Later…

"Alright where should I put my sleeping bag?" asked Kagome wanting to lie down.

"You can sleep near me, Kagome," said Miroku looking hopefully at her. She backed away and stepped outside.

"Actually it's a nice night so I'll sleep outside" she said relieved. It was a good night. Not too hot or cold. Perfect! She said to herself.

She found a spot covered with moss and started cleaning off twigs and leaves. She was so wrapped up in doing so that she didn't know a pair of eyes staring at her from a tree. Those eyes were of Inuyasha's. He had loved Kikyo and now a twin came, so he didn't have any idea what to make of it. She had fallen asleep and Shippo was curled next to her. He jumped down without making a sound and crept towards her. She looked so beautiful and peaceful that all Inuyasha could do without disturbing her was stare.

In her sleep she had sensed someone staring at her. Opening her senses around, she found that Inuyasha was staring her she shifted and turned to the side facing Inuyasha and in that act accidentally laid her hand on Inuyasha's. Inuyasha wanted to jerk away from her touch but knowing it would probably wake her gently eased his hand away from hers. He went back into the tree and stared at the stars. Unknowing to Inuyasha, Kagome had woken and silently climbed the tree and sat next to him.

"Beautiful, aren't they?" she said suddenly.

By saying that, she surprised him so much he almost fell out the tree.

"SHHHHH!!!" she said, trying hard not to laugh, "Don't wake everyone up."

"Kagome, you nearly gave me a heart attack," he said breathing hard, "Don't ever do that again! Okay?"

"Sorry" Kagome said giggling and blushing.

He smiled and stared at her while she stared at the stars. Then he should his head a little and looked away blushing.

"How old are you, Kagome?" asked Inuyasha wanting to make a connection with her.

"I'm 16 and you?" Kagome responded.

"I'm a year older than you." He said then asking wanting to know, "How did you become a witch? Were you born with it or did you learned it somewhere?"

Kagome smiled at his questions and answered, "I was destined to be a witch"

"How…" he began but Kagome interrupted him to answer, " I'm sorry but there are things I can't even answer"

Kagome said good night to Inuyasha, climbed down, and fell asleep. Inuyasha stared at her for a while and gradually fell asleep himself.
