It was time. Naraku defeated, the shards collected, they gathered to make the wish that would purify the jewel.

 

Nothing good had ever come of the jewel - Except, perhaps, the friendships they had made along the way collecting it.

 

Kagome handed it to Inuyasha with a trusting smile. What would his wish be? Would he restore life to Kikyo? Bring Sango's family back to life? Become, as he had once wanted, a full youkai?

 

The jewel glowed white, flashed, and disappeared forever.

 

In its place, a cardboard container. Wispy fog curled up from it.

 

The hanyou smiled. His truest wish, the wish of his soul, had been granted.

 

“You wished for…ramen?”
