Chapter one…

It was a clear day like every other day in the old world and Sesshoumaru sat in the old God tree thinking of ways to get the Tetsuiga.

(Please don't kill me I am not a good speller!!!)

He wanted it badly and everyone knew it was dangerous to get between him and the sword, but that did not stop anyone from trying. He was a stubborn proud demon and what he wanted he got. Why shouldn't he, he is the Great Demon Lord of the Western Lands…

`That bastard (inuyasha) will give me the Tetsuiga no matter what…but how do I deal with those meddling humans…no matter they get in my way they die…'

Just then he smelled his half brother coming along accompanied by the wench and the other humans. He saw how much his dear brother cared for the wench but he never thought of using her as bait, it was not his style, although killing her, he would not mind. He knew inuyasha would never give up the sword no matter what.

`She does smell good though…WHAT!!!' He scowled at himself although his face did not show it. `How could I think such a thing? Perhaps Rin is making me soft…' the little girl's face popped into his mind, she loved him so and he could not understand that…Rin had seen the wench a couple of times and exclaimed over and over again how beautiful she was and how sweet she looked. `I was nearly driven MAD by that child and her rants on the filthy human!' he wondered if at least he could get rid of one problem right now…. `Her smell is pleasing…' He wondered why he thought that it was very unlike him, but again why….again Rin came up, he wondered if it would be better to have the wench around so Rin would leave him alone….he kept telling himself that is what he really wanted.

Just as inuyasha smelled the air he knew that Sesshoumaru was there…he did not want anyone hurt but he would not give up the sword. He unsheathed Tetsuiga and prepared to battle.

"Sesshoumaru…you CAN'T have it!" Inuyasha looked at his half brother's eyes with anger and frustration; they had just finished battling a demon for another shard.

"I, Sesshoumaru Great Demon Lord of the Western Lands, do not have to ask for the Tetsuiga, all I have to do is take it…" He narrowed his honey golden eyes at inuyasha and in the corner of his eyes he saw the wench was also ready to fight. He could sense no fear or anger just loyalty and weariness.

Kagome looked at Sesshoumaru silently, hoping that she would not have to fight she was exhausted! `He is beautiful though his eyes he looks so strong and determined too…ACK!! WHAT AM I THINKING THIS MAN, DEMON, ONLY WANTS TO KILL ME!!' she made a face and continued to hope he would just leave. She was not paying much attention but the inuyasha started to yell and she noticed it was not about the Tetsuiga…

"I want the wench!" Sesshoumaru claimed!

"WHAT THE FUCKING HELL DO YOU WANT WITH HER YOU HATE HUMANS AND BESIDES SHE'S MY BITCH!"

Kagome flared at this, "SIT, SIT, SIT, SIT, SIT, SIT, SIT, SIT, SIT, SIT, SIT, SIT, SIT, SIT, SIT, SIT, AND SIT!!!!"

Inuyasha hit the ground and rose with a mouthful of dirt. "What the hell was that for wench?"

"SIT!!! MY NAME IS KAGOME!!! KA-GO-ME!! Not WENCH, BITCH, GIRL, its KAGOME!!!!"

She stared at Sesshoumaru as she said this, and made a point of it to have even him know this.

Sesshoumaru chuckled inside at this `she looks cute when she's angry'

Before Kagome could blink he had his arm around her waist and he was out of sight.

`She smells good, so good…'

"WHAT THE… let go of me now!!" Kagome kicked and screamed trying everything to get away.

"Shut up wench!" Sesshoumaru tightened his hold and put his hand over her mouth.

Kagome bit his finger making the demon lord angry and he without warning turned her and held her by her neck up in the air.

"How DARE YOU a good for nothing human WENCH, draw blood from ME!!" he narrowed his eyes that looked deep into hers, she showed no fear nothing…just anger. He wanted her then and there but he was a demon lord and knew better.

`But… I want her!!!'

"Let me go now!" Kagome narrowed her eyes so that she could make her point, but it was useless she wanted to die she hated her life now, she knew about inuyasha and how much he loved Kikyo. She hated reminding him of her, how when ever he looked at her all he saw was her.

"Go ahead and kill me if you want." She said it with nothing but pain in her voice, she was tired of being someone else she wanted to sleep forever… and never wake up.

Sesshoumaru was shocked at this, although you couldn't tell, she wanted to die. `But why? `She was in pain but he knew he was not causing it, `then what?' he lowered her down gently and saw her fall on her knees and start to cry. The saltiness of her tears was strong and he hated seeing her in pain, `why?'

Before he could answer that question he had his arms around her trying to comfort her the best he could. She stopped crying and wondered why he was doing that he hated her? `No, I don't hate her…'

When she stopped crying he stood up gracefully and told her to come with him, she was in the middle of a forest and knew of the dangers around her so she had no choice.

They had walked miles and miles until she couldn't walk anymore and sat down by a tree. He heard her stop and turned to see her shivering and trying to sleep. He stood near her breathing in her scent like a drug. Before he knew it she had wrapped herself in his long fluffy tail. He could have walked away and let the girl freeze or taken his tail away and let her fall. `No I like it I want her touching it, I want to touch her…' he lowered himself to the ground and watched her sleep.

`God she's stunning.'

The sun shown and streaked Kagome's face. She started to move but felt something so warm and fluffy around her she almost hated having to wake up. She suddenly opened her eyes and knew what it was.

"Oh God no!"

"Would you mind letting go, "Sesshoumaru looked at her she blushed and let go of his tail.

"Come we must continue."

With that he continued to walk without waiting for her reply.

`OH MY GOD! How could I have wrapped myself in his tail! But it was so warm and nice. He is handsome and beautiful, but then again he also wants to kill me.'

Sesshoumaru observed her without her knowledge, and wondered what she was thinking.

"We are here."

Kagome looked up and saw the walls of a gigantic palace and wondered why he brought her there.

"Why am I here!?"

"You are here for Rin, you will stay here for as long as she wants, you will not get in my way and you shall obey all that I say."

"Oh please, why should I? `She kept watching him intently hoping he would kill her. Even he did not want her for herself, just for the little girl, and the sword. He did not say that but she assumed it. She was hurt but did not know how to mend it, she had lost most hope and Sesshoumaru was not helping, Hmph like he would ever help me!' then she remembered how he held her when she had collapsed crying. `Why did he not kill me then was it just so I could look after the girl?'

Sesshoumaru walked closer to her until he was bout an inch away then he lowered his head to look into her eyes. Kagome raised her eyes to meet his. `God they're beautiful' She memorized ever tint of color in his eyes every line on his face every strand of hair and kept that locked in her mind. Sesshoumaru wondered what it would feel like to kiss her. `Her lips are beautiful, so full, so sweet looking…' Before he could stop himself he found himself pressing his lips to hers. `gods they are sweet!' he licked her lower lip and savored it.

Kagome stood there stunned, but it felt so good. A small moan escaped her and allowed Sesshoumaru to further explore her mouth with his tongue. Kagome found herself returning the passionate kiss. Sesshoumaru had pulled her closer to him and was gracing her back with his claws, savoring the shivers that were running through both their bodies.

Kagome suddenly snapped her eyes open and pulled her head back, but she was still in his arms, he held her tightly. She lowered her eyes.

"Can I rest please…?"

Sesshoumaru knew she was tired but he did not want to let go of her. He did though. `Why did I not want to let her go, why did I kiss her? I have never wanted to touch a filthy human! But she is not a filthy human she smells of jasmine and of wildflowers that grow along streams.'

Keeping the same expression he always had, "I will lead you to your chambers…"

Once Kagome was in her room and Sesshoumaru was outside she sighed and lay on the large bed.

"Why did he kiss me? CAN he possibly have…" she trailed off and wondered… `Could he? Do I? Is that possible? He was there for me somehow. Could I love him?' She slept as the last thought plagued her mind… "Could I love Sesshoumaru?"
