CHAPTER 6

Kagome looked outside at the garden below; she did not feel like doing much lately. Sesshoumaru had yelled at her for making a stupid mistake which could have gotten her killed. Although she had been training for the past two months, she was still getting used to her new powers. She wondered why she had turned into a demon still, no matter what Sesshoumaru said about her mating with him, she still found it a little strange.

`Why hadn't Inuyasha's mom turned into a demon?'

She began to think about the way Sesshoumaru had been acting lately, she was so confused, if they had mated why then did he act so strange? One minute he would be cuddling and nuzzling, the next he would be avoiding her and wanting her to disappear.

`Why does he hurt me so?'

Kagome decided to go and talk to him about this; she was not going be a wifey! She stormed out of her room feeling nothing but anger and sadness.

Sesshoumaru was in his study filling out paperwork and setting up meetings with the other Great Demons. His thoughts, however, kept being interrupted by Kagome and her hurt expression when he yelled at her yesterday.

`Perhaps I was too hard on her…'

Sesshoumaru was indeed avoiding her questions as to why she was a demon. He grimaced at the thought of having to reveal to her what he did…. Just then the door to his study was busted into nothing but splinters and amongst the dust that was dieing down stood Kagome raging mad.

"YOU WILL TELL ME RIGHT NOW WHY YOU AVIOD ME!!!" Kagome growled so loud that Jaken, who was at the other end of the castle arriving with Rin heard her and quickly took the little girl away to keep her distracted for he knew that Sesshoumaru would have his head if he brought the young ward to him now.

Sesshoumaru looked shocked for about 2 seconds before his expression turned dire. `It's now or never, I'd prefer the never… dam…'

"Kagome calm yourself," He said with a bored expression, but behind it there was only a small tinge of nervousness, "I can't have you destroying my palace now can I?"

Kagome fumed at this, "OUR PALACE!!! OUR, OUR, OUR!!" Her eyes were now glazed with a thin coat of tears, "Why do you act as if I am nothing but a bother, do you not love me, do you only say things that will make things go your way? Why is it you avoid my questions and only spend time with me when we train, and bed?"

Sesshoumaru frowned, `Does she really think I do not love her?'

Sesshoumaru's expression became angered he then slammed Kagome into the wall careful not to hurt her but making sure she could not leave. "You DARE doubt ME! What must I do to get it through you that I love you?" The words came out angry when he did not mean them to.

Kagome stared at him then decided to push him away with some force. "I am leaving."

That was all she said then she leapt out the nearest window. Sesshoumaru tried to follow her, but because he had taught her to conceal herself he could not track her.

Kagome was crying so hard that she couldn't really tell where she was going but ended up stopping in a small clearing, her knees hit the ground with a crash and her hands supported her from falling forward, her tears were now flowing none stop.

"Why..." `Why is he so mean sometimes?'

Just as she had regained her composure she heard movement in the bushes.

`Shit I forgot my weapons'

Kagome sniffed the air, but before she knew it she was on the ground and unconscious.

Kagome awoke and found herself bound by strange ropes that looked fragile, but when she tried to move, their hold tightened.

"Don't bother bitch, you can't get out."

A shrill female voice said from the shadows in front of her.

"Who are you and why have you tied me down?"

Kagome was growling at the females scent, it was strange, and did not seem at all normal for a female to smell like that.

"I am Aika, the goddess of fire and the fourth hell." The woman stepped out of the shadows, she wore a flowing gown of blood red, her eyes blazed with fire and her hair was black, much like Kagome's human hair, but Aika's hair flowed to the floor. The woman was pale white and had two orange stripes at her temples.

"Why have you taken me?" Kagome was growling even more ferociously then ever, she did not like this woman.

"Why? Perhaps it is because you have something that belongs to me, and I want it back."

Kagome stared at the woman narrowing her eyes she said, "And what prey tell do I have that belongs to you?"

"Sesshoumaru." Aika stated it like a fact.

"You see, you poor excuse for a demon, Sesshoumaru was betrothed to me when he was nothing but a pup, he did not know it, but I was around constantly watching making sure he did not grow soft or forget about the arrangement, but when his mother died he assumed it was off and forgot about me!" Aika's words were like knifes "He claimed that he adored me and that he would never forget, but once he began to rule the Western Lands all he did was avoid me, pretty soon he put barriers to keep me out. We made love many times you know, he is wonderful, so animal…he is mine and I am his. You see, demon, he claimed me as a mate and I do not intend on sharing."

"He doesn't love you! He wanted to forget you, why do you still want him?" Kagome was angered and thrashed the binds that held her.

"Because…I claimed him."

Kagome was speechless at this. `Why had he not told me?'

"Well, little girl, I am not going to kill you, although by now I am sure you just want to disappear, but I am going to do you a favor." Aika held a small veil shaped like a tear drop. Aika then through it at Kagome and it was frozen in mid air as Aika recited the incantation. The words were foreign to Kagome and she watched as the tear drop became larger and engulf her. "What are you doing?!" Kagome shrieked as she felt her self being ripped apart.

Kagome awoke on the floor, she felt tired as if she had fought a whole army. She went to a near by stream she saw in the corner of her eyes. When she looked into the reflection she saw that Sesshoumaru's marks were gone from her face and neck. She still had most of her demon markings, but why did Sesshoumaru's markings disappear?

She went back to where she was and she saw a small scroll with the words written upon it, "No more mate to worry about"

Kagome stood there for the longest minute of her life.

`I am no longer Sesshoumaru's mate?! But why am I still demon?'

Kagome's expression was almost indescribably she could not decide whether to feel anger, pain, or betrayal.

Kagome then decided she go to Sesshoumaru and ask and see what was going on, even though they were not mates anymore she felt as if something was wrong.

At the same time as Kagome was waking up Someone was gracefully walking into Sesshoumaru's palace.

"Aika!? What the hell are you doing here?" Sesshoumaru was almost being ignored by the girl as she walked closer and closer he could feel something was off.

"Where is Kagome?" He could smell her on Aika.

Aika looked up at him, for she was now about an inch away from him.

"…gone, now it's just you and me like it should be." She stated then she wrapped her arms around him, and using a strange needle she punctured the back of his neck and recited a strange spell that would make Sesshoumaru act and do anything she wanted.

Kagome came to the palace gates, but when she tried to get in the servants claimed they did not know her. Kagome used her demon speed to get in and she arrived in the halls to where her's and Sesshoumaru's chamber was. She heard strange noises coming from inside and she soon recognized it as Sesshoumaru and Aika. Kagome slammed the door open and gasped at what she saw.

Before her stood a naked Sesshoumaru with his head back and eyes closed. Below him was a kneeling Aika who was busy giving Sesshoumaru a blow job.

"Sesshoumaru…" Kagome could only utter his name before her eyes turned a blazed red. She saw Aika turn to her and smirk.

"He doesn't need you anymore…:"

With one lunge Aika was on the ground taking a thrashing from Kagome.

"Sesshoumaru stop her please…AAAhhh" Aika faked a cry to make Sesshoumaru turn to her, his eyes were not gold anymore they were a bloodless white….clear.

Sesshoumaru grabbed Kagome off of Aika and threw her across the room. He stood next to Aika like a personal body guard. Kagome stood and watched as Aika then kissed Sesshoumaru and stroked his engorged length.

"Sesshoumaru No, no this can't be? what have you done to him you fucking little cunt!?" Kagome was angry, beyond angry she was now in the air emanating her blue light.

Aika watched and with a slight shocked expression might I add. `All that power…' The goddess decided it was time to get rid of Kagome when she saw that Sesshoumaru's eyes were beginning to show a little color.

The goddess with what seemed like no effort took out a sword which appeared from mid air. It was blazing red and appeared to be made out of fire itself.

With two strikes she swung the sword at watched the damage. Fire raced to Kagome and with an elegant speed she dodged them all. It was now Kagome's turn, but she would make sure that Aika would not be able to dodge her attack. Kagome concentrated all of her miko and demon powers into one blast that would only harm Aika. Kagome then let the blast take it's effect Aika's body writhed for a little while, but after that Aika's body seemed to start to melt a little. Kagome looked at the goddess. `She's still alive!'

Aika stared at Sesshoumaru whose eyes were now almost fully gold. She then turned to Kagome, "Miko-Demon this is not over." With that Aika disappeared into thin air.

Kagome fell to the floor, but Sesshoumaru caught her before she fell. All over the palace the spells that Aika had placed on the servants and children where getting weaker and disappearing all together. Sesshoumaru watched as Kagome's eyes filled with tears. "Sesshoumaru…why did you lie to me? Why won't you answer my questions?"

"Kagome…" Sesshoumaru could not speak his thoughts, `I am a fool why did I hurt you so? Please forgive me.'

"You and I are no longer mates…" Kagome stated it with a heavy chest and a broken heart.

Sesshoumaru allowed his face to show some expression again, and well it looked like this …(O.O!!) "Kagome…"

"Aika took it away from me, some sort of spell," Kagome's eyes were silently spewing tears, "And she said she claimed you…how?"

"Kagome, a long time ago I was engaged to marry Aika, but I am sure she told you this. What she did not tell you is that she was the one that killed my mother, my mother had been standing in the way of the marriage because she knew I did not want to marry her. My mother, though she was a ruthless demon, loved me more then anything and wanted me to be…happy…in a strange way. Aika then killed my mother sending the demon to kill her when she would be weakest to fight. I then called off the marriage finding this out from a friend of my father's Aika is not well mentally, true she is a powerful goddess, but the power has gone to her head. She wanted a kingdom on earth so she wanted to marry me it as her own. She had a physical claim on me, yes, it was a small marking on my ankle done with a strange needle, one produced in the fourth hell. I had a healer remove it for it controlled me sometimes. Aika disliked this, but still considered the claim there."

Kagome stared at him, her eyes streaked with dry tears, he knew he had not answered her most important questions yet.

"…She and I did have sex but that was purely physical, I was under the spell of her bodily charms. One night she used a spell to make me claim her, by marking her as my own. The same spell she used on you, I used on her. I did not wish to be tied down to a woman like herself."

Kagome stared at him, `I am so tired…but one more, just one more question."

"Kagome…you are demon because I wanted you to be, you were right it was not because we mated, if something were to happen to me and you and I would still not have a pup…I wanted you to be able to defend our kingdom from everyone who would greedily want to claim it as their own."

Kagome heard this and looked up at him, letting go of the warm embrace.

"Our…kingdom…." Her eyes once again filled with tears but these, these were tears of joy.

She then put her arms around him and buried her face in his warm embrace. He closed his eyes and inhaled her scent.

"You know Kagome….now that you and I are not mates anymore…well this just means that I need to claim you again." Sesshoumaru smiled….one of those now rare and wonderful smiles.

"And what makes you think I want you to claim me?" Kagome said in a serious tone to fool him.

Sesshoumaru's smile turned to a frown…"You do not want to be my mate?"

Kagome then kissed him and said, "Just kidding…of course I want to be your mate."

I am uploading the next part too cause I did not want to make this chapter too long.
