A Frozen Solitary Tear

Ch.1: Run away Mate

Disclaimer: Don't own anyone including the characters. {I personally would say that the characters are a bit OOC (out of character) but whatever.}

In a train a solitary tear slid down a girl's cheek. Her eyes looked troubled, as if thinking deeply, about something recent. `My poor, poor pups', she thought. She glanced at the 2 kids and at her kitsune surrounding her, with blue/green cloudish eyes. Her eyes rested on each child. First, the kitsune, Shippo, another, a girl, Rin, and the oldest boy, Souta. She whispered each name more to herself than to the children. She closed her eyes remembering each small detail of the horrible event that had forced them to flee.

**Flashback**

Kagome sat below a sakura tree talking to a boy with short hair. Hojo. Kagome stiffened, feeling many angry and enraged auras. All were demons auras. She felt them charging towards her. She stood up unsure of what to do. A screaming cat youkai at the lead of the pack of demons, jumped, and slashed with his claws, beheading Hojo. Kagome watched horrified, and screamed, Shippo and Souta ran towards Kagome from the forest like place. Kagome turned and ran towards them. The cat demon jumped between the boys and Kagome making them stop in their tracks. The demons made a half-circle shape around them. The cat demon slashed towards the boys. Immediately Kagome made a barrier with her miko abilities. One around the boys and one around herself. The crowd of demons roared, yowled, hissed, and spat their disapproval of her defiance. The cat demon hissed and signaled another demon, one that was in the crowd. The demon stepped into the half-circle with a squirming girl in his hands. "Rin." Kagome gasped the demon grinning said, "Let us kill you and we'll let the girl go." In response Kagome made a bubble of electric-like miko powers surround the demon. He blinked, dropped Rin, fell to his knees, withering, his mouth open gaping in a silent scream, the hoard of demons muttered, whispered surprised and horrified at what was happening to their fellow demon. The watched amazed yet terrified, how the once thought weak, fragile, and caring human was able to purify a stronger being. They watched, as the once cheery face became hard, cold allowing no more happiness through. Too much for her to handle. Thunder crackled in the sky. Hinten was arriving, coming to see if his once-to-be-bride had been tamed and if her adoptive pups killed. He wanted no one else's offspring ruling what he now owned. He arrived; the crowd made a neat path for him to walk through. At the end of the path stood Kagome. She had gathered all of her adoptive pups into the same circle made out of her miko abilities as herself. He watched as her abilities slowly weakened, only to be amazed, to see her taking a new form. She grew taller, more slender, yet strong, her hair grew longer until it reached her knee, her hair once black turned midnight blue with dark purple streaks in it. On her head she had two catlike ears. Her eyes also changed they were now blue, like the blue of a frozen pond, with a fire so strong it was a fiery blue (N/A: you know like those cool type of fires that they are so hot that it looks blue, comprende?) Not the normal red/yellow/orange fire but a fire at highest heat, full roar. She now had 3 Midnight black streaks on each cheek, with 2 other streaks at each wrist, at her for head she showed a fire shaped object with red at the edges. Her curves filled out even more, she became more muscular and she was taller than any of the men that stood in the crowd. The tallest man was the one she had just purified. He used to be 6' 1" she probably topped him of by 3 inches. She had been quiet desirable before but now she was just tempting. But there was one small problem. She would only mate if she wanted to...or she would purify the male. She could make the male submit it wasn't every day that a female/bitch could do that. So he, Hinten had every reason for asking her to be his mate. But when she had refused he had grown furious and had somehow driven the Kyoto demons into an enraged state against her. She now had no choice.

"So what do you say know? Kagome?" Hiten sneered, he had always gotten what he wanted and he was going to get this also. " I said `No' once and i still say `No' i refuse to be your mate simply because you are not to be mine. I thought of you as a kind demon, a demon that respected another, one that would respect his mate's reasons and accept the fact that his mate had other adoptive pups than his. But when you asked me to be your mate you also said that i would have to get rid of the once i call my own. You said they were only mine by words not by blood and so know i will join each one as a true adoptive mother." Kagome took hold of Shippo's hand and carefully slit a diagonal line in his right palm then she slit her left in the same fashion and pressed them together. Shippo was silent during this act. He looked at his palm to see it healing and the scar fading away. He glanced up to see his now official mom doing the same to Rin and to Souta. Kagome then scooped all three into her arms and said, " They are now my kits and you will never be my mate." With that done she ran, and ran until her Kits had fallen asleep she had hidden/masked her scent so no demon could track her down. She ran to a train station and got on.

**End Flashback**

That was at the part that she was at. She knew that the train was going to Tokyo but once in Tokyo she needed to find her great-aunt twice removed. Kaede. She was the one that would help her in this city. She was her support. The train finally came to a stop. Kagome picked up each kit made sure that each was warm enough with the blankets she had found and got off the train and into the misty night. Looking into her new life.
