When Kagome and Inuyasha got back to Kyeade's hut, they saw Miroku and Sango cuddling by the fire.

 

-“Hey you two love birds, we're back!” Inuyasha said after he got a good look at them. Sango started blushing furiously and Miroku was giving Inuyasha a death stare.

 

-“So,” started Miroku “What happened between you and Kagome?”

 

-“Something we should tell them about”Kagome said to Inuyasha.

 

-“Ok, I'll start. We were heading towards the sacred tree when Kikyou stole Kagome's soul and tried to get away. After I beat the crap out of the soul collector,(is that what they're called?) Kikyou had disappeared!” he finished with a growl. Kagome put her hand on his shoulder.

 

-“It's okay Inuyasha, now that we know Kikyou's still alive, she can't catch us by surprise.”

 

(Inuyasha put his hand on Kagome's) “But what if I'm not able to protect you!? What if she attacks you when I'm not with you!?”

 

-“I'll believe that you'll come find me, and you will, like you always do!” she said as she looked deeply into his eyes.

 

-“OHHOHO! Who's the love birds now!?”said Miroku. This time Kagome was the one blushing and Inuyasha was giving Miroku his famous `piss off or else' stare. As soon as Miroku saw Inuyasha's face, he knew he should back off for his own good.

 

-“Uhhh...It's getting late...we should get some rest, right?” said Miroku trying to save his own butt.

 

-“(YAWN) , I am kinda tiered.”said Sango “I'm going inside. Good night!”

 

-“Good night” said Inuyasha and Kagome.

 

-“Wait Sango! I'm coming too!” Miroku called as he ran after her.

 

-“Common Kagome,” Inuyasha said, “We better get some rest too.” He gently picked her up and jumped into a tree. Once in the tree, he positioned her on his lap, careful that she didn't fall.

 

-“Kagome,”

 

-“Yeah?”

 

-“I love you”

 

-“I love you too”

-“I promise I won't let you fall if you sleep up here tonight.”

 

-“I will, I trust you with all my heart!” And while they stared up at the stars they heard:

 

-“AAAAHHHH!! PERVERT!!!”(SMACK!!!!!)

 

-“When will Miroku ever learn?” Inuyasha asked with a smile.

 

-“I don't know. Maybe one day Sango will slap him so hard it'll knock some sense into him” Kagome said with a giggle.

 

Soon after, they both fell into a peaceful sleep........
