I've gone through and updated each story. It's basically the same, but with less grammatical errors, and more commentary from the author, AKA me. Uhm…also, there is now a key for the Japanese words I use at the bottom of each chapter….sooo yea….HAPPY TIMES! ENJOY!

oh yea

I've already written the last chapter…^^; and it will be the epilogue…kinda… But it will be the beginning chapter to the sequel…cuz it'll be WAY too long to have all of my ideas in this one story! You'd all kill me…Lol I'm hoping to have it all written and updated (in full completion) by Thanksgiving. I know I'll have some of the Sequel finished by Christmas. (as in, at least 3 chapters…lol)

Chapter 6

Sudden Realization

Kagome woke one morning to the thought of her dream. She had been at home with two little hanyou children, both boys, and she could feel nothing but pain in her chest. Though Kagome was watching her older self and what she KNEW were her children, she saw a mark on the older Kagome's neck at the spot meeting her neck and shoulder.

Kagome rolled over in her bed, thinking. How could SHE have had hanyou children? Did that mean she and Inuyasha would get together? A sudden sadness drifted through her heart. If she and Inuyasha did get together, how come older Kagome was so sad, and there was no sign of him anywhere?

Finally rolling over again, she fell off the bed and landed with a thump on the soft rug next to the futon.

"Okay, okay, I'm getting up…" Kagome muttered, shaking her head and propping her self up on her elbows. A sigh escaped her lips. `Hmm…I wonder…how do hanyou get married?' Kagome blushed at the thought, but decided she wanted to know. "I'll ask Sesshoumaru. I'm sure a youkai lord would know," Kagome grinned, then jumped up to go take a bath and get dressed.

-After morning meal…aka breakfast…..

Rin was running around with Jaken huffing behind her outside in the garden. Kagome sat on a bench watching them, laughing and rooting for Rin to outrun the toad-like servant.

Sesshoumaru sat next to Kagome, who looked up, somewhat startled, then smiled.

"Lord Sesshoumaru…" Kagome started a few minutes later when Jaken had finally fallen down from exhaustion and Rin was running around him like a proud huntress who took down her prey. Sesshoumaru looked down at the human, who was blushing. `Why is she blushing?'

"Hai?" he answered, trying to understand why she suddenly smelt so nervous.

"Ano…how do youkai and hanyou…well…marry?" Her cheeks flared into even more embarrassment. `I didn't think it would be so embarrassing to ask him this!'

"Marry?" The youkai lord sounded confused, but his face didn't change.

"Marry…ano…I think Inuyasha called it mating…?" Kagome felt Sesshoumaru shift.

"You want to know how Youkai mate?" A bit of humor was in his voice, and Kagome's scent took on even more of a mortification scent. "Well…let me see…firstly, the youkai male displays his feelings for the female. Ano…" Now he was the nervous one. "Well…I guess after that it's like…ano…mating…"

He ran a hand through his hair, looking everywhere but at her. Kagome held in a giggle. He actually looked more nervous than he sounded.

"Is it kind of like how human have sex?" Kagome asked softly. Sesshoumaru nodded, having read a few books on the weaknesses of humans.

"But, Youkai mark each other as their mate. They bite each other here," he said while pointing to the spot jointing the neck and the shoulder. "And when they mate, they mate for life. The mark tells other males to keep their hands and eyes off the marked female, and the female is given certain…ano…powers over her mate. Just by showing she is submissive and showing the mark, it will calm her mate into the calmest of states."

Kagome sat, taking it all in. A sudden flash back to her dream made her shiver. Those hanyou boys were hers. But…who had marked her?

"Does the mark ever go away?" Kagome asked after a moment of silence.

"Only if one or the other mate is killed. But normally, it lasts forever."

"Hmm…arigato…" Kagome left the conversation and thought it over for a while. Sesshoumaru watched her as her eyes became distant.

"What brought the question up?" Sesshoumaru couldn't help his curiosity.

"Ano…a dream I had last night…" Kagome trailed off, remembering the faces of her boys.

"About?"

"I was at my home, and I was older, I'd say 22 or so. There were two little twin hanyou boys running around and I saw my neck…and it had a mating mark on it, but there was no sign of any male around other than the boys, and all I could feel was the deepest pain and sadness…" Kagome trailed off again, her voice choking on the lump that formed in her throat. She still had 4 years until she was 22, so why was it affecting her so much now? (author note: she's 17…^^;) Silence quilted over them for a few more minutes.

"Can a male that grows tired of his mate…ano…throw her away? Or just leave her?" Kagome asked, her voice soft. Sesshoumaru smelt salty water and stared at her in shock.

"I guess it could happen…it happened with my parents…" Sesshoumaru cleared his throat as Rin ran up.

"Mamma Kagome! Come play with me!" Rin pulled at her arms.

"Mamma?" Kagome asked, shocked. Usually only Shippo called her Mamma. Sesshoumaru stared at Rin, amusement playing through his mind.

"Hai! Mamma! You and Lord Sesshoumaru look perfect together, and I need a mother!" Rin pulled Kagome, beat red face and all, to her feet.

"Rin…I don't think Lord Sesshoumaru and I will get together, but I will let you call me `mother' if it makes you happy," Kagome smiled at the cheering girl's face as they went off to play in the flowers while Jaken still was recovering.

Sesshoumaru stared after them. `See? Even Rin thinks you should be with the human.' That annoying voice chimed into his head.

A soft growl left his throat as he stood and went back inside to clear his head.
