Chapter 1

Dear Journal,

Today was my first day at school. It was tiring. First I met all these girls who were really giggly. Anyway, hello, my name is Key. I live in Tokyo, Japan. I had lived in Japan some other place, but my family and I moved here. So this would be my first day at my new high school.

I have two older brothers and one younger sister. We live with my mom. My dad had abandoned us. I actually feel bad for him. Anywho, today at school everyone was really nice to me.

It was weird. I met this girl named Kagome Higurashi. We became fast friends. Like me, Kagome has a passion for the Feudal Age of Japan. I told her I would feel right in that time period. It seemed to me that Kagome wasn't at school very often because everywhere we went people were like "Hi Kagome! Are you feeling all right?" There was this boy at school, I noticed, who stood away from the crowd instead of being in it.

Loner. Pore kid. Well, that seems to cover the highlights of my day. Oh! And Kiki, my sister, got her head stuck in a jar. It was so funny! Well, bye for now!

Key

Somewhere in Feudal Japan

Someone's shrilled shrieks filled the silent night air.

"Jeez, if you want to see that hand of yours again you better keep it away from my butt!"

"Ow! Don't throw tha-! Ow! Not a rock, not a rock!!!" The lecherous monk yelled while kneeling and begging.

"Just go away Houshi-sama!" Sango threw a rock right by the pitiful Miroku's ear. She walked back to the campsite as a small kitsune hopped out of a nearby tree.

"My gosh Miroku! How many times has she hit you with objects? Once? Twice? One million? Haven't you got the idea by now?" At that Shippou hopped into the bushes.

Miroku just sat there in the grass rubbing the tiny wounds he had just been given silently saying to himself "It was worth the pain."

"Kagome! Why do you have to go now!? We have to search for the shikon shards!" Inu Yasha wined following Kagome to the well. Kagome said nothing and jumped in the well only to come out at the Higuarshi Shrine.

Kagome Higuarshi a is fifteen year old girl, who was sucked into her family shrine's well and came out into the Feudal Age of Japan. Where she met Inu Yasha. (AN: but lets not have Kagome suck up all the lime light)
