. He didn't notice Inuyasha and his mate until he glanced upward to call for the men to secure the goods. His eyes opened wide upon seeing Kagome clad only in a sheet. He tried not to stare; it would only mean death for him, yet she was too striking to look away. He watched as the echoes of the intense argument reached his straining ears, yet not a one of the other pirates stirred. They continued to ignore them, even when Inuyasha threatened to take her sheet. He sighed; at least there would be no bloodshed on this day, and continued with his duties.
Watching the waves, Hojo sat on the sandy beach, he smiled as he continued to write in his journal for his family, in case he never returned home. He was happy to be outside and away from the swaying ship. He was grateful when the elder knocked on his door, letting him know that it was safe to leave his room. In his recent days, he befriended an old wolf demon named Sho in which he shared his daily chores. He couldn't help but feel for the elder. His body seemed frail, and bony. The years of the sun had done irreversible damage to his skin. His once white complexion turned to a dark rubbery bronze. He always wore a bandana to cover the loss of his gray hair. Hojo noticed that the other men never messed with him, as if they were almost afraid to. He could see the damage from old wounds around his hands, his claws where cracked with age, and the loss of a fang, he sighed probably lack of nutrition. He wondered how old this elder was. Right now, however, he was simply grateful for his companionship.
Hojo had finally managed to get his sea legs and actually enjoyed the labors onboard, Hojo also enjoyed hearing the men talk of their travels and the riches their captain and his men claimed. He smiled, never before had he come across pirates and live to tell the tale.
Hojo knew he aggravated some of the bandits with his unyielding inquiries, curiosity always weighing about, but the men just glared at him with heated eyes promising a slow and unmerciful death. He soon learned to keep to himself and allowed his one friend, who was always there, to bale him out. He smiled; it was nice to have someone on his side. Finishing up, he decided to re-board the ship. Boarding the small rowboat that rested onshore, he waited for the other pirates to return from their morning hunt.
Hojo finally managed to climbed over the ladder, slightly out of breath he hung there trying to gain his last bit of strength. When he looked up, his eyes widened as he gazed upon an angel. Suddenly an arm grabbed him, yanking Hojo into the boat and onto the wooden floor, “Do not stare, Boy, that will only get you killed.”
Hojo gulped and grabbed his throat, he imagined Inuyasha coming at him with those deadly claws. Blinking, he couldn't help but ask, “Is she in trouble?”
The elder grabbed his arm tighter, “Boy, keep quiet, he can hear very well, and no, she is in no danger. That is his mate, Kagome.”
“Mate? But he is a demon.” Hojo stated his tone low. He just stood their shocked, “Why would she choose a demon over a human?” His eyes narrowed at the mere thought.
“Aye, that he is Boy. Now get to work, I will answer any other questions in the privacy of our quarters, it's not safe to talk out in the open.”
Hojo nodded, “Yes Sir,” then helped the elder.
Inuyasha grabbed Kagome tightly to his chest with one arm on the rope and the other wrapped tightly around her waist as he jumped up onto the tall mast. He could feel his mate tremble, as she clung to his bare skin for dear life, “Inuyasha, what in the world has gotten in to you? Why are we so high u…? The last part turned into a scream as he leapt off the wooden beam, she closed her eyes, briefly feeling the wind caress her face on her airless journey. The sheet slightly unwrapped, flowing freely behind her exposing a teasing amount of her shapely legs. Opening her eyes, she began to enjoy the sensation as if she was flying. With the fear of falling conquered, she could not keep herself from laughing.
Inuyasha's ears flattened when he heard her screech, but he ignored the shrill and chuckled as he swung over to the other side of the boat. He was pleased with her reaction as he landing soundly onto the deck of his own vessel. He let go of the rope and watched it swing back. “How was that, Love?” He asked slightly winded as he let her slide from his body.
She gasped for air, never before in her life had she felt so alive. She smiled brightly, forgetting her state of undress, and the once stubborn man before her, “I want to do that again!” she exclaimed, feeling like a little girl once more. Her smile faded briefly as she frowned and thought about her past. She didn't want to ruin the mood so she fought back her emotions, and smiled at her mate. “Well, where is that bath you promised me?”
Inuyasha chuckled, “This way, Love.” He led her into his quarters. It felt strange having her onboard his ship again. This time, she was free to be with him of her own accord and no longer his unwilling captive.
Leading her into his room, a tub of steaming water in a silver basin waited in the middle of the floor, next to the basin were some perfumed soaps and scented oils. Letting go of her arm, he walked over and picked up the oils, he read the label: Heather. He smiled as he relished the scent of the purple flowers suspended in the clear bottle. Popping the cork, he poured it into the tub, leaving a nice floral aroma in its wake. “Come, Kagome,” he called to her. His eyes bathed her in warmth, while his tone sent delightful shivers down her spine with its seductive bravado.
She smiled as she slowly sauntered over to him. As the sheet dragged across the wooden floor, she reached her hand up to further loosen it and allowed it to fall onto the ground, while never stopping her stride. He watched awestruck as her hips swayed gently, her breasts bounced softly, their eyes yearning for one another, wishing for the feeling of her embrace and the heated passion they concurred. His hand was welcoming as she accepted it, only to be brought up to his chest as his lips met hers.
