Confessions and Trouble Stirs:
Many blissful hours later, Kagome and Bankotsu were still sleeping snuggled together.
Midoriko appeared beside them and smiled down at them affectionately. Her voice rang full of conviction. "I am proud of you both. Together you will find the answer."
Staring gazed at the two before her and stressed, "Remember your true bond," With that she faded away.
The young couple still sleeping smiled and held each other closer. They both mumbled an acknowledgment to her words and cuddled closer.
They looked so peaceful and happy that Kikyo couldn't help but to envy them a watched her students sleeping peacefully. 'Tomorrow, they go back,' she sighed, still unsure if what they had learned would prove to be enough to end Naraku once and for all. 'I hope it is enough.'
Thinking back to her former teacher's revelation of earlier, she smiled. 'I wonder how long it will be before they figure it out.' She mused silently over the latest series of events.
She continued her silent vigil until the sun began to rise. She slowly and quietly crept over and removed Bankotsu's jewel shards, adding them to the jar Kagome had kept them in. Returning to her seat, she waited for them to wake up.
Bankotsu woke up to a warm woman snuggled to his chest. He stared at her, 'She's so beautiful. I hope she will stay with me forever.' Bankotsu carefully sat up not waking the beauty he had held all night.
He shifted his legs because his hakamas felt rather constricted…'What the hell?' he glared at his lap in frustration, before reaching into his hakamas and shifting so they were not as constricted. "Damn thing has a mind of its own."
Sighing, he shifted his gaze to Kagome once again. He drank in her beauty and recommitted every inch of her face to memory. He watched her sleep a minute longer, before gently shaking her awake.
Feeling someone shake her shoulder lightly, Kagome stirred and blinked a few times before her warm brown eyes locked with his sapphire gaze. "Morning Ban." she smiled.
Bankotsu smiled back. "Morning Kags," Standing to his feet, he held out his hand.
Smiling she accepted it and he helped her to her feet.
Staring at the woman he knew he'd never be able to spend the rest of his time on earth without, Bankotsu spoke firmly. "After breakfast we are leaving to go back to the others."
Kagome nodded.
They went about their business by catching and smoking fish for breakfast. As the fish smoked over the fire for breakfast, Bankotsu and Kagome decided to take a bath in the river before heading back.
Kagome stripped to her under clothes again.
Bankotsu stripped bare ass naked. He smirked as he once again caught her blushing at his physic. "So when do I get a nude bath with you?" His smirk widened.
Kagome had been drinking in the sight of his masculine beauty. She tore his eyes from his God-like body and blushed.
After they had entered the water, she answered in a slightly husky voice, "Um maybe later," Her spine stiffened and she stood frozen in place. Her eyes widened and her breath hitched. 'Did I just say that out loud?'
Moving closer, Bankotsu purred, "Really?" His cerulean eyes locked on her chocolate ones.
Blushing Kagome nodded meekly.
Leaning in Bankotsu kissed her lips, licking the bottom one and nibbling it asking for entrance.
Kagome eagerly complied giving him access into her moist mouth.
Bankotsu greedily drank in her sweetness as he turned the kiss from affectionate to dominating.
Moaning Kagome kissed him back just as passionately. Her arms went around his neck as she pressed herself into his hard chest.
Bankotsu's own hands snaked to cup her hips pulling their lower bodies close together. Feeling her stiffen slightly at the contact and not wanting to rush his precious angel, he sucked on her lower lip a second before pulling back.
He'd love to go further but knew she wasn't ready… just yet.
Kagome gasped for air and smiled shyly at him. Taking a deep breath she admitted shyly but surely, "I love Bankotsu," She shifted her weight from one foot to the other, unsure of how he would react.
Her palms felt sweaty and she chewed her bottom lip. A strange empty sensation invaded her belly.
He gently lifted her chin with his forefinger and pressed his forehead against hers. He took a deep breath and whispered, "I love you too Kagome."
Before either could fully digest the others revelation a bird called out. They blinked and got out and then dressed.
Still reeling from their bath, Kagome gathered her things. She approached Kikyo and smiled. "Thank you again for everything Kikyo."
Staring at her reincarnation Kikyo nodded.
Bankotsu and Kagome set off holding hands. On the way back they were each lost in their own private thoughts about the other's revelations during their morning bath.
Brown eyes glittered with an inner light and a warm glow spread throughout her body. 'He loves me,' she absentmindedly began humming as the mantra played through her head.
Bankotsu was touched by how big and forgiving her heart really was. 'She loves me too.' His heart soared. His muscles went rigid and his spine stiffened as his steps halted. 'She even loves a cold hearted murder like me…'
Kagome snapped out of her thoughts and smiled. "You're not as cold as you want people to think, Ban," she leaned her head on his arm needing to reassure him.
Bankotsu replied seriously, "Of course I love you! You're sweet, kind, not to mention the most beautiful woman I've ever known." Kissing her once more, he added smugly, "And baby I've known some real knock outs."
"Really," Kagome fought a pang of jealousy at the mention of other women in his life.
Bankotsu smirked. "Better believe it angel!" A bark of laughter flew from his lips as he scooped her into his arms and began spinning her around.
Kagome laughed exuberantly. She hugged his neck and then leaned down to capture his lips in a sweet kiss.
Pleasantly surprised she initiated the kiss for once; Bankotsu eagerly kissed her back gently.
Pulling back he lowered her to her feet carefully, again taking her hand. With a bit of a bounce in each step, they walked back to the original camping area and stopped.
Bankotsu searched around a bit and then decided to head towards Kaede's village, where they were to meet up with the others the next day; as had been decided before everyone split up.
He bent down in front of her. "Kags I want you to climb on and hold tight. We need to make it to the assigned meeting tomorrow and we have a long trip ahead of us." He watched a frown mar her beautiful face. He offered sincerely. "I know you're still tired from the last four days of rigorous training, so I'll carry you."
Touched by his thoughtfulness Kagome smiled. "Okay, thanks Ban." She wasn't really surprised that he had picked up on how tired she still was. Over the last four days they had pretty much learned to feel each other's emotions, even when trying to hide them.
He smirked. "No problem babe."
She secured her bag and arrows to her back and then climbed on, gripping his powerful hips with her knees and thighs. She gently placed her hands around his torso hugging him.
Smiling he took off running faster than Inuyasha could have tried to. 'I'm a much faster runner than that mutt could ever hope to be.'
Kagome smiled hugging him enough to stay on, but not impede his breathing. She loved the feel of his muscles moving underneath her. Smiling blissfully she allowed the wind whipping by them to help keep her awake.
'Damn I sure love the way her thighs grip me,' He smirked. 'I'd love to have them gripping me in a more intimate way too.' On purpose he allowed vivid pictures to briefly flash through his mind. Before he shook his head and focused on his directions of running.
Catching his thoughts and the pictures, Kagome blushed deeply, but smiled as she snuggled her face into his shoulder blades.
Not wanting to scare his little flower, Bankotsu kept thoughts of Renkotsu and his treason out of his mind. He was pushing himself a little hard on purpose to quell the anger he felt over Renkotsu and his actions.
His thoughts turned to the gentle vixen on his back. 'With Kagome, at least I know that I will never be alone again. My angel… she's taught me more than she knows,' he mused.
Kagome smiled. 'I'm always here for you my brave, strong warrior!'
Bankotsu smirked. 'Just as I always will be for you tender angel.'
Neither could quite get over the fact that they felt the same way about each other, one physically strong and the other emotionally strong. 'Where one lacks, the other compensates. Together we are perfect, whole... complete. That's the word! We complete each other!' they both thought blissfully.
Kagome gasped as she remembered that tonight would be the no moon. 'Oh no!'
Bankotsu blinked at the panic in her thought. 'What is it Angel?'
'Tonight is the no moon… we have to hurry Bankotsu!'
Sensing the urgency behind her request, Bankotsu nodded and increased his speed. 'Hold tight baby.'
Kagome clutched tighter and Bankotsu raced off.

With Inuyasha, Jakotsu, Tara and Renkotsu:
Inuyasha stared at the group. "We need to start heading towards Kaede's so we can meet up with the others on time tomorrow. Lucky for us we're not too far from there now. I'd say by night fall or first thing as the sun rises, depending on how much whining you three do for breaks." He sent a poignant look at the complainer.
Jakotsu huffed. 'Oi we can't all be built strong and resilient like you."
Inuyasha rolled his eyes. 'One more day Inu, you can do it…. Just one more day and then you can get away from the whiny kook.'
Jakotsu and Tara both sighed in relief thinking the same thing. 'One more day, then we can finally get away from Renkotsu.'
Renkotsu snorted. 'Perfect! I can finally get a break from this pack of useless imbeciles.' His jaw clenched. 'The last four days with them has been seriously grating on my last nerve!'
His thoughts switched to his dubious employer. 'I wonder when he'll expect me to show up and report again? Damn I hope I have the info he wants by then or I'm as good as dead.'
Inuyasha kept his eyes narrowed on Renkotsu. 'I bet he's planning on running off the minute we all meet up. He better not feed Naraku any information that could endanger Kikyo.' Clenching his jaw, his thoughts turned to solely to his lover. 'You'd better be safe Kikyo!'

With Sango, Miroku, Kirara, and Shippo:
Shippo jumped onto Sango's shoulder. "We need to be at Kaede's by tomorrow afternoon."
Sango ground her teeth and nodded. "I know Shippo." Turning she called her way ward lech. "Miroku, It's time to go meet the others!" Inside she was boiling mad. Her fist clenched at her side and her other hand tightened its grip on her giant weapon.
Miroku was flirting with yet another village girl. He sighed. "I'm coming." Turning to the beauty, he sighed regretfully. "I must take my leave, beautiful flower." Leaning over, he kissed the blushing maiden on her soft lips.
Sango growled trying to keep her temper in check. "Damn him to hell and back! Why…? Why must he always hurt me like this?" She wiped a lone tear from her cheek.
Clenching her jaw she thought determinedly, "That's it! As soon as we get the chance, I'm asking Bankotsu how to end Miroku's lecherous ways once and for all!" She mounted Kirara without even looking at Miroku. 'Either that, or else I'm going to knock the idiot hoshi unconscious and leave him there to rot!'
Oblivious to the fuming beauty's thoughts, Miroku slipped on behind her.
Also angry at Miroku and his thoughtless ways Shippo sat in front of Sango.
Miroku groped Sango's butt unable to resist temptation. He was greeted with a sundering slap.
"Damn lech, hands off!"
Rubbing his stinging cheek, he looked dreamy as he mumbled, "It's the hand. I swear it's cursed."
Sango rolled her eyes, "Sure it is." She snorted. 'Damn him! I'll show him! I know a guy like Bankotsu can help me. Just you wait hoshi…'

Two hours before Nightfall Inuyasha and his group arrived at the quiet little village. Kaede was out gathering herbs. She spotted them and blinked. "Inuyasha, what brings ye here?"
Inuyasha sighed and rubbed the back of his neck. "We're meeting Kagome and the others here sometime tomorrow." He shrugged.
Kaede nodded. "Have ye had any luck breaking the curse?"
Inuyasha grunted. "Not yet."
Tara blinked. "Eh? What curse?" She was a little upset that she hadn't been told already.
Jakotsu gave her a stern look and answered bluntly, "The one Kagome and Big brother are under."
Tara blinked again. "You mean they aren't married?" Her eyes widened as realization dawned.
Inuyasha sighed knowing that the cat was out of the bag. "No. They were placed under a curse by Naraku."
Tara frowned, "But why would they claim to be married if they aren't?" She scratched her head. 'Why would he be so concerned about her feelings if they aren't really together?'
Jakotsu clenched his teeth. "Enough questions! I'll answer this one and then no more until after they return." He sent her a glare to silence her coming protest.
Tara sighed nodded her acceptance… for now.
Jakotsu huffed. "So that they could avoid any more trouble… The only people who know about the curse are the ones you have already met and the old wench there," As an afterthought, he added, "And of course, Naraku who cast it."
Tara digested this new information as they set up camp.
An hour later Sango and her group arrived. Once Kirara landed, Sango sought out Inuyasha. Finding him in his usual spot, she walked over to him. "Any sign of Kagome and Bankotsu yet?"
She completely ignored Miroku, who had picked up on her distant mood an hour ago and was trying to get her attention.
Tara was upset about being lied to about their marriage. Overhearing the question, she walked up. "They haven't arrived yet."
Noticing the other girl was also tense and upset about something, Sango asked, "How about we girls go bathe in the hot springs and leave dinner up to the guys?"
'A nice soak sounds like heaven right now.' Tara nodded.
Sango faced Inuyasha. "Be sure to keep that ass away from the springs," she glared and stabbed a finger in the direction of her lech.
Inuyasha assured, "I will." His head tilted to one side. He was curious about what had Sango in such a foul mood, though he didn't want to piss off the demon slayer by asking. He snorted. 'Knowing Miroku he was being a pervert again.'
Sango nodded once. "Tara, get your stuff and let's go."
Tara brushed past a stunned Jakotsu as she gathered her things and the two women left toward the hot springs with Shippo and Kirara tagging along.
Jakotsu whined, "No way am I doing woman's work," he stomped his foot petulantly.
Inuyasha sighed and rolled his eyes. "Fine, you do the hunting and I'll cook it."
Jakotsu nodded and took off searching for a boar.
Inuyasha faced his comrade. "Miroku take the fire breather and collect the wood." He frowned and added, "If you go near those springs, I'll let Sango know about your last trip to spy on her..." His amber eyes locked with the monk's blue ones.
Eyes wide Miroku gulped fearfully and nodded, hurrying Renkotsu to get the firewood.
Twenty minutes later Renkotsu and Miroku had returned with the wood. Neither had spoken a word.
Ten minutes later Jakotsu came back with a boar slung over his shoulder. Plopping it on the ground, he grumbled, "There's dinner." He sat down pouting. 'Once those girls get back I'm going to those springs and getting that filthy stench off me and my poor kimono.'
Inuyasha huffed and extended his claws. He sliced up the boar meat, tossing it into the pot. Glaring at Renkotsu he barked, "Well! Use your fire already!"
Glowering at the hanyou Renkotsu ground his teeth before lifting his gourd to his mouth. Taking a swig, he breathed out fire, casting a nice roaring fire under the pot. Once Renkotsu was finished he capped his gourd. "I'm not a human torch!"
Inuyasha snarled. "You'd better watch who you snap at, clay man!"
