Thi s is a songfic written by Yours Truly! The songs I used were Britney Spears “My Only Wish” and 98degrees “Gift”. These are two of my favorite Christmas songs!!!

~ DISCLAMIER!: Since I don't like to be sued it's only fair that I give Ms. Rumiko Takashi her dues and say that I own nothing to do with the Inuyasha franchise - except for the lovely consumer merchandise!! I also do not own Britney or 98degrees (however I would love to be alone with Nick Lachey for a night! Haha) anyway *cough* here's my Christmas songfic oneshot story thing!! ~
~_~
Inuyasha paced back and forth by the bone eaters well.

“What seems to be the trouble Inuyasha?” Miroku asked, watching his friend pace nervously.

“Kagome's gone home for Christmas.” Inuyasha said.

“Ah yes, the celebratory time for her era.” Miroku acknowledge.

“Yea… so she can go out with Hojo and forget all about me.” He sat down on the lip of the well and looked up quickly. “Us.” He covered. “This era and all.”

“Riight.” Miroku shook his head at his completely hopeless friend. “Look, go to her time. Be honest with your feelings, for once in your life Inuyasha. Just go.”

Inuyasha smirked, the closest he had been to a smile in many months. “Yea.” He stood up, preparing to jump down the well. “I'll just come out and tell her that, she's mine. And I didn't need Kikyou to die to figure that out - it's always been her.” Inuyasha declared.

“Good for you!” Miroku said jubilantly. “Now go tell her not me!”

“But-“ Inuyasha hated admitting when he was scared (though he had gotten much better at it over the years).

“Just go!”

Inuyasha nodded and jumped through the well. This Christmas was going to be one of miracles.

Oh yeah yeah...
Last night I took a walk in the snow,
Couples holdin hands, places to go,
Seems like everyone but me is in love
Santa can you hear me?
I signed my letter that I sealed with a kiss,
I sent it off, it just said this:
"I know exactly what I want this year"
Santa can you hear me?
I want my baby, baby
I want someone to love me, someone to hold,
Maybe Maybe (Maybe, Maybe)
He'll be all my own in a big red bow
Kagome sighed as she looked outside, nearly everyone outside seemed to have a counterpart. There were couples everywhere. She thought about the phone on her bed… sure, Hojo would be available… but was it worth it? Was it worth wasting her Christmas eve on a single date with Hojo, when she could be… “Forget it Kagome” she muttered to herself, getting off her bed and heading out to school. “Just forget it.”

As Kagome entered the school she was bombarded by her friends asking her if she had plans for Christmas Eve yet and how it was only one day away.

“Guys,” she said, rolling her eyes, “get over it. So what if I don't have a date on Christmas Eve, it's not the end of the world.” She changed in to her gym clothes and walked into the gym. “Besides, I might already have plans.”

“Well not with Hojo.” Eri commented.

“Yea, you totally have broken that mans heart.” Ayumi added.

“You guys are being dramatic.” Kagome declared. “He could have any girl in this school, what would he want with me anyway?”

“Well he does want you; he's been chasing you since we were fifteen.”

“Whatever.” Kagome retorted.

“You're not still with that biker are you?” Eri asked incredulously.

“What? No. I was never with Inuyasha in the first place.” Kagome rolled her eyes.

“Then go out with Hojo.”

“Yea, what could it hurt?”

Kagome felt defeated, her friends just didn't understand… no one did.

The snow is falling, the city is white
Your eyes are shining like diamonds tonight
And we're all alone
There's no one home
You're finally in my arms again
The night is silent
and Christmas is here
I couldn't ask for more than having you near
Cuz I love you girl,
I always will
And now I know the moment is right
Inuyasha landed easily on the floor of the well, he jumped up and recognized the now familiar surroundings of Kagome's time. He sniffed around, trying to find out where she was.

“Inuyasha?” Kagome's mother was outside, apparently shoveling.

“Hi.” Inuyasha said easily, he was getting quite comfortable around Kagome's family.

“What are you doing here?” She asked, walking toward him. “I thought Kagome was staying through the Holidays.”

“She is.” Inuyasha said quickly, “But… I needed to give her something.” He blushed slightly, trying to hide it from Ms. Higarashi.

“What is it dear?” She asked.

“I… well I know that Christmas is a big deal for you guys or whatever, and well last year Kagome made me a gift, I guess that's what you do… so, I want to give her something this year.” His cheeks turned redder than they had ever been and he looked away.

“That's wonderful Inuyasha.” Ms. Higarashi said. “Why don't you come inside? Kagome's at school right now. Christmas Eve is tomorrow, so why don't you stay tonight and give it to her tomorrow?”

“Oh.. yea okay.”

Santa can you hear me?
I have been so good this year
And all I want is one thing,
Tell me my true love is here
He's all I want, just for me
Underneath my Christmas tree
I'll be waiting here
Santa that's my only wish this year

Kagome walked back from school in low spirits. She loved this time of year, the children laughing, decorating, presents, shopping, snow, it was all so beautiful and magical. This year, she just couldn't seem to get herself to be happy, no matter how hard she tried.

She was graduating (by some miracle) this was her last year, and she wanted to finally have a life, a real boyfriend. She felt as though she had accomplished nothing within her teenage years and she wanted that to change.

“But he doesn't love you.” She told herself bitterly. “When Kikyou died, he may as well have died too.” She shook those thoughts from her mind. She had to be cheery. If she wasn't the happy perky Kagome that everyone loved… who was she?

She got home to see a very worried looking Hanyou sitting on the front steps.

“Inuyasha!” She exclaimed, the excitement of seeing the very dog demon who plagued her thoughts was unexpected. “What are you doing here?” She asked, forcing a stoic tone and face. “The holidays are not over and I am not going back with you.”

“Feh. I didn't come here to take you back.” He rolled his eyes.

“Oh.” She said, sitting down beside him. “Then why are you here?”

He hesitated, trying hard not to show his vulnerable side. “I came tospendchristmaswithyou.” He muttered.

“I'm sorry, I didn't catch that.” Kagome felt her self smile a little, she was pretty sure she could decipher his jumbled together words.

“I came to spend Christmas with you.” He repeated clearly, though not particularly loudly.

“Oh Yash.” The smile that had threatened to break finally did. “You don't have to. I mean, I know you'll probably be bored out of your mind.”

“If I didn't want to be here I wouldn't.” He said flatly.

She was kind of surprised by his forwardness. “Okay.” She stood up and started into the house, “then I'm glad you're here.”

*Cuz I've been waiting to give this gift tonight
Im' down on my knees, there's no better time
It's something to last for as long as you live
Tonight I'm going to give you (oh girl!) all my heart can give!!*
Inuyasha followed Kagome around for the entire night, trying to decide if she felt for him at all like he was feeling for her. He paced back and forth, thinking that he might as well give up. After the mistletoe explanation however he had an idea. He would not spend Christmas alone - and neither would Kagome.
Oh yeahh.. Yeahh Yeahh...
Christmas Eve, I just can't sleep
Would I be wrong for takin a peek
Cuz I heard that you're comin' to town
Santa can you hear me?
I really hope that you're on your way
With something special for me in your sleigh
Oh please make my wish come true,
Santa can you hear me?
I want my baby, baby
I want someone to love me, someone to hold
Maybe, Maybe (Maybe, Maybe)
We'll be all alone under the mistletoe
Kagome put the final touches on her presents and smiled at Inuyasha, who was still working on the one present he offered to help wrap. He fiddled with the bow for a minute before giving up and leaving the mess of ribbon and wrapping paper on the floor next to the video game for her brother.

Kagome giggled, taking the package from the defeated Hanyou and she wrapped it herself, writing on the tag “To: Souta, Love: Kagome”.

“What's the point of wrapping the presents anyway?” Inuyasha asked. “I mean, you just got to rip open the paper in the morning right? So it's a waste of time.”

“I can see your point.” Kagome said thoughtfully. “But if we didn't wrap them it wouldn't be a surprise - and besides, they're pretty and its fun.” She smiled at Inuyasha as he `feh'ed' but the reason seemed to pacify his curiosity.

Inuyasha followed Kagome downstairs as she went to put the presents under the tree. She turned to look at Inuyasha, “There's a Christmas party tomorrow - my mom throws it every year, so you're going to have to wear the clothes from our time if you want to come okay?”

Inuyasha rolled his eyes but agreed to wear the disguise. Kagome stood in the doorframe of the kitchen and Inuyasha looked up curiously. “What's that?” he asked.

Kagome looked up to see that she was standing under the mistletoe. “Oh,” she said sheepishly. “Well, that's just mistletoe.” When Inuyasha gave her a look that urged her to continue she sighed and went on. “Well, traditionally when two people stand under the mistletoe together they're supposed to kiss. It's supposed to be kismet.” She said, moving away from the mistletoe and heading into the kitchen. “Hungry?”

I thought I'd give you something shiny and new
I tried to find something worthy of you
But I realized, when I looked inside
There's some things that money can't buy!
Oh no!
I feel the magic, whenever you're near
I feel it even more this time of the year
Cuz I love you girl
I always will
And now I know the moment is right

Inuyasha was nervous as the party guests started arriving. He was dressed in a suit and slacks that had apparently belonged to Mr. Higarashi before he died. They appeared a little outdated for Kagomes time but he didn't really care what he looked like. He walked downstairs, taking in all the people he had never met. He sniffed the air for danger, just to be sure, but it was clear.
Inuyasha's breath hitched as he looked across the living room looking at where Kagome was mingling with guests. She was wearing a red strapless dress that flowed down her body, revealing her curves in the sexiest way. The material pulled together at the side to make an extra long layer of material scoping down her side. Inuyasha gaped at her, her hair up in a neat and perfect arrangement of curls, tussles of hair hanging down beside her face, sculpting her cheeks and adding to the image of perfect that he now had the pleasure to behold. He smiled and questioned why he hadn't made her his long ago.

Tonight Kagome. He thought, staring hungrily at the girl, if only you'll accept me.

I hope my letter reaches you in time (oh yeah)
Bring me love I can call all mine (oh yeah)
Cuz I have been so good, so good this year, (oh oh)
Can't be alone under the mistletoe,
He's all I want in a big red bow.

Kagome fixed and refixed her hair. She was trying to go for a cute sculpted, look that would evenly match her dress, but she just came off as wild and spooky.

“Would you stop worrying Kagome?” Eri said.

“Yea, you look totally fine.” Ayumi agreed. “So come on.” Ayumi smiled and led the way out of Kagome's room.

Kagome sighed, trying to fix her hair once more before following her friends down to the party. She mingled a little and finally took up conversation with her cousin Ken who she hadn't seen in nearly four years.

As she listened idly, laughing at the appropriate parts, she noticed a new figure joining the cluster of people in the living room. She gasped as she saw Inuyasha descending the stairs wearing one of her dad's old tuxedos. It was a little outdated, but Inuyasha made it look fabulous. His hair was back so that his appearance was more tame than usual, and he must have had pins on his ears, because Kagome couldn't see them. She followed his movements out of the corner of her eye, watching him walk steadily before stopping at the bottom of the stairs; he appeared to be staring at her. She kept her left eye partially on him, unconsciously licking her lips at his gorgeousness.

Ken finished his story about prep school and she smiled and excused herself. She walked over to Inuyasha and smiled at him. “You look very nice.” She said, watching him blush at the compliment.

“I feel like an idiot. But I can deal with it.” He said, tugging at his collar.

Kagome reached up and unbuttoned the top button on his collar, “There.” She said, “Now you have a little room to breathe.” She smiled and realized her hand was still on his chest. She quickly pulled it away, “I have to continue mingling.” She said, dashing away before he could say another word.

*Cuz I've been waiting to give this gift tonight!
I'm down on my knees, there's no better time
It's something to last for as long as you live
Tonight I'm going to give you all my heart can give!*
Inuyasha watched Kagome walk away, and realized it had been the perfect opportunity to express his feelings, but he chickened out at the last minute. Why couldn't you have just said she looked beautiful!? He asked himself, cursing his male brain.

He tried to follow Kagome but was stopped by two girls, about Kagome's age.

“Uh, hi.” He said.

“Hi.” They said in unison. “You're that biker kid right?” Eri asked.

Inuyasha looked at her stupidly. “It's okay.” Ayumi butted in. “We're Kagomes best friends.”

“Okay.” He said, not really caring who these people were.

“You better not break her heart.” Eri said bluntly. “She's talked about you for a while now -“

“She even gave up Hojo for you.” Ayumi added.

“Yea. So make up your mind on what you want with her. Kay?” Eri said, walking away.

“Yea.” Ayumi agreed, following Eri back into the masses.

Inuyasha watched the two walk away, his brain working over time to make the connection. Does… does Kagome want to be with me?

Inuyasha found Kagome talking to Aunt Keiko. “Kagome,” he said, tugging her arm.

“I'll be right back Aunt Keiko.” She said, allowing herself to be dragged off by the Hanyou. “What are you doing?” Kagome asked as they stopped in the doorframe between the kitchen and the living room.

Inuyasha swallowed hard, fighting back all of his fear of rejection and trying to let down his defenses. “Kagome,” he didn't have words, they were awkward and he never knew what to say. Instead he looked up, and Kagome followed his eyes.

“Oh.” She said, not realizing that he had brought her there on purpose.

He leaned down, his heart racing as his lips grazed hers. He pulled back quickly, not wanting to scare her off, or offend her. Kagome was unsure of the sudden withdrawal but bit back her fear and reached for Inuyasha again.

Santa can you hear me?
I have been so good this year
And all I want is one thing
Tell me my true love is near
He's all I want, just for me
Underneath my Christmas tree
I'll be waiting here,
Santa that's my only wish this year
Kagome followed Inuyasha straight to the mistletoe. She looked up, realizing where he had brought her. On purpose? She asked herself. Inuyasha leaned down to kiss her, but after barely grazing her lips he pulled away. Kagome was hesitant, what did he really want? What do I really want? Kagome knew the answer to the latter question.

She snaked her hands around Inuyasha's neck and brought him back to her for a deeper kiss. He responded to the kiss with open passion. He teased her mouth with her tongue, begging her to play with him. She opened her mouth, allowing his tongue to explore within. She, in turn, played back with his.

Suddenly she pulled away from him. “We can't do this here.” She said, “My entire family is here, it's awkward.” She explained.

“Can we go upstairs?” he asked.

Kagome wondered if he knew what kind of line that was, but decided he didn't really understand her time cliché's so she smiled and nodded, leading him up the stairs.

Mrs. Higarashi watched her daughter go upstairs with Inuyasha and she smiled to herself, “Love is in the air.”

Oh Santa, can you hear me...?
Oh Santa..
You know I'll always be true to you
Well he's all I want
And you know I'm the one you can turn to
Just for me, underneath my Christmas tree
Oh oh yeah
I'll be waiting here,
Any time, any place, or anywhere
Santa that's my only wish this year
You know that I'll always be there!
Santa that's my only wish this year

Kagome closed the door to her room and she smiled at Inuyasha. She had waited so long to feel his lips upon hers, and now she wanted to feel more. She had had dreams of this for the passed three years, and she wanted so much for those dreams to become reality. Tonight, it seemed as though they just might.

Inuyasha was having similar thoughts as he saw the beauty before him lock her bedroom door. He shook his head at himself, for how much of an ignorant idiot he had been all these years. Kagome came up to him and he put his arms around her, kissing her again. He pulled their lips away, only to kiss a hot wet trail down her neck, he inhaled her scent, taking in every detail of this moment.

Kagome brought their lips together again, wanting to continue feeling his mouth on hers. Inuyasha pulled back suddenly and she looked at him questioningly.

“I wanted to say something before.” Inuyasha said, pulling his hair out of the ponytail it was in. “Earlier when you said I looked nice, I wanted to say something but you walked away before my courage caught up to me.” He said, blushing a little bit from his honest confession. “I wanted to say that you looked beautiful.” Kagome felt herself blushing and she smiled wider than he had seen her smile. “You always look beautiful, and I should have told you that from the day I met you.”

Kagome felt like she could cry. This was unlike anything Inuyasha had ever done for her before. She bit her lip to stop from crying and sniffled slightly. “Thank you.” She managed. She wanted to be honest, to tell him that she loved him - but even after his little confession, she didn't have the courage.

“There's something else.” He said, “I know on Christmas and Christmas Eve you exchange gifts. Well I don't have a gift to give you.” He admitted. “But, I wanted to say I love you Kagome. I didn't need Kikyou to die to figure that out - it's always been you.”

Kagome's mouth opened wide as she stood in utter shock. Inuyasha blushed tremendously and he sat on her bed, trying to regain some composure. Kagome sat next to him, placing her hand on his, her temporary shock apparently warn off.

“Inuyasha.” She said quietly. “When I first met you I thought it was a school girl crush that I had on you. But as we got to know each other and as the years went on, I realized there was no one else for me - and that I loved you with my entire heart and soul.” She smiled at him, turning his blushing face toward hers.

She kissed him softly on the lips, and waited for him to respond. Eagerly he delved in to an intense kiss that left Kagome breathless. He gently leaned back, pushing her to lie flat on her back. He kissed her hungrily, his eyes glazing over with lust. Kagome sighed and moaned as his kisses took over her emotions.

“Inuyasha?” she asked calmly, he looked up at her curiously. “Will you… can we… I want to be yours Inuyasha. All yours, always.”

Inuyasha knew what that meant and he was flustered at the comment. “Do you really? You want to be my mate? And be with me forever?”

“Yes.” She said her voice steady and sure. “Always.”

“If you're sure.” Inuyasha was scared she would change her mind, but he wanted to be sure that she really wanted this.

“I'm sure.” Kagome replied without the least bit of hesitation.

With that Inuyasha smiled and began kissing her once again. He allowed his hands to roam freely over her small frame, and he wanted to feel her skin against his fingers instead of just the soft fabric of her dress. He sat up, taking off his jacket and undershirt. Kagome sat up with him, unzipping her dress carefully and allowing it to fall off her shoulders and down her stomach. As Inuyasha stood to remove his pants Kagome also stood and allowed the dress to fall to the floor. Inuyasha stared at her for a long time, taking in the image of her beauty. Kagome bit her lip nervously, looking at Inuyasha, who was standing with his pants undone and his mouth agape. “You are so gorgeous.” He said, in a voice that was almost inaudible.

Kagome smiled kissing Inuyasha and pulling him down to the bed, he leaned down, supporting himself on his knees. His tongue dancing with hers. He couldn't believe this was the moment, the time he had waited for, longed for. For the passed three years he had wanted nothing more than Kagome by his side… he understood that now and he accepted it.

Inuyasha's hand snaked a trail down Kagome's body and reached the lining of her panties with excitement. He smiled into their kisses as he removed the article, the only item left on her. He tossed the item on to the floor of her room, not caring where it haphazardly ran off to. He was completely involved in Kagome.

Kagome felt her body temperature rise and her heartbeat quicken. She had wanted this moment for so long, and now that it was here and tangible she realized how scared she was. Inuyasha slowly reached a finger into her heated core. Kagome arched toward him, her body naturally responding to his touch. He smiled at her reaction and he followed his instincts. He slowly pumped his finger inside her before adding a second digit. Kagome moaned and arched toward him, loving the pleasure he was providing. When he felt her become nice and wet he stopped, removing his fingers. Kagome moaned at the loss of his touch and he tried to pacify that as he mounted her cautiously. Inuyasha began to enter slowly, cautious of her feminine barrier.

Kagome tried not to show that she was scared, but it was apparent in her eyes. “I'll stop.” Inuyasha said, kissing her softly. “Whenever you want. If it hurts, if you're scared. I would never do anything to hurt you.”

Kagome stared up at him with her round chocolate eyes, wondering why it took them so long to get to this point. “I know.” She said, and as she stared at him she realized that something was missing from his appearance and reached up to unpin his ears. Inuyasha looked at her curiously when he felt his ears freed. “I love you just the way you are.” Was all she said.

“I love you too.” He smiled, kissing her softly.

He began to inch his way slowly into her, stopping when he felt her wince, or noticed her breath hitch.

Kagome couldn't stand the tension anymore, and she knew that Inuyasha wouldn't want to hurt her, so she distracted him with a passion filled kiss and plunged herself up on to him. He moaned at the ecstasy of being inside Kagomes tight heat and yet worried that she was hurt.

After a few moments Kagome slowly pulled back and moved forward again, setting a slow and steady rhythm that Inuyasha followed. Their bodies moved together in time, and nothing had ever been as wonderful. As Inuyasha moved inside Kagome she could feel herself adjusting to him and she felt herself relax at his tender touch. She felt herself reaching the peak of her desire and she knew that she could belong to no one else, that it would always be Inuyasha. As Inuyasha climaxed he bit down on Kagomes neck, signaling the mark of the youkai mate. Kagome didn't notice the small twinge of pain that the bite caused as she was too wrapped up in the final thrust and shock waves of pleasure that Inuyasha sent through her lower core. Inuyasha nearly collapsed as he finished, and he rolled to the side, cuddling Kagome close to him.

Kagome looked tired and felt weak. She smiled and kissed Inuyasha's lips once more. “Good night.” She said, snuggling into his safe and warm embrace.

“Good night.” He whispered kissing the top of her head. He looked at the alarm clock on the bed stand and smiled as it struck midnight. “Merry Christmas Kagome.”
